I think the old story of vampires turning other people into vampires is descriptive. I fear that after I got drained by a narc, I was a real downer to others! I feel embarrassed about that. Well, now I know better and can do better.

I dont feel drained, but everytime I go to my mother's house I feel angry after. And not just my type of anger, I feel strange anger. Soon after I may be unpleasant for peolpe, for a short time fortunatelly. I wonder if this is energy of a house or my mother's bed energy. I feel energy of places too, by the way.
Your mother may be a narcissist, injuring you with words in a covert manner. I feel this anger too after interacting with my mother. I’m An empath who was being manipulated by a narcissist. Take care and protect yourself. It’s not worth living with anger.
If I am feeling tired or bad for no reason. I suspect energy vampires. I taught people who may be psychically victimized my method for dealing with it. 1.) Close your eyes 2.) imagine your arm is a sword 3.) imagine silver or different colored cords attaching to your solar plexes from off in the distance to seemingly nowhere. 4.) Take your arm and like a sword cut those cords sucking your energy. It works for me and all the people I've taught this.

I used to work as a holistic therapist but guess what... had to stop work as I was diagnosed with auto immune disease ulcerative colitis and have subsequently had 2 major surgeries! I am an empath and have sensitivity to atmosphere, electricity, etc. Also, my sister, who is a really narcissistic person accuses ME of "sucking the life out of HER." It is her excuse for being cruel to me. I don't know what to think or feel about that, in relation to this. I am bubbly and light hearted and fun. She says I am "too much." Personally, I feel ill around HER. She's so negative and bitter, that she hates happy people.

I think “sucking the energy out” of them - your sister, my brother, whomever....is THEM projecting what they are doing to you. Perhaps it comes from US not giving them their demands for attention and adoration. They are not going to be aware of or take responsibility for their emptiness but blame you to protect their denial. Just had to share but please feel free to ignore if it does not resonate.
I recently knocked this lady who kept repeating what my abuser thinks of me. It was just depleting my energy. Imagine a person goes on telling u that they don't respect u.

My partner can be an energy vampire. He’s never done his own healing or worked on himself and it’s just a product of unhealed trauma and upbringing. I always knew but never FELT it until this week how much he drained me. I’m so very sad to realize the person I love is toxic to me. What a difficult lesson the universe has sent to me. I keep hoping he’ll get better...but I feel like I’m wasting my energy still on just that hope.
Holly- learn how to draw boundaries and protect your energy and he will either be flexible enough to get with the new plan or not but you might just be pleasantly surprised -that if you stop letting him drain your energy that he might just respect your boundaries- even if he doesn't like it in the beginning-if you really love him it's worth a try. What can one do when the energy vampires are neighbors? It's not something we have much control over, especially as economical pressures are having us living in closer quarters. Would appreciate your advice on this. Clearing energy cannot and should not be a full time unpaid job for anyone.
It's a little difficult to offer a solution without an example, but if you see your neighbor in passing and do not want to talk, nothing says 'I don't want to talk' like *not* stopping! You can just wave, smile, and nod and continue walking into your place. If you're heading out, you can say you have somewhere you need to be and don't have time to chat. I have a friend that claims to be an energetic healer. She always had so much energy and I could only handle her in small doses, I thought that it was because she was always so hyper. After watching this video, I'm pretty sure that she was actually sucking me dry. I would always leave feeling so extremely exhausted. Same thing with my ex bf, that I'm pretty sure has NPD. Both of them had so much energy. Could that be because they are energy vampires?
Yes it could, Tammy. With energy vampires part of why they leave us exhausted is that there is so much attention required when the other person has so much 'energy' it means they are talking, complaining, sharing etc but then we are required to be the audience or give advice etc. Thank you for a great Q!
I had at work narcissisric woman leader. When I am working on home office I feel better a bit. When I am in the office I have stomachache. And I cant sleep well I woke up at 4:30am or 5am not at 7 as ussuall and then mu eyes are red and hurt.

Some people are shameless while their appearance can be attractive like a shining light and their language too very exciting attractive only if they can be better of it and also so called spiritual healers. For fame attention and power with shallow language. They treat and use people like objects. .
I am an empath. I do see people who are superficial and i don't trust them, but i nevertheless give them a chance to see how much i care for them, and hope that they will change, despite knowing that they will betray my trust. But in all my cases, they were assholes.. They won't ever change..now i became colder, because I am living in Germany, full of racists and so on..but my son is at risk..the mother is a psychopath...that's the problem..i am still fighting.

I have just got rid of a huge narc who hijacked my life, my home, and my dog. However, I am feeling ill, no energy, blah blah, I know he is still tuned into me but I can't cut it off. He used to plug a USB into me, theoretically, and drain me but I think I am so used to our energies being merged, I can't seem to separate it. It's like he has cloned my energy, so it's hard to tell the difference. Although I know its him because its so negative and I am not like that. I can't forget him because I am talking him to court so cant cut the thoughts and feeling off just yet. any ideas?? thx

Hi Terri, why do you think when I tell people I heal they think I'm crazy? They had me thinking that at one point but I have had so many confirmations from those I have healed, it must be true. I was going to a psychologist and was afraid to mention it to her, as the weeks went on, I did eventually mention it and she went all weird. I have now stopped seeing her. There is a subgroup among HSP (Highly Sensitive Persons) called HSS (High Sensation Seekers). These people have less trouble dealing with a lot of noise, perfume or crowds, for example, than other HSPs
