Jill's playthrough was enjoyable and I loved seeing the differences in the cutscenes between her and Barry, but I could've gone my whole life never doing that Aqua Ring segment again (: Thanks for watching and I really hope yall enjoyed coming along with me in this REmake journey 💛

pre-rendered backgrounds is a different kind of aesthetic that we dont get enough in games today.

The middle option is not actually normal difficulty. For this remaster of the remake they added an extra-easy option. To unlock hard mode you need to complete the game, otherwise the hardest option available from the start is actually just normal mode. This is why there were so few Hunters (among other things), you were/are playing on easy from the choice of Normal, Easy or Extra-Easy. Also while you were using the Director’s Cut disc for your original game, you were just playing the original version. The actual ‘Director’s Cut’ is the ‘advanced’ option in the difficulty choices. It has more enemies, new camera angles, new placements for all the items, all new costumes for the characters (both default and extra), and even some new jumpscares.
RIP Rebecca, we will remember. Fingers crossed for Barry hahaha xd

Thank God you tried to save Richard instead of just letting him die like in Director's or Chris playthrough. He dies anyway but you get new cutscenes and are rewarded with the best shotgun. Also he returns the favor. He dies heroically saving you.
Loved this playthrough! Glad to see that Richard survived... for another 5 minutes, anyway!
Also, it's implied that the crimson head in the coffin is George Trevor, but it's never officially confirmed. It's definitely not Spencer, as he's still alive as of RE1 (you can play the rest of the series to see what happens to him!)
What a remake this was. I remember my old girlfriend palyed it at night on the GC while i was trying to sleep. Shed wake me up periodically scremaing in terrror 😂😂😂😂

Excellent playthrough,. Enjoyed watching it! You can get the alternate costumes as soon as you hit an item box, the costume room is in the little hallway where you find the first self defense dagger & the closet key will be in your item box.

This game back when it first came out gave you all sorts of great rewards depending on what time frame you beat the game. Samurai edge with infinite ammo was the best thing ever. This game even to this day is still a great example of a remake done absolutely right
The whole aspect of not saving 8 or more times and beating in 2-4 hours for unlimited ammo and a couple of other things

Bravo on getting Jill's best ending! Fun fact: even if you make all the right choices, the side character can get killed during the Super Tyrant fight and that'll knock you back to an "okay" ending. Looking forward to the original RE 2! Maybe RE 0 will get some love after? Whatever the next RE, I'm sure it'll be fun to watch. (P.S. RE 0, RE: Code Veronica, RE 8, and one of RE 5's DLCs all have info on Umbrella and how it's founders lived and died.)

I always prefer playing as Jill because she's beginner friendly, she has more slots and the lock pick is so nice to have. And I feel like there's a lot more guidance in the beginning of her playthrough because Barry is there and I kind of like being told where to start at the beginning. It gives me time to get used to the flow of the game before it leaves me to figure things out by myself.
Your reactions are pricless, I'd give almost anything to see you ply the original Resident evil 3. The remake is rubbish but the original is crisp👌

Your channel was recommended to me while I was looking up reactions to the latest Life is Strange game and I am so glad it was. I was almost ready to stop watching Let's plays because too many creators just rush through the game and pay little attention to it outside of the main story. I love how much attention you pay to the story, environment all the side stuff that is offered it truly is amazing. I have loved your RE playthroughs this is one of my fav franchises. I can not wait to see what comes down the line. You truly show love and compassion for the games that few others portray. I would love to see down the line if you gave a game called Days Gone a try ( I don't know if you played on twitch as I don't watch Twitch). It is an incredibly underrated game with so much to enjoy under the surface of just the main story. I am sure you have a laundry list of games to play. I wanted to suggest all the same. Regardless I will continue to watch and support your content from here on out. Thank you for everything you give to the games you play.

A tip for saving ammo, which can come in handy on the higher difficulties: zombies don't grab and bite you when they are on stairs. They just puke at you (yes, very disgusting). The puking does damage you, but without the grabbing it is fairly easy to avoid by running around them, and stabbing with the knife.

Was hoping you wouldn't chose 'Easy difficulty' again with Jill. If you had loaded the clear save from your Chris playthrough and started a new game, it would have actually let you chose from 'Very Easy', 'Easy', 'Normal' and 'Hard' instead of giving these cryptic descriptions.
Differences between 'Normal' and 'Easy':
- less enemies on easy
- the lower the difficulty the more time the game gives you until a zombie turns into a crimson head
- more ink ribbons, health items and way more ammunition on easy
For example you can find 315 handgun bullets on easy, 210 on normal and 195 on hard. Or 154 shotgun bullets on easy, 112 on normal and 70 on hard (with Chris).
While Jill can find 36 less shotgun bullets on Easy, there are 60 additional shells to be found for the grenade launcher (in addition to the ones the grenade launcher comes with)

I think you need to try this again on a higher difficulty than easy (that you've been playing on), to get the true resident evil experience. I recommend loading your old save, going "once more" or whatever it says, and going for a hard Jill play-through, or a normal Chris play-trough, to get a proper challenge, so that there's lots of tension.

@@jpmf8050 As far as I'm concerned there hasn't been a Resident Evil game since 2015, with the one exception of that alright remake of the second game. There is no "modern RE", just like there isn't say a Gladiator 2. If there was i might have to do something crazy like write off Capcom forever hahah...
Besides the new enemies design being uninspired (they are just animals, lame) i think the story is really what holds 0 down. I like the gameplay and the setting.

Great playthru. I like the old school graphics-nice and crisp. Wesker's voice sounds familiar. He sounds like the lead actor from the series "Lost".
Hope you'll also play RE Zero. It's the same style as Remake and the last of these classic fixed camera RE games.

That's a wrap on another RE playthrough. I don't know how you do it, I've just played the game myself for the nth time and you still show me something new. I never thought to examine the stain glass window in the dining room/balcony, showing a woman on one side and a witch on the other. I wonder if that is a reference to RE Village 🤔

This game has many elements that changes up the cutscenes you see. If you take a different route or get a item, things like Barry wont save you from the ceiling falling down or he'll be there when you meet Forest another you'll pass out after getting poison and n Barry will carry you to a safe room and heal you. Many different secrets in this game.
Such a great game. I need to do a replay soon. Graphics still hold up!
Thank you very much for playing this beautiful art of game that nowadays is hard to find in such good quality ! I have played the directors cut and the normal version from 1998 when I was younger .I have played resident evil 10-15 times by now and I also like the directors cut version much more than the regular version. I also understand why you said you are confused when you played Jill and had not to fight plant 42. Let me tell you this and why you have to play it many more times to understand it. It depends how you play this game which cutscenes you get will trigger other cutscenes like this time you mastered the richard scene and found barry in the room with the aquarium/bees riddle second floor. You didn´t do this in the directors cut version for example and yes barry would have saved you in the directors cut version when you did encounter plant 42. Just play it different again you will see. Also I don´t want to spoiler anything so I just say you missed other cutscenes with barry like for example the cutscene at the balcony with forest. You can´t get all the cutscenes in one playthrough either so you have to play it multiple times to see this. 🤙
Nice video. BTW, Barry didn't shoot Enrico. Barry has lighter boots and pants than Wesker, and you can see the boots (sneaking up on Jill + Enrico) are pitch black (ie. Wesker). You can even approach Enrico with both Jill + Barry together in the OG. The remake is fantastic, but sadly, many branching paths and alternative scenes were not remade. For example, there are several different ways to get Barry killed during the middle or end of OG-RE1, and numerous scenes you cannot see unless you navigate the mansion in a specific way - some of which are now missing in the remake, or made standard. Still a great game though.
I'm pretty sure Jill has more slots to accommodate the grenade launcher having multiple ammo types. It's more important to use the right ammo on the harder difficulties. i.e. Acid for scaly reptilians, flame for plants and fleshy creatures, explosive for general purpose.
Killing a zombie with flame rounds burns it to death and keeps it from becoming a Crimson Head, it also kills plant 42 very quickly if Barry doesn't show up to help. Acid is extremely powerful against Hunters, the giant Snake, and the Tyrant. (by the time you get to the Tyrant you'll likely have the magnum tho)
So yes: The painting is how you find the extra costumes. And in the OG it's always Wesker that shoots Enrico [it's a Beretta]. In the remake, for Chris it's Wesker [You hear his Beretta] but for Jill it can be either Wesker or Barry [in your case you heard Barry's Magnum]. As for the first crimson head, it can't be Spencer. He dies in RE 5's DLC. As for the Marcus family, that's in Zero. Key is found in the item box I believe.)

If I'm not mistaken. Chris has more health less inventory space and Jill less health more inventory space. That way you kinda have a different experience with both characters.
Yes, and Chris is also a better shot than Jill, so it's easier for him to get critical hits/headshots. Unfortunately, he doesn't get the lockpick, so he has to find and carry around Old Keys to unlock certain doors.
@@Rocket1377 Chris is better with the shotgun. He does not suffer from recoil and he shoulders the shotgun when fighting bosses which increases his DPS (never tested if the same happens with the other guns). He also has 6 more full heals than Jill, courtesy of Rebecca.

Hi there gorgeous Kasta. Watched you with Chris. I stood by you. Do not leave Rebbeca or Richard or Barry behind in Any walk through. Barry helps you and Rebbeca to. Richard gets eaten by the snake but leaves you his elite 12 guage shot gun. Ok! I been a player since 1996. Res1 directors cut, 2, 3, 4 ,5,6,7 and 8 I hated 7 and 8. I never played any remakes. I watch.you and this speed runner guy. You collect and find everything he makes it faster to get the unlimited ammunition, rocket launcher. Great job Kasta. Res4 is great you do but the spider and mummy kills me. I love your beauty to watch!

Well at least you recognised the error of your ways in Chris's run. If I remember rightly (its been several years since I platinumed this), you hear Rebecca scream in the upper west part of the 1st floor mansion? I think there is an extra cutscene in Lab B4 that involves Wesker, Chris & Rebecca. If you sped ran it for your own enjoyment, it would take less than 4 hours. Do that, then do RE0 to get context before the Mansion incident.
With relation to the closet key, the only thing I didn't hear you say was checking the inventory box. I believe it is in there. Also, A very small minor detail on Jill's alt costume, was her pack attached to her waist saying F.O.C.. I know where that unit is from but don't recall her being a part of that unit?
Heyy Maggie, been watching since a few months ago. I have to say, you're such a delight and breath of fresh air when it comes too online gaming. Specifically on RUclips. Most people aren't as methodical and observant as you are, and i absolutely love that! I also loved how much you were into dissecting the architecture of the Batman Arkham games, with like Gotham City. Cause, i am such a comic book geek and love marveling at the scenery in them. Anyway, question for you! Are you going to be playing the rest of the RE games? If so, are you gonna do some of the remakes for them? Or just the originals? Much love, Sean. ❤☺

So am I , going to play through the main entries of re next year including the og’s and the REmakes.
Other's have already said it, but you played the REMake on Easy difficulty for both playthroughs. Thats why you felt there weren't very many enemies.
the initial difficulty options for the ReMake are Normal, Easy and Very Easy. There are 2 harder difficulties, Hard and Very Hard, but you have to beat normal first to unlock Hard, and then Hard to unlock Very Hard

There is a mode you will unlock, where all enemies are invisible, I played that mode on the highest difficult and it was incredible to finish. Maybe when you unlock this mode you want to try this? To get The get closet key, you have to go to load and select the cleared data 00, which you have saved in number 5.
Then from there you’ll choose “once again…” at the menu.
Then you’ll see other difficulties to select.
Choose either one.
You’ll have to go an item box and there you will find the key.

Since you just played this game, before RE2 play Resident Evil Zero, it's a prequel to the whole series.
Also, if you had saved Richard from the snake bite in Chris play through, He shows up again during the shark area and you get his assult shotgun there.
Not sure about Racoon City, but I'm sure you broke many men's hearts in real life :D
Enjoy Re Remake, it is such a good game that I really struggled to play when it came out. It's terrifying.

Maggie guessed it was sir Spencer, I know that’s incorrect and I guess Maggie forgot that’s incorrect too.
Obviously Maggie forgets about RE5 when she was playing with Anna.
Maggie saw Albert Wesker murder Sir Spencer in front of her eyes, that murder took place in 2006, well after the initial 1996 events of RE1R.
In other words when the STARS team left the mansion in 1996 Sir Oswald Spencer was still alive, it’s actually rumored that George Trevor is in that Crypt.

If you really love this game so much, then I really recommend you to download and try a randomizer. All the item locations get shuffled, you never know what you're going to pick up and where. Randomizers are a great way to make every playthrough feel fresh and exciting, each playthrough is a new and unique experience with different sequences of actions and routes, no playthrough feels the same.
I‘ve never heard of that! Cool! But wouldn’t it be possible to mess up the continuity and get stuck somewhere? 😅
@@LittleKikuyu no, the randomizers are carefully designed and their logic is thoroughly tested, so it's almost impossible to get stuck and softlock yourself, i.e. the key cannot be found behind a door that is opened with that key, it will always be somewhere else. Bugs do happen, but they are very rare, under very specific unfortunate circumstances.
I love randomizers, you get to replay the games you love endlessly and every new run will feel fresh because every route will be different every time, no more "oh, I'll find the broken shotgun in this room, then I'll go to this room, replace the broken shotgun with the new one", you never know where you'll find the broken shotgun and what you'll get for replacing the shotgun, maybe it'll be an important key, maybe you'll just get a green herb. You never know!
Randomizers are great for games that involve a lot of exploring and backtracking: RE games, Souls games, Metroidvanias, etc. I highly recommend them, they're a lot of fun!
U say the Hunters ain't scary in this version but u got actually super lucky with them because in this game they will literally jump up in the air & lunge at u & decapitate u in one blow with their claws!!!!! There's also another way to save Richard from getting eaten by Yawn snake just to see him later get eaten by one of the Sharks 😂
