When I played Kings, I played on Hard And when his Health went down Mine went down with so it was we were fighting on the same. Then on his final stage I lowered him and Lowered Him until I was 10 health and he was very low and I hit one of those lazer things and die. 2nd Time I had more health than him until he gets to his third stage and thats when we got to the same health (because I had experience fighting him, then I in the final stage me and Crimson literally Traded and we both destroyed each other (Game counts it as a Game over so I had to restart) “he says Predicable while he’s literally about to blow up.” In the 3rd Same as 2 but I had a little more health then him even on 3rd stage and on the fourth stage we reach the same level of health. I finally shot him down. My Plane barley flying and that was the End of Project wingman for me. (I was flying a Su 37)

imagine this You're a member of the Colossus Squadron of the 86th Cascadian Air Force, the main squadron of your pilot in Project Wingman 2. You're "Wild 1", Leader of Wild Team, and the silent protagonist of the game. During the game, you fought the remains of the dying Federation, dealt with their finals aces. The whole game, they were on their knees, scraping the bottom of the barrel, their ultra-nationalist vision and ultra-patriotic indoctrination of their pilots are slowly fading away. At some point, a whole Federation Squadron literally switches side mid-mission because you're team is absolutely fucking them hard. They are THAT scared of you and completely demoralized. The enemy, both on the skies or land, actively think you're only there to avenge the fallen from Cascadia, a vengeful spirit hell-bent on taking down the Federation. You gain the nickname "the Vengeful Ghost of Cascadia" or simply "The Ghost" While you're fighting the final boss, the main ace antagonist panics, literally terrified of you, yells in the coms "Why are you doing this! We are losing! You're shooting a dead horse! Let us surrender!" And your silent protagonist talks for the first time. He answers in a calm, yet extremely furious "Say that to Crimson 1" The enemy ace freezes and says nothing. "This is for my home Presidia. May the Federation suffer the same fate" The ace answer in a terrified and shaking voice "Oh no..." The battle isn't about the ace trying to shoot you down, he's actively trying to run away, trying to avoid the fate of so many of his friends and fellow soldier. He shoots at you only in defense, trying to out-manoeuver you and escape. But you? You're out there for blood. There will be no survivor, no prisoner, no one to tell the tale. Wild 1 and Colossus Squadron will strike the federation down for their crime. For him, Hell isn't hot enough for their sins.

He's an abusive partner. "You made me do this. If you'd only done what I said, none of these people would have been hurt. This is YOUR fault." Really, people joke about Crimson 1 being a shallow villain, but I think he's the first villain in a while that genuinely made me angry. He wasn't a worthy foe. He wasn't the final boss I feared to fight. I just hated him. In spite of his kinda cheezy dialogue, he was a really effective bad guy.
This kind of setup is why I play PW with a HOTAS setup. The only reliable weapon at this point is the gun, and good luck aiming at a literal housefly with the shitty xbox controller stick.

Like how the game also portrays jet jousting similar to Zero and other ace combat games. They also make the soundrack more mixed depending on what the pilots view the player, may it be dark, full of pride, disgusted or anger. It represents their emotion as they always see time and time again how you, the player always felt superior to them in every way.

Archangel is a sky-bound dance between winged saviors, each legends in their own right, with everyone around knowing that the survivor of this fight will take the title of "Ace of Aces." Daredevil is a triumphant charge against all odds, a single arrow arcing down from the blue sky that hits the enemy champion in the forehead and signifies that, at long last, the tide has turned. Kings is a knife fight as the world burns around you. There is nothing honorable or kind or gentle or godly. It's damage control, putting down a mad king. Nothing more.

There are a lot of great mods on nexus, mostly planes skins, but careful about some gameplay changing mods since they modify the same files which only enables some of them if placed together. For instance, all weapons on all planes mod doesn't stack up with this mod that enables all planes, so experimenting is a needed.

Sol redeemed themselves and fought for their country. The Kingdom of Erusea pretty much didn’t exist anymore and they didn’t do anything too bad. Pasternak saved his comrades from sure death to talisman and gave them a chance to flee.
Sol squadron didn't do any war crimes thay just followed orders until the communication went down where they deserted so they could take back there land that was forcefully taken away from them
Our genre is too lacking of quality work like this, so this sort of thing needs every bit of support it can get. It's quite heartening to see it, really... and I hope the momentum grows from here.
Hypoxia's a bitch: Given that she passed out, she's experiencing apneustic respiration patterns and intermittent tachycardia -- meaning she's probably experiencing intermittent hypoxia ... 10 minutes of this caused by G-loc will probably cause: Short term symptoms: - Intermittent memory loss - Intermittent coma - Hyperoxia induced Avascular necrosis (severe burning pain in her legs and feet, possible requirement for amputation) Long term (probably life-long) symptoms: - Trouble moving her body - Hyperoxia induced nerve damage in legs and feet (basically, the burning pain remains) - Reduced comprehension - Reduced attention span - Reduced spacial reasoning - Possible agnosia (inability to recognise things or stimuli due to brain damage) - A "drunkenness", and problems making serious decisions And now the scary ones: - Severe repeat-onset bruising and sores in her legs (caused by the hyperoxia of blood running to her feet and staying there) - Early onset dementia - Seizures (which are probably going to kill her in the long run if not managed properly) You cripple her. It probably would have been better for her if she had just died. And you did this to her. Much of this is surprisingly livable for a decade or so before it gets catastrophically awful. The thing is I don't know if she can actually do her job with these injuries, but given the role she fills in PW, she probably can? In fact, given that hypoxia is actually a shockingly effective painkiller and its VERY addictive due to drop of arterial CO2 causes a peak of extracellular glutamate resulting in anoxic depolarization of neurons, she's PROBABLY addicted to flying with you for exactly the same reason there are so many autoerotic fatalities. Given most people addicted to hypoxia don't KNOW they're addicted to states of hypoxia, she probably doesn't know why she's compelled to climb into the cockpit and is probably making excuses about why she HAS to be YOUR WSO. Crimson 1 is bizzarro Pixy. They both want world peace, but Pixy wants peace through anarchy while Crimson 1 wants peace through world domination. Pixy launches a nuke, Crimson 1 lands one. Pixy loses his laser and airburst as he takes damage, Crimson 1 gains them. And both have iconic fights.
Crimson 1 also reminds me of Captain Hamilton from Ace Combat 5 where he wanted to use V1 tactical nuclear weapons to "terrorize both sides into ending this foolish war!" Except in this instance Hamilton succeeded.

Crimson 1 is one of few villains I have come to despise, not simply because he is responsible for countless deaths, but to his end he is convinced that YOU made HIM use cordium WMDs on his country, all the while claiming to be a loyal Cascadian while pretending not to be wholly loyal to the Federation, unable to see HIS country in any condition except for under Federation slavery. Crimson 1 is pure evil in a way that few villains come close.
Not to mention his contempt for mercenaries came back to bite him in the ass big time. MoTMantle? Crimson dismissed the victory as a fluke. Then in M11, Crimson loses 3/4 of his squadron just to fight Monarch. M18 was where he BLAMES Monarch for everything, even though we can see who the real perpetrators and how he hollowly justifies himself. Kings too. And not to mention that after his last stunt, imagine how many people will react to C1's nuking of Presidia as a perceived act of treachery. Weakened Federation + International Outcast? All caused by his nuking of Presidia. Oh, and many nations began to leave the bloc too.

The beauty of this bossfight, probably one of the best ones I’ve had in literally years. It’s not preventing the disaster, it’s ending it before it gets worse, I feel this game takes a more realistic approach at modern total war... and it’s a symphony of death
My girlfriend was watching me do the fight and she asked... "So you're both psychotic killers, and are trying to kill each other because everyone else is dead." "Yeh...." - "That's, really dumb. This is a dumb, pointless fight that didn't have to happen, and has no real merit or goal in mind. It isn't even to punish or get revenge, but just two egos existing in the same space." - "Isn't that kind of epic?" - The sheer madness of it just kind of floored her.
I felt like it was more of the fact that you now truly see how deep of a cliff he fell off when he lost his mind. The only thing you're fighting for now is to take revenge on a monster. There's no war to stop anymore and it's too late to prevent the tragedy he's just unfolded all there's left to do is to get revenge.
@@Krystalmyth I feel it goes a little bit beyond that. After all, it's been talked about in game how Hitman Squadron is all Cascadian, which would mean Hitman 1 is as well. He was a merc, doing the job and when the war ends he stops fighting. Crimson 1 was delusional beyond all belief by the end of it and tried to duck the responsibility of his actions, blaming you for them, just try and get to you. The rest of Crimson Squad? Well...war is hell and they knew the risks. She is correct in the fact that it was a fight that didn't have to happen though. In the later missions, you can hear Comic and Diplomat wondering why Federation soldiers refuse to surrender when they are so clearly beaten and wishing they would surrender. For Hitman 1 and their squad, it may have been a little personal by the end...but not nearly as personal as Crimson 1 made it when he forces your hand by destroying Presidia all because he thinks your the villain.

This track is amazingly haunting. Normally these themes are made to hype you up to fight the final boss in an effort to save the world. But not this time around. You've already lost. You're alone. Your allies lost or dead. It's just you, your plane and the enemy. I think this captured that feeling of sorrow, loss and ultimate futility. Fighting on the backfoot with only one goal in mind. Revenge.
This track complements the mood of the mission so, so well. A bitter, sorrowful rage. There is nothing left to fight for, but all there is left to do is fight.
When I fought Yellow-13, I felt superior. When I fought Pixy, I felt anger. When I fought Mihaly, it was disgust. When I fought Crimson-1? UNSTOPPABLE R-A-G-E.
When I fought Mihaly and Crimson 1 I felt hate, immense anger, I even insulted them through the screen as I absolutely MURDERED them with my MiG-31B and F-14.

5:38 feels like a stand-off, both combatants are on their last legs as Crimson 1 fires a Railgun while Monarch fires the last missiles he has, it’s all just a matter of who can take which hit now.
Kudos for keeping things epic without straight-up imitating Ace Combat. The PW soundtrack feels very much like its own thing, and it can definitely stand on its own. Although I'm not far enough to have encountered much of it in the game, I like that these tracks seem to have a far greater variety of distinct movements than Ace Combat's.
@@JosePavli I have to agree, having played a metric ton of AC games, only 1-3 of the tracks per AC game really hit it off. Sure they were good and there were definitely some amazing pieces, but not many “matched” the situation and made the gameplay that much better. a lot of them weren’t particularly ‘stand out’ mid battle, mostly just some background noise that wasn’t that noticed having finished my campaign run of PW and pushing through a conquest run, at least 80-90% of the tracks I’ve heard were phenomenal and enhanced the gameplay altogether. (And I’m sure the remaining 10-20% I missed because of the insane missile warnings, haha!) It’s no secret everyone was going to compare PWs everything to ACs everything. And In terms of music, if AC soundtracks was the bar, you could make a ladder with how many times you raised that bar. (And in terms of gameplay/effects, I’d still take PW if I’m honest) You definitely set PW apart from AC, even rivaling, and in my opinion, downright beating AC in its signature area of great soundtracks. absolutely legendary and I look forward to hearing them again and again in the upcoming dogfights.

Also, the whole soundband of this game is packed full of sub-bass, but you've managed to use it to create uneasiness without making it get in the way of the rest of the texture. I have high hopes for whatever you'll do with a bigger budget. Keep it up! :D

"Zero" romanticizes the struggle between Cipher and Pixy, a wistful tune emphasizing the old comradeship and camaraderie between them, while serving as a somber and mournful reminder of how one must kill the other to see the world the way they want to. In many ways it's almost an upbeat tune if it wasn't accompanied by the threat of nuclear horror and two mercs knife-fighting with their planes in the mountains for the fate of the world. "Kings", on the other hand, is intense and blunt from the start, and extremely dramatic and dark. I've heard it be called the anti-Zero and the anti-Daredevil (ironic because I actually found subtle similarities in its melody to Daredevil). It accentuates the visuals of an apocalyptic wasteland down below that's freshly burning- highlighting the frightening prospect that there's nothing and no one left for you to save out there. If Zero is Snake Eater, Kings has to be the The Only Thing I Know For Real. It's harsh, hardcore, yet still cries for Monarch and Crimson's fates. The main difference, I feel, besides the whole narrative of Zero's "you have to save the world!" as opposed to Kings' "what is left for me to save?" is how you're supposed to _hate_ Crimson. You never felt that connection with him as you did Pixy, and while you viewed him as a deluded asshole in previous missions the absolute terror and evil of what he just did in front of you propels him to being an irredeemable monster. In this, *Crimson 1 is the only enemy the game truly encourages you to kill,* and it hammers that point home that he more than deserves to die. There's still that notion that one must kill the other to shift the balance of the world, but it's not so much a sorrowful reminder as it is a battle cry. As opposed to Cipher and Pixy, or perhaps Naked Snake and The Boss, there has never been love or trust between Monarch and Crimson; only respect for one another's skills as a pilot. All that is left for them is their rage and hatred laid bare for them to unleash upon each other- as they cannot do anything else as Presidia, and what is assumed Cascadia itself, crumbles and melts around them. NOTE: Funny, I've never actually played any of the games I've mentioned (AC7, AC0, PW, MGS3, MGR) here.
No. I asked yesterday specifically and i was told shes just unconcious. It wouldnt make sense if she died, because, how would Monarch survived that? I asked in the PJ W Discord yesterday and got the answer she was unconcious.
I like that this song is not crimson's theme, but rather, the battle's theme. Notice how it has mostly a terrifying tone, but sometimes also heroic, and the Monarch motif plays briefly in it too. It's like what the random guy in the bonus dialogue said: they're setting the sky on fire. It's a terrifying battle at a terrifying place. Notice how the song also gets more desperate by the end - possibly hinting at C1's mind when realizing that his PW-MK.1 was starting to break up as Monarch fired more and more missiles at him.
He recently answered in his "Making of" video that while Presidia was the game's main theme with the game's leitmotif and all, Kings was Monarch's and Crimson's theme, having both leitmotifs intertwine with different additions
The mad bastards did it. They gave us a final boss that's just as epic as Cipher Vs Pixy or Trigger vs Hugin and Munin, and not only that but they created a theme that goes toe to toe in terms of epicness with Zero, Unsung War, Megalith, Hush and any other AC final boss theme. I haven't been as invested in a final boss in an AC styled game as I was here since Zero. Good job devs
Honestly this boss fight was 10 times better than any AC boss fight ive ever played even with its day 1 issues. The music is just as good (if not better), the flying is so much more satisfying, and the enemy actually flies intelligently and uses real ACM maneuvers rather than just go around in circles trying to beat you in a pure rate fight. Its so much more satisfying, and it rewards you for actually fighting instead of flying in circles.
@@MCF2233 That is an interesting point of AI behavior that I never thought of before. Also the point of rear ACM vs just a rate fight makes sense. I notice that not just in AC games but sometimes even more serious (realistic) flight sims. I'd lie if I didn't admit that I myself tend to rate fight, but then I grew up on the Falcon series of sims and the F-16 is a big name in rate fighters.
Tbh this is miles better than almost any AC boss. Maybe fighting Pixy is comparable but Crimson 1 fight is just more epic, And I'm a big fan of AC games and PW

Keiki Kobayashi's theme is hope, that the worst outcome is preventable and we need to do everything we can to prevent it. While Jose Pavli's theme is salvation, we're far far beyond point of no return but it's not a reason to stop fighting. Love them both.

I thought it was awesome the soundtrack had its own leitmotif and that you managed to channel that energy throughout nearly the entire soundtrack without getting stale. I only ask since it seems like you've listened to Agnus Dei; I take it you listened to a lot of the AC soundtrack. Anyway, just wanted you to know I thoroughly enjoyed the OST.
@@warhawkfan1234 Thank you! To be fully honest with you, AC was not so much of a reference for the soundtrack. I was obviously influenced by its music because I grew up with it, but I wanted to give PW its own identity. So, AC wouldn't even be in the top 5 OSTs that have influenced me for PW. I'd say a lot of Attack on Titans, for that "End of the World" feel, as you progress through the campaign. Hiroyuki Sawano as well was a reference for some mission tracks. NieR:Automata was also an early reference that has influenced the instrumentation I chose. Code Geass as well has been used as placeholder OST for some missions as well. Add to that all the OST I've been listening to since I'm a child, and you get all the references for PW I guess. :)
I about to write that too. I feel a hint of Megalith and Daredevil. But sorrow emotion from this song is unique. And it blends with other emotion perfectly.

But standing over the ruins of everyone that I hate, the SunD flashing before my eyes, I come to the realization: above all, Project Wingman is fun. None of the disparate parts of this schizophrenic game work by themselves. The combat is not devil may cry. The lore is not tolkien. And we are not going to overcome our pride and prejudice. When you make a list, the game doesn't really seem that impressive. But like a chef, if we mix our ingredients well, cook at thermonuclear temperature and add enough rat poison, we will create a spicy blend that's so out of this world, so balls to the wall, that it makes everything taste perfect. The motivation of our final boss makes no fucking sense. His arc is schizophrenia and his obsession with you is fucking funny. I've never seen someone write a character based exclusively off of projection. But standing where I am now, there's no one I'd rather fight. He's the perfectly goofy antagonist for a game mostly comprised of clown behavior. The music, the drama, the retinal damage. This fight is as ridiculous as the rest of the game... *...and I wouldn't want it any other way"*

I've never heard a song capture the feeling of despair, tragedy, and rage all at the same time so eloquently. This is genuinely one of the best composed songs I've heard in a while.
What I love so much about this theme is how it masterfully incorporates both Monarch’s and crimson 1’s respective themes into it , as though the songs are fighting against each other here in the track , monarch’s leitmotif from Showdown can be heard most clearly at 2:57. And Crimson 1 ‘s from Peacekeeper I at 3:57. There are probably better timestamps that I’m missing because I’m tired at the time of writing lol. But I just love how the song itself is like a battle in its own right!

The first time I beat PW, the audio glitched and there wasn't any music in this mission. Up until the third phase, it was just me, my beloved Chimera, him, his insanity, his PW-Mk.1, and the sounds of missiles. It was more intense without the music, but when I replayed on my second playthrough, I already thought Kings was good. But in-game, fighting the maniac, it became so fitting that I will forever respect Josè Pavli for composing songs for a hane that would have been mediocre without them, but became as good as AC5 with them. The music told the story. The game did the action. Hats off to you, Mr. Pavli. Thank you.
When the narcissist kid on your street gets mad because they lost, then leaves and takes their ball with them. By lighting it on fire and crying about what you made them do. Most satisfying splash in the game for sure.
SPOILERS Hearing this track play while dogfighting Crimson, over what is quite literally hell on Earth, was easily one of the best final boss encounters I’ve played in a video game, right up there with Cipher vs Pixy. To you and the rest of the Project Wingman team: Congratulations. And I hope to see more from you guys in the future.
Not only that, but Crimson's callsign: Crimson 1. Crimson One. And who else do we know that is classically portrayed as red, and is encountered in hell?
Those opening strings (and their later use in the song) really harkened me back to the beginning of Megalith's Agnus Dei, gave me same kind of chills. Dunno if that was intentional, but it really set the same sort of desperate feel for the whole thing, and the rising sense of triumph. Incredible work on the soundtrack, José, every one of these songs has been a banger.

This is gonna be a long one but I wanted to put my heart out for this song in particular. MAN, what can I say about this masterpiece? This beautiful work of art? It's musical genius. I only played and finished Project Wingman last December to early January of this year and I enjoyed every last song that you've made for this game. Every song always captured the feel and the essence of the situations the player would be partaking in for each mission. Many songs like Rea Sea, Consequence of Power, and Fire and Dust (just to name a few because I could name damn near the entire soundtrack) would not be as powerful of a moment without your music. By the time, I got to this song.... this Moment. It was and still is one of my favorite experiences in this game. This soundtrack stayed on the backburner while I was experiencing Now, Kings. With the moment of Crimson 1 taking what was supposed to the grand finale of Project Wingman where both factions initiate a ceasefire and are promptly stopped by his madness through the Cordium missiles, it immediately subverted my expectations coming from someone who had just finished AC7 and was a bit disappointed on how that game ended. It's a fantastic game but what had happened didn't stick with me. THIS has stuck with me. Kings on its own was already a wonderful song to a final encounter. Strong, intense, but also melodramtic enough to make it (especially at 1:44) and it, with the combination with Coronation after left a permanent mark on my mind that turned a 8/10 game to a 10/10 game to me. I wasn't aware of the many, many leitmotifs that were present throughout the game so Kings was a song that I vibed with more off the feel of the music. After completing the game, I was obsessed with your music. Bought the soundtrack off of bandcamp, listening to it daily for months and months. Specifically, I listened to Kings more than did the other songs. It's just that good. Then, I watched both of your "Making the Soundtrack" and learned about the leitmotifs, different uses of instruments and the inspiration of why you made the soundtrack this way. I started listening to the music differently and it only made me love it even more. The duality of both Crimson's and Monarch's ostinatos, the Freedom motif, Hitman team's, etc. The usage of these motifs made every track feel authentic from each other while also using those motifs to tell a emotion set in the story. That's what makes Kings one of my all time favorite songs from you. It's the ultimate mixture of what you have been building up to. Using many different segments throughout the soundtrack to create this extreme moment between our two fighters battle over the Crown over Hell. Congrats on reaching 3 Million, Jose! I believe this deserves way way more views. I also wanted to ask if at 1:44 is that a motif to Peacekeeper I but in a more somber sounding melody?

Bruh that first ten seconds of the soundtrack is pure exotic music, I listen to cool orchestras almost everyday and I haven't heard such a sound that resonated clearly in my ears that made me conclude that this is one of the best compositions to a small yet rising franchise such as Project: Wingman
This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest boss battle themes of any game I have ever played. You didn't just hit a home run with this one, you knocked that ball straight into the stratosphere.
1:41 I still can't get over this part of the song. It's perfect. Absolutely epic yet sounds tragic, even melancholic. Like at this part of the fight, Monarch looks out his canopy and is frozen with utter despair and hopelessness as he sees Presidia turned into an apocalyptic hellscape. And then right after that part, his leitmotif plays, almost as if he's now even further motivated to put Crimson 1 down. It's almost like I can hear an actual narration of the events of that mission through the music, all without a single line of dialogue. Utterly brilliant
I just recently finished this game, yet I keep coming back to this mission just for the hell of it. It's by far one of my favorite missions in the game. Your fighting a complete madman with railguns, bee missiles and other weaponry over the ruins of what once a great city. It's a stacked fight, but you win. I remember my first time beating Crimson, I realized that we were both in the same struggle. We see crimson as a boss, and he sees Monarch as a boss. He thinks for us what we think of him. He thinks we're a madman, the person who started the second calamity, the person who ruined Presidia. He hates us as much as we hate him, and that struck me for some reason. He is a boss to us and we are a boss to him. It's a concept that I haven't seen that much before. But back to the music, this slaps HARD. As soon as you finish Crimson off and Coronation played, I knew that this would be the mission I kept on coming back to. This soundtrack deserves all the awards it could get. 1 guy has checked all the boxes a triple a soundtrack would, and I am so happy it did. Good job Jose, you deserve all the praise you can get for this soundtrack.
Every time the song gets to 0:44, I imagine Monarch chasing Crimson into the clouds over the city while the orange lightning bursts around them. The turbulence of the plane flying through the clouds mixed with the blasts of light and Crimson constantly firing at you just really seems to match the tension and buildup in this part of the song.
“Monarch, when you hear the thunder...” “…when the storm...comes for you...” “...remember me.” This mission is my favorite, not only is it a culmination of your journey, skills, and arsenal, but so is the soundtrack. I can hear other tracks(like Showdown, the theme of the mission you properly fight CRIMSON-1 in, for example) bleeding through, and it is BEAUTIFUL. Let's make a list: -You keep hearing about a special pilot with a crown insignia that keeps turning the tide ever since you let that three-manned flight go. -You fight Cascadia in Bering Strait as backup with all available Peacekeepers and you still lose. You also lose a significant amount of your wingmen. Command orders you to retreat, unable to exact your revenge and frustrations. -You sense that those dogs are slowly turning Cascadia, your home country, into a mercenary haven. Those are the same people that brought torment to the Federation and perhaps some of your comrades. -After the devastating loss in Bering Strait, you are saved by yet another "lowly pilot" who is a Reservist (Frontline 59). -You hear the Cascadians invades the Federation and possibly hears that the same "lowly" Reservist halt, push them back, and foil their plans of ruining Federation Cordium reserves (Frontline 59). - Just as Cascadia is now desperate and is heavily reliant on mercenaries now, The Federation mirrors them by using reservists -- the bottom of the barrel -- to defend the motherland. You are disappointed with the fact that your duties are only being involved in Cascadia. -Possible that you might get paranoid of being replaced. -Possible pride being hurt since "The Best of The Best" is losing battle after battle. They may win some battles but, with that crowned mercenary out there, The Federation is still losing ground. -You hear from the Federation that your nemesis launched a Cordium strike towards Federation Troops and causing a Second Calamity to occur (which is a lie). -Ambushes your nemesis on an active volcano. Next thing you know is that your squadron you became close with get shot down one-by-one. And then you finally follow. -You get rescued Anakin Skywalker style. Possible injury. Burnmarks and volcanic scars and all. -The Federation presented you as the best of the best. Now you are reduced in this pathetic state. -Your Federation's best pilots beaten by "Lowly Mercenaries" twice (or thrice if Monarch decided to fight him after you raided Yellowstone Pre Presidian Duel). -The Federation deems that your nemesis is so overpowered that you needed a f*cking superweapon to nuke him. -Still f*cking loses. No wonder he lost his mind.
Can you imagine if Ace Combat: Symphony ends, the house lights come up, and then the ‘Warning: Crimson’ starts flashing on screens and this starts? People would explode

The best part is “Monarch” actually refers to the monarch butterfly. Look at his symbol closely and you’ll see it’s a fucking butterfly with two wings that look like crowns.
When I played Kings, I played on Hard
And when his Health went down Mine went down with so it was we were fighting on the same. Then on his final stage I lowered him and Lowered Him until I was 10 health and he was very low and I hit one of those lazer things and die.
2nd Time
I had more health than him until he gets to his third stage and thats when we got to the same health (because I had experience fighting him, then I in the final stage me and Crimson literally Traded and we both destroyed each other (Game counts it as a Game over so I had to restart) “he says Predicable while he’s literally about to blow up.”
In the 3rd Same as 2 but I had a little more health then him even on 3rd stage and on the fourth stage we reach the same level of health.
I finally shot him down. My Plane barley flying and that was the End of Project wingman for me.

You're a member of the Colossus Squadron of the 86th Cascadian Air Force, the main squadron of your pilot in Project Wingman 2. You're "Wild 1", Leader of Wild Team, and the silent protagonist of the game.
During the game, you fought the remains of the dying Federation, dealt with their finals aces. The whole game, they were on their knees, scraping the bottom of the barrel, their ultra-nationalist vision and ultra-patriotic indoctrination of their pilots are slowly fading away. At some point, a whole Federation Squadron literally switches side mid-mission because you're team is absolutely fucking them hard. They are THAT scared of you and completely demoralized.
The enemy, both on the skies or land, actively think you're only there to avenge the fallen from Cascadia, a vengeful spirit hell-bent on taking down the Federation. You gain the nickname "the Vengeful Ghost of Cascadia" or simply "The Ghost"
While you're fighting the final boss, the main ace antagonist panics, literally terrified of you, yells in the coms "Why are you doing this! We are losing! You're shooting a dead horse! Let us surrender!"
And your silent protagonist talks for the first time. He answers in a calm, yet extremely furious "Say that to Crimson 1"
The enemy ace freezes and says nothing.
"This is for my home Presidia. May the Federation suffer the same fate"
The ace answer in a terrified and shaking voice "Oh no..."
The battle isn't about the ace trying to shoot you down, he's actively trying to run away, trying to avoid the fate of so many of his friends and fellow soldier. He shoots at you only in defense, trying to out-manoeuver you and escape.
But you? You're out there for blood. There will be no survivor, no prisoner, no one to tell the tale. Wild 1 and Colossus Squadron will strike the federation down for their crime. For him, Hell isn't hot enough for their sins.
We don't talk about P*ospero, they deserved it for naming the city that.

Like how the game also portrays jet jousting similar to Zero and other ace combat games. They also make the soundrack more mixed depending on what the pilots view the player, may it be dark, full of pride, disgusted or anger. It represents their emotion as they always see time and time again how you, the player always felt superior to them in every way.

Megalith Agnus Dei is a deifying chant that states, clearly and without hesitation, that you are the savior of your side and the nightmare of the other.
Zero is a fencing match between grim friends, moving fast as lightning, fully aware of the other's next move and fighting not just the other, but a part of themself within the other.
Archangel is a sky-bound dance between winged saviors, each legends in their own right, with everyone around knowing that the survivor of this fight will take the title of "Ace of Aces."
Daredevil is a triumphant charge against all odds, a single arrow arcing down from the blue sky that hits the enemy champion in the forehead and signifies that, at long last, the tide has turned.
Kings is a knife fight as the world burns around you. There is nothing honorable or kind or gentle or godly. It's damage control, putting down a mad king. Nothing more.

I also recommend multi standard missiles mod which allows firing more than 2 standard missiles if you add more to your plane, www.nexusmods.com/projectwingman/mods/36
Mods installation: go to Project Wingman\ProjectWingman\Content\Paks and create a folder named ~mods and put the mods files that have the extension .pak there, which is how most UE4 mods are installed.
There are a lot of great mods on nexus, mostly planes skins, but careful about some gameplay changing mods since they modify the same files which only enables some of them if placed together.
For instance, all weapons on all planes mod doesn't stack up with this mod that enables all planes, so experimenting is a needed.

Sol redeemed themselves and fought for their country. The Kingdom of Erusea pretty much didn’t exist anymore and they didn’t do anything too bad.
Pasternak saved his comrades from sure death to talisman and gave them a chance to flee.
Sol squadron didn't do any war crimes thay just followed orders until the communication went down where they deserted so they could take back there land that was forcefully taken away from them
The one thing I've loved about this game is how supportive the Ace Combat community has been with regards to its launch.
Seeing the names in the credits, I recognize many of them from communities I once was apart of. It's amazing.

Given that she passed out, she's experiencing apneustic respiration patterns and intermittent tachycardia -- meaning she's probably experiencing intermittent hypoxia ... 10 minutes of this caused by G-loc will probably cause:
Short term symptoms:
- Intermittent memory loss
- Intermittent coma
- Hyperoxia induced Avascular necrosis (severe burning pain in her legs and feet, possible requirement for amputation)
Long term (probably life-long) symptoms:
- Trouble moving her body
- Hyperoxia induced nerve damage in legs and feet (basically, the burning pain remains)
- Reduced comprehension
- Reduced attention span
- Reduced spacial reasoning
- Possible agnosia (inability to recognise things or stimuli due to brain damage)
- A "drunkenness", and problems making serious decisions
And now the scary ones:
- Severe repeat-onset bruising and sores in her legs (caused by the hyperoxia of blood running to her feet and staying there)
- Early onset dementia
- Seizures (which are probably going to kill her in the long run if not managed properly)
You cripple her. It probably would have been better for her if she had just died.
And you did this to her.
Much of this is surprisingly livable for a decade or so before it gets catastrophically awful. The thing is I don't know if she can actually do her job with these injuries, but given the role she fills in PW, she probably can?
In fact, given that hypoxia is actually a shockingly effective painkiller and its VERY addictive due to drop of arterial CO2 causes a peak of extracellular glutamate resulting in anoxic depolarization of neurons, she's PROBABLY addicted to flying with you for exactly the same reason there are so many autoerotic fatalities.
Given most people addicted to hypoxia don't KNOW they're addicted to states of hypoxia, she probably doesn't know why she's compelled to climb into the cockpit and is probably making excuses about why she HAS to be YOUR WSO.
She won't stop unless you go out of your way to not allow her to continue.

Crimson 1 is bizzarro Pixy.
They both want world peace, but Pixy wants peace through anarchy while Crimson 1 wants peace through world domination.
Pixy launches a nuke, Crimson 1 lands one.
Pixy loses his laser and airburst as he takes damage, Crimson 1 gains them.
And both have iconic fights.
Crimson 1 also reminds me of Captain Hamilton from Ace Combat 5 where he wanted to use V1 tactical nuclear weapons to "terrorize both sides into ending this foolish war!" Except in this instance Hamilton succeeded.

Crimson 1 is one of few villains I have come to despise, not simply because he is responsible for countless deaths, but to his end he is convinced that YOU made HIM use cordium WMDs on his country, all the while claiming to be a loyal Cascadian while pretending not to be wholly loyal to the Federation, unable to see HIS country in any condition except for under Federation slavery.
Crimson 1 is pure evil in a way that few villains come close.
Not to mention his contempt for mercenaries came back to bite him in the ass big time. MoTMantle? Crimson dismissed the victory as a fluke. Then in M11, Crimson loses 3/4 of his squadron just to fight Monarch. M18 was where he BLAMES Monarch for everything, even though we can see who the real perpetrators and how he hollowly justifies himself. Kings too.
And not to mention that after his last stunt, imagine how many people will react to C1's nuking of Presidia as a perceived act of treachery. Weakened Federation + International Outcast? All caused by his nuking of Presidia. Oh, and many nations began to leave the bloc too.

The beauty of this bossfight, probably one of the best ones I’ve had in literally years. It’s not preventing the disaster, it’s ending it before it gets worse, I feel this game takes a more realistic approach at modern total war... and it’s a symphony of death

I felt like it was more of the fact that you now truly see how deep of a cliff he fell off when he lost his mind. The only thing you're fighting for now is to take revenge on a monster. There's no war to stop anymore and it's too late to prevent the tragedy he's just unfolded all there's left to do is to get revenge.

@@Krystalmyth I feel it goes a little bit beyond that. After all, it's been talked about in game how Hitman Squadron is all Cascadian, which would mean Hitman 1 is as well. He was a merc, doing the job and when the war ends he stops fighting. Crimson 1 was delusional beyond all belief by the end of it and tried to duck the responsibility of his actions, blaming you for them, just try and get to you. The rest of Crimson Squad? Well...war is hell and they knew the risks. She is correct in the fact that it was a fight that didn't have to happen though. In the later missions, you can hear Comic and Diplomat wondering why Federation soldiers refuse to surrender when they are so clearly beaten and wishing they would surrender. For Hitman 1 and their squad, it may have been a little personal by the end...but not nearly as personal as Crimson 1 made it when he forces your hand by destroying Presidia all because he thinks your the villain.

This track is amazingly haunting. Normally these themes are made to hype you up to fight the final boss in an effort to save the world. But not this time around.

I think this captured that feeling of sorrow, loss and ultimate futility. Fighting on the backfoot with only one goal in mind. Revenge.
This track actually hypes a lot. It feels like you're going something invincible, but at the same it feels like you can accomplish it nonetheless
This track complements the mood of the mission so, so well. A bitter, sorrowful rage. There is nothing left to fight for, but all there is left to do is fight.

Kudos for keeping things epic without straight-up imitating Ace Combat. The PW soundtrack feels very much like its own thing, and it can definitely stand on its own. Although I'm not far enough to have encountered much of it in the game, I like that these tracks seem to have a far greater variety of distinct movements than Ace Combat's.

@@JosePavli I have to agree, having played a metric ton of AC games, only 1-3 of the tracks per AC game really hit it off. Sure they were good and there were definitely some amazing pieces, but not many “matched” the situation and made the gameplay that much better. a lot of them weren’t particularly ‘stand out’ mid battle, mostly just some background noise that wasn’t that noticed
having finished my campaign run of PW and pushing through a conquest run, at least 80-90% of the tracks I’ve heard were phenomenal and enhanced the gameplay altogether. (And I’m sure the remaining 10-20% I missed because of the insane missile warnings, haha!)
It’s no secret everyone was going to compare PWs everything to ACs everything.
And In terms of music, if AC soundtracks was the bar, you could make a ladder with how many times you raised that bar. (And in terms of gameplay/effects, I’d still take PW if I’m honest)
You definitely set PW apart from AC, even rivaling, and in my opinion, downright beating AC in its signature area of great soundtracks.

Also, the whole soundband of this game is packed full of sub-bass, but you've managed to use it to create uneasiness without making it get in the way of the rest of the texture. I have high hopes for whatever you'll do with a bigger budget. Keep it up! :D

"Zero" romanticizes the struggle between Cipher and Pixy, a wistful tune emphasizing the old comradeship and camaraderie between them, while serving as a somber and mournful reminder of how one must kill the other to see the world the way they want to. In many ways it's almost an upbeat tune if it wasn't accompanied by the threat of nuclear horror and two mercs knife-fighting with their planes in the mountains for the fate of the world.
"Kings", on the other hand, is intense and blunt from the start, and extremely dramatic and dark. I've heard it be called the anti-Zero and the anti-Daredevil (ironic because I actually found subtle similarities in its melody to Daredevil). It accentuates the visuals of an apocalyptic wasteland down below that's freshly burning- highlighting the frightening prospect that there's nothing and no one left for you to save out there. If Zero is Snake Eater, Kings has to be the The Only Thing I Know For Real. It's harsh, hardcore, yet still cries for Monarch and Crimson's fates. The main difference, I feel, besides the whole narrative of Zero's "you have to save the world!" as opposed to Kings' "what is left for me to save?" is how you're supposed to _hate_ Crimson. You never felt that connection with him as you did Pixy, and while you viewed him as a deluded asshole in previous missions the absolute terror and evil of what he just did in front of you propels him to being an irredeemable monster. In this, *Crimson 1 is the only enemy the game truly encourages you to kill,* and it hammers that point home that he more than deserves to die. There's still that notion that one must kill the other to shift the balance of the world, but it's not so much a sorrowful reminder as it is a battle cry. As opposed to Cipher and Pixy, or perhaps Naked Snake and The Boss, there has never been love or trust between Monarch and Crimson; only respect for one another's skills as a pilot. All that is left for them is their rage and hatred laid bare for them to unleash upon each other- as they cannot do anything else as Presidia, and what is assumed Cascadia itself, crumbles and melts around them.
NOTE: Funny, I've never actually played any of the games I've mentioned (AC7, AC0, PW, MGS3, MGR) here.

I like that this song is not crimson's theme, but rather, the battle's theme. Notice how it has mostly a terrifying tone, but sometimes also heroic, and the Monarch motif plays briefly in it too. It's like what the random guy in the bonus dialogue said: they're setting the sky on fire. It's a terrifying battle at a terrifying place. Notice how the song also gets more desperate by the end - possibly hinting at C1's mind when realizing that his PW-MK.1 was starting to break up as Monarch fired more and more missiles at him.
He recently answered in his "Making of" video that while Presidia was the game's main theme with the game's leitmotif and all, Kings was Monarch's and Crimson's theme, having both leitmotifs intertwine with different additions

They gave us a final boss that's just as epic as Cipher Vs Pixy or Trigger vs Hugin and Munin, and not only that but they created a theme that goes toe to toe in terms of epicness with Zero, Unsung War, Megalith, Hush and any other AC final boss theme. I haven't been as invested in a final boss in an AC styled game as I was here since Zero. Good job devs

Honestly this boss fight was 10 times better than any AC boss fight ive ever played even with its day 1 issues. The music is just as good (if not better), the flying is so much more satisfying, and the enemy actually flies intelligently and uses real ACM maneuvers rather than just go around in circles trying to beat you in a pure rate fight. Its so much more satisfying, and it rewards you for actually fighting instead of flying in circles.
@@MCF2233 That is an interesting point of AI behavior that I never thought of before. Also the point of rear ACM vs just a rate fight makes sense. I notice that not just in AC games but sometimes even more serious (realistic) flight sims. I'd lie if I didn't admit that I myself tend to rate fight, but then I grew up on the Falcon series of sims and the F-16 is a big name in rate fighters.
Tbh this is miles better than almost any AC boss. Maybe fighting Pixy is comparable but Crimson 1 fight is just more epic, And I'm a big fan of AC games and PW

I thought it was awesome the soundtrack had its own leitmotif and that you managed to channel that energy throughout nearly the entire soundtrack without getting stale. To be fully honest with you, AC was not so much of a reference for the soundtrack. I was obviously influenced by its music because I grew up with it, but I wanted to give PW its own identity.
So, AC wouldn't even
be in the top 5 OSTs that have influenced me for PW.
I'd say a lot of Attack on Titans, for that "End of the World" feel, as you progress through the campaign.
Hiroyuki Sawano as well was a reference for some mission tracks.
NieR:Automata was also an early reference that has influenced the instrumentation I chose.
Code Geass as well has been used as placeholder OST for some missions as well.
Add to that all the OST I've been listening to since I'm a child, and you get all the references for PW I guess. :)

I love that ace combat often as you be some great hero of mythic proportions, and then theres project wingman like "so basically youre a bad guy, fighting an even worse guy".

The first time I beat PW, the audio glitched and there wasn't any music in this mission. Up until the third phase, it was just me, my beloved Chimera, him, his insanity, his PW-Mk.1, and the sounds of missiles. It was more intense without the music, but when I replayed on my second playthrough, I already thought Kings was good. But in-game, fighting the maniac, it became so fitting that I will forever respect Josè Pavli for composing songs for a hane that would have been mediocre without them, but became as good as AC5 with them. The music told the story. The game did the action. Hats off to you, Mr. Pavli. Thank you.

Those opening strings (and their later use in the song) really harkened me back to the beginning of Megalith's Agnus Dei, gave me same kind of chills. Dunno if that was intentional, but it really set the same sort of desperate feel for the whole thing, and the rising sense of triumph. Incredible work on the soundtrack, José, every one of these songs has been a banger.

I just listened to this song on Spotify by an automatic recommendation for three months and have only now found out what it's from. That's neat.
This is gonna be a long one but I wanted to put my heart out for this song in particular.
MAN, what can I say about this masterpiece? This beautiful work of art? It's musical genius. I only played and finished Project Wingman last December to early January of this year and I enjoyed every last song that you've made for this game. Every song always captured the feel and the essence of the situations the player would be partaking in for each mission. Many songs like Rea Sea, Consequence of Power, and Fire and Dust (just to name a few because I could name damn near the entire soundtrack) would not be as powerful of a moment without your music. By the time, I got to this song.... this Moment. It was and still is one of my favorite experiences in this game. This soundtrack stayed on the backburner while I was experiencing
Now, Kings. With the moment of Crimson 1 taking what was supposed to the grand finale of Project Wingman where both factions initiate a ceasefire and are promptly stopped by his madness through the Cordium missiles, it immediately subverted my expectations coming from someone who had just finished AC7 and was a bit disappointed on how that game ended. It's a fantastic game but what had happened didn't stick with me. THIS has stuck with me. Kings on its own was already a wonderful song to a final encounter. Strong, intense, but also melodramtic enough to make it (especially at 1:44) and it, with the combination with Coronation after left a permanent mark on my mind that turned a 8/10 game to a 10/10 game to me. I wasn't aware of the many, many leitmotifs that were present throughout the game so Kings was a song that I vibed with more off the feel of the music.
After completing the game, I was obsessed with your music. Bought the soundtrack off of bandcamp, listening to it daily for months and months. Specifically, I listened to Kings more than did the other songs. It's just that good. Then, I watched both of your "Making the Soundtrack" and learned about the leitmotifs, different uses of instruments and the inspiration of why you made the soundtrack this way. I started listening to the music differently and it only made me love it even more. The duality of both Crimson's and Monarch's ostinatos, the Freedom motif, Hitman team's, etc. The usage of these motifs made every track feel authentic from each other while also using those motifs to tell a emotion set in the story.
That's what makes Kings one of my all time favorite songs from you. It's the ultimate mixture of what you have been building up to. Using many different segments throughout the soundtrack to create this extreme moment between our two fighters battle over the Crown over Hell.

As for your question, it’s not really related to Peacekeeper 1. It is an extension of the first few notes that play during the intro. If you listen carefully you will recognize the same notes played during the first few seconds opening.

Bruh that first ten seconds of the soundtrack is pure exotic music, I listen to cool orchestras almost everyday and I haven't heard such a sound that resonated clearly in my ears that made me conclude that this is one of the best compositions to a small yet rising franchise such as Project: Wingman
This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest boss battle themes of any game I have ever played. You didn't just hit a home run with this one, you knocked that ball straight into the stratosphere.
Crimson 1 ain’t causally gaslighting you, he’s competitively gaslighting you.
1:41 I still can't get over this part of the song. It's perfect. Absolutely epic yet sounds tragic, even melancholic. Like at this part of the fight, Monarch looks out his canopy and is frozen with utter despair and hopelessness as he sees Presidia turned into an apocalyptic hellscape. And then right after that part, his leitmotif plays, almost as if he's now even further motivated to put Crimson 1 down. It's almost like I can hear an actual narration of the events of that mission through the music, all without a single line of dialogue. Utterly brilliant
I just recently finished this game, yet I keep coming back to this mission just for the hell of it. It's by far one of my favorite missions in the game. Your fighting a complete madman with railguns, bee missiles and other weaponry over the ruins of what once a great city. It's a stacked fight, but you win. I remember my first time beating Crimson, I realized that we were both in the same struggle. We see crimson as a boss, and he sees Monarch as a boss. He thinks for us what we think of him. He thinks we're a madman, the person who started the second calamity, the person who ruined Presidia. He hates us as much as we hate him, and that struck me for some reason. He is a boss to us and we are a boss to him. It's a concept that I haven't seen that much before.
But back to the music, this slaps HARD. As soon as you finish Crimson off and Coronation played, I knew that this would be the mission I kept on coming back to. This soundtrack deserves all the awards it could get. 1 guy has checked all the boxes a triple a soundtrack would, and I am so happy it did. Good job Jose, you deserve all the praise you can get for this soundtrack.
You might give the armored core series a shot someday. Specifically 4 and 4 Answer. The storytelling isn't as good but they have similar themes.

The reprisal of the intro tune at 6:24 never ceases to give me goosebumps, this track is unmatched.
Every time the song gets to 0:44, I imagine Monarch chasing Crimson into the clouds over the city while the orange lightning bursts around them. The turbulence of the plane flying through the clouds mixed with the blasts of light and Crimson constantly firing at you just really seems to match the tension and buildup in this part of the song.

This mission is my favorite, not only is it a culmination of your journey, skills, and arsenal, but so is the soundtrack. I can hear other tracks(like Showdown, the theme of the mission you properly fight CRIMSON-1 in, for example) bleeding through, and it is BEAUTIFUL.

-You fight Cascadia in Bering Strait as backup with all available Peacekeepers and you still lose. You also lose a significant amount of your wingmen. Command orders you to retreat, unable to exact your revenge and frustrations.
-You sense that those dogs are slowly turning Cascadia, your home country, into a mercenary haven. Those are the same people that brought torment to the Federation and perhaps some of your comrades.

- Just as Cascadia is now desperate and is heavily reliant on mercenaries now, The Federation mirrors them by using reservists -- the bottom of the barrel -- to defend the motherland. You are disappointed with the fact that your duties are only being involved in Cascadia.
-Possible that you might get paranoid of being replaced.
-Possible pride being hurt since "The Best of The Best" is losing battle after battle. They may win some battles but, with that crowned mercenary out there, The Federation is still losing ground.
-You hear from the Federation that your nemesis launched a Cordium strike towards Federation Troops and causing a Second Calamity to occur (which is a lie).
-Ambushes your nemesis on an active volcano. Next thing you know is that your squadron you became close with get shot down one-by-one. And then you finally follow.
-You get rescued Anakin Skywalker style. Possible injury. Burnmarks and volcanic scars and all.
-The Federation presented you as the best of the best. Now you are reduced in this pathetic state.
-Your Federation's best pilots beaten by "Lowly Mercenaries" twice (or thrice if Monarch decided to fight him after you raided Yellowstone Pre Presidian Duel).
-The Federation deems that your nemesis is so overpowered that you needed a f*cking superweapon to nuke him.
-Still f*cking loses.
No wonder he lost his mind.
