curious if this will be strong enough to support larger plants. Typically you see the coated metal mesh used.
With the ones that are just wire and moss can I just zip tie a plastic backing over the wire on the back?
Would it be better if a solid pole was set into the middle of the moss, for support?
If you have a heavy plant, yes. I ziptie mine to the inside wall of the moss ploes. My monsteras would flop over without the support.

Where can I buy the plastic covering that you put your moss in? Can I use regular moss from outside? I have a ton of wicked green moss in my backyard lol

@thegreenearth what is the plastic insert you used? Where did u find it/buy at? Also do feel that the insert actually holds in more moisture vs bot having the insert or is it about the same?
I bought it from Dollar Tree it is called chopping mats. And yes it helps hold the moisture since the other side will not be exposed to air.
@@thegreenearth thank you for the input I am definitely going to try it. I just created my first two poles and living in FL the moss dries out overnight. I'm afraid if I keep watering the moss the water that goes towards the bottom will create root rot in my plants. I appreciate the feedback

What is the wire mesh you used?
Those are soft plastic garden fencing. They come in rolls of black or green. Any mesh material works for climbers.

Absolutely. Wire, mesh, string, burlap... Whatever you like.

Great video. I use the exact material BUT the green sticks. Do you find this method to be sturdy enough to extend maybe 8 times?
you have to use plant stakes to stabilized them
You can do this without all the plastic too though. I'm really saddened by how much plastic is used in indoor gardening. We love green, but the things we use are encouraging the destruction of naturally green spaces and deteriorating our own health in very subversive ways.
My experience is that these plastic moss poles are a no no... They tend to bend with time, no matter if they hay a stick. Beter metal/plastic covered mesh...
