    WOW, what a find!!! I would have thrown my entire wallet in the counter, grabbed the whole tray, ran to my car and stroked each one while reciting "My pretties". lol

    When I go to England I always go to some small pharmacy shops, usually owned by Indian people, and they usually have some perfumes, hidden gems, the ones before the reformulations and the ones hard to find, love it!

    Lou Lou smells so beautiful.
    First bottle of perfume I bought with my first paycheck. After graduating high school in 1989.

    Jackpot for sure!!! You got a vintage Safari???!!!! Those are sought after! If you like aldehydic perfumes, this one is a good one. I got a new version bottle last week. Not too terribly sharp and dries down to a nice soft green and woody or earthy smell. NICE!

    *You Hit The Jackpot!* I just showed my husband your image of the box and his mouth fell open. lol.
    Tropical Punch is one of my favorite Escada scents, just try it & wait for the amazing dry down. They used to be much better than they are today.
    The Paloma Picasso is half full but it's one amazing scent.
    The Paris has probably lost the top notes, it is darker than it should be.
    Obsession has always been dark, (amber)so it'll be fine.
    Orchidee (Yves Rocher) is beautiful!
    Ma Griffe is gorgeous, will be interested to hear how you feel.
    Safari is one of my all time faves.
    From what I can tell, someone took great care of these!! Only thing, if the rest are still there, you missed some good ones, just saying. ;) Also, good to keep the boxes in case you wish to Swap or Sell because minis are always desirable.

    Love Anais Anais, and you got an older (good) bottle, as I think I see the loop around the brand name, Cacharel. That loop has been missing for years. Lots of lovely classics in this haul!

    So cute! Yes. Obsession is from the early 90s. Your camera did focus well when you zoomed in the bottles & it was appreciated. My Mom had Pleasures, buton me, it didn't last. Hugo BOSS was everywhere in the late 90s! Cheers to thrift stores & smelling great in 2021! Like you, I do find deeper-toned "juices" are more bold. I tend to gravitate to them when I need a boost for a long, intense work day as my mojo. They give me that "umph" factor, if that makes sense.

    When I was 12, everybody in the classroom was simply wearing patchouli essence and I liked it a lot !!!! It was terribly strong though.
    Then, a few girls started wearing a quite fascinating Paco Rabanne fragrance for men, but I don’t know which one it was.
    When I was a teen, I liked Yves Rocher fragrances : Magnolia, Orchidée and particularly Chèvefeuille (still have a bottle and spray it when I want to feel happy). Then I also wore Nahema from Guerlain, Fidji from Guy Laroche, Ivoire from Balmain, Eau de Givenchy (my go to for the summer), l’Air du Temps from Nina Ricci (has been my signature scent for years), Dior Dune, l’Instant de Guerlain, I was in love with Boucheron and Fascinated by YSL Opium (the real one, not the current sugary water called Black Opium).

  • @Elisabeth_Vidgrain
    @Elisabeth_Vidgrain 3 года назад +2

    Thank you so much for bringing back so good memories Arlene ! I’ve been wearing Orchidée when I was a teenager (end of the 1970s), Anaïs Anaïs (that was considered as « irresistible » ) in the 1980s and Loulou in the 1990s.
    I also liked Obsession 🙂

    Thanks for sharing your wonderful find of mini treasures! I love your new do, very chic ;) If you still have Venezia for women by Biagiotti, I would love to hear your review. I have read some blogger raves about the original version, but it seems completely unavailable. So I've thought about blind buying the re-release. Comparison reviews I've read don't favor much the newer version though.

    I’ve worn all of the ladies perfumes from this haul. You are lucky to have stumbled upon this collection. My Signature scents in the 80’s were Paloma Picasso, Paris, Safari and White Linen.
    Dark color means there is vanilla in the composition. The top notes may have faded but the vanilla base is still good. Thank you.

    I just discovered Ralph Lauren Safari vintage via eBay. Two words: Dominique Ropion! If it were a just released niche, it would be lauded by fragcom. It’s a masterpiece! I’m addicted and buying up vintage bottles. I agree with dark juice prejudice. Lol.

    Ohhh a vintage bottle of Jil Sander No. 4! Funny, I had a decant of that for like a year which I hated when I first tried it. It just sat in my drawer and I was going to sell it. Then I just tried it again the other day and loved it. I was reading reviews and a lot of people seemed to have similar reactions. Now I want to hunt down a vintage bottle.
    This whole collection is such an awesome find!

    That's a neat little bottle. 3:29 .
    The best part of a flea market,thrift store or garage sale is the haggling .
    Try not to use the words when bartering on a price _I'll give you_ .
    Instead, be courteous and say something like _Would you consider_ on your opening offer.
    If they reject you first lower price, wait just a second or three and see if they counter .
    If not , try and raise yours a little higher. When doing so, make sure you open with ,
    _I am sorry if I offended you with my offer, but would you consider this_
    Arlene , since you bought so many, you could offer a *Lump Sum Buy* price.
    Lump sum buy offers are great,for it means the seller is getting rid of more then one.
    Watch _American Pickers_ on You Tube to get a feel for this.
    Remember , they are selling it because they want to get rid of it.

    • @DeliciousDelights
      @DeliciousDelights  7 лет назад +2

      Heya! To be honest, haggling didn't even cross my mind. Prices in Canada at thrift stores aren't negotiable so I guess I assumed it would be the same in Holland. I'll definitely have to give it a try next time. Pawn shops are a different story though. :)

    • @JohmathanBSwift
      @JohmathanBSwift 7 лет назад +1

      You're right you're right.
      Thrift stores can be different .
      I have negotiated a few times for better prices at some thrifts ,
      but other thrift prices are set.

    Jil Sander No 4 is a standout for me, I've been wearing it for over 15 years now, I'd describe it as "weird but wearable". It's been years now, but I once ran into another lady wearing it, I said, "Jill Sander?" She was like, "Wow!! You recognize it?!!" Fond memories, it's warm and wonderful to me.

    Awesome find! Obsession was my signature for a while in the late nineties, early 2000's. I still think it's awesome but I wore myself out on it. I used to have Lanvin Arpege as well, it was too strong on the aldehydes for me at the time. I would love to hear your thoughts on Lou Lou, Paloma Picasso, Safari, The Truth and Poeme. Also, I think pdt is a concentration between eau de toilette and eau de parfume...like almost concentrated enough to be a edp but not quite??? I do the same with the color of the juice!

    You lucky girl, Arlene :-) You must have been sooo excited. Most of the bottles have a lot of juice left too. Look forward to hearing your thoughts on some of those vintage classics! I found a good 3/4 full 100ml bottle of Jo Malone Vetyver in a charity shop for £8 a few weeks ago. Boring citrusy frag that lasted the usual Jo Malone 5 mins, but I put it straight on eBay, and somebody offered me £45 on the first day. I took it.

    Wonderful finds! Paloma Picasso used to be my signature, I had a 50ml round bottle with stopper. ... it was to die for, then I had the elongated one with spray nozzle, still good but not as rich and powerful as the first one. Anaïs Anaïs is a beautiful nostalgic powdery floral, Pleasures is also flowery but on the fresh side of the spectrum. Noa is light as feathers but the coffee note makes it interesting. I didn't like Lou Lou at the time, I was more into like floral citruses and chypres, but I understand it's a very interesting scent. Enjoy your finds!

    Amazing mini haul Arlene!! I get that way when I find some good stuff in the antiques malls too :) I have a lot of those in mini as well - some great finds in there, lots of classics that every perfumista should try at least once. One of my own favorite finds was a very old mini of CK Obsession that had partially evaporated into a dark, tarry substance, but I am telling you that is one KILLER fragrance - the best version of Obsession I've ever tried. I have some vintage edp that I am purposely evaporating to replicate it. It's amazing stuff. Some of the mini's and vintages don't age very well, but there are some that really do get better. Oh gosh, I would kill for that Orchidee, and the little YSL Paris :)

      I just bought all four bottles of Lancome available at our local retailer for my wife and daughters, Poeme, Tresor aimed more for the wife and Miracle and Hypnose for the two daughters. I'm extremely picky and Lancome just blew me away with how bold and courageous their fragrances were while remaining somewhat conservative. It gave me the impression of strong outgoing independent modern woman that enjoyed and celebrated all her freedoms yet embraced her femininity. Consistency across the range like there is only one artisan behind the line

    Miniatures vintage perfumes smells awful. I just bought mine few weeks ago and i just wasted my money on it. Smells like old sour vinegar🤮🤮🤮
