Good morning everyone! I hope you’re all well and getting in the festive spirit today ❤ I just wanted to let you know that today is the last day of Uniqlo’s ‘Arigato Festival’ where there are discounts on some of the Heattech range as well as some other items (ie. some down outerwear). I also wanted to add a correction, or rather a change of opinion. In the video I mentioned that I wasn’t all that keen on the parachute trousers because they’re a wider leg. Well, whilst filming the cutaways and putting some outfits together I changed my mind…I now have 3 pairs 🤣 Enjoy the rest of your day and thank you so much for watching ❤️ Happy Holidays x
This is so helpful, thank you Emma 😊 I'm at a point in my life where all I want is to be warm and cosy and all these items just fit the bill perfectly. I also really love your "realistic" style for everyday life, I can relate to you a lot!
Uniqlo saved me from freezing. I remember clearly when I got one of their heated socks on, totally in disbelief, totally hopeless that would exist something able to help me… Thank God I was wrong. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sunday morning coffee with Emma have been my favourite weekend cosy moments ❤ Heattech are my go-to in the winter time in Sweden for a few years now, can't imagine I survived winters without them so far 🥰
Oh thank God. I have one old heat-tech top but didn't realise they had so many options until I visited the shop again recently. Looking forward to this. Heat tech didn't work that well at the beginning but seems really good now.
Very helpful video and seeing the different styles on you Emma , I was in Uniqlo yesterday and the different qualities can be confusing , plus the fact that different neckline options exist ! This range is so appreciated in the winter months .
I adore the Uniqlo bra tops, I have lots of them, I wear them on their own in summer and as a baselayer in winter, so good. If you like footless tights I recommend Popsy or Foxy Tights. I used to have the heattech tops but the arms were not long enough for me, I've just got the M&S versions and they are lovely, perfect layering pieces.
@@EmmaHill Youre an inch taller than me, would you say the arms are long enough for you, its been some years since I had the Uniqlo ones? I like to have my wrists well covered almost to the knuckle for a thermal top, my hands are always cold.
I personally find them fine for arm length and as most have a degree of stretch to them would say they would be fine if your arms were slightly longer than mine as you could pull the sleeves down to cover more of your hands ❤️
Thank you for this video, very informative and detailed! As for Uniqlo heattech, I already own Uniqlo Easy Trousers lined with fleece and I can confirm what you've said. I'm looking forward to try other heattech items in the future 😊
Ive finally bought some heat thech so its going to be great to start to use them. I also got that cashmere blend polo neck jumper. Feels as a great jumper to wear under a blazer. Thank you so much for explaining and showing us att of these pieces.
All that good info! It's so much to go through online or in the store - now I can pick stuff out more easily, thanks Emma 😊 ~your viewer in Canada 🇨🇦 looove those cosies
I have been pondering getting Heattech apparel. I live on Vancouver Island where it never gets super cold in the winter so I don’t need it but it might be worth a try.
Thanks for the information, Emma. I’m going to have a look at what’s online in the trousers/joggers. It’s been absolutely bitter in Scotland and my legs in particular feel the cold.
Yeh we’ve seen on the news you guys have had a very chilly start to the season up there 🥶 Our Winters aren’t quite as cold but I know people that swear by heattech in Canada where it’s definitely a lot colder than here.
I have three of their thermal vests the ones with thin straps more like a camisole, had them about six years and they wash so well and I never would put them in the drier and also keep their shape.
Good morning, Emma! Thank you so much for your recommendations, all the things I bought according to your advice during three years I have been following your channel never disappointed me! Please keep on! (Ok, Zara knee boots I didn't manage to fit into, but I have robust calfs 😢)
Oh! I have been like you, wearing my heat tech for YEARS! I toss them in the dryer and probably shouldn’t. I have not tired the fleece tights-so I’ll add that to the list as well as the turtle neck! Thank you!
Wow, the ultimate Heattech round up! Thanks so much, Emma! I’m in need of some updates/replacements so it’s perfect timing. I love Uniqlo, and the basic colours are so good. Especially liking some of the new colours too. I’m going to watch this a second time, and make notes! 😀. Rumour has it this winter will be colder and snowier, so I want to be ready, lol. Don’t suppose you could persuade Simon to model some of the men’s versions!?! 😉 Thanks again, great job!☃️
Super useful review; i only recently started shopping at uniglow when a local store opened and love the workout wear and socks I've purchased so far. I can't wait to try some of the items you reviewed.
I can vouch for everything you said, including the accessories, my husband and I also have dogs and highly rate the Uniqlo heat tech range. Those fleece lined joggers I own in every colour. Haven't tried the built in bra tops, they're also right up my street, but keep getting sold out in my size every time I happen to look. Thanks for the round up. ❤
I wear their thermals every single day from October to March/April and have done for years. The odd time they're aren't any clean ones i wear a cotton top and freeze to death. I have so many that seldom happens. I could not be witout them. Now i need to try the other items Emma mentions.
Emma you introduced me to Uniqlo 2 years ago and I have most things Heattech, love the fleece lined trousers and all the tops, but why I love them the most is they give you the measurements of every garment which I have been asking Cos to do for ages, brilliant idea. I have 3 different sizes of cuts from Cos . Less returns. Brilliant , love heattech
I love all the jumpers with split hem and if you look at Men’s Teddy zip jackets which women wear also in sale they are amazing , we have in 3 colours and the taupe is to die for . Did you have easy trousers in brown as can’t see that colour
This is so useful, thank you. I'm super excited to be going to lapland in 6 weeks where temperatures could be as low as - 20 so some these base layer items will be ideal x
Hello Emma, thank you for this video, I love Uniqlo but don’t have any of their heat tech pieces, after watching your video I will definitely invest in a couple of their tops. I’m a usually a size XL, would you recommend I size up to the XXL for a relaxed fit?
Thanks Emma for this very informative video about HEATTECH from Uniqlo ❤️❤️I have totally the same love for the pieces as you🤩😍And I have the same issues with their hats ans scarfs and I also only wear the Arket hats 😅👏👏They fit the best 🥰
I am suprised that you look at materials and love cashmere and recommend acrylic products at the same time, such as uniqlo socks. I wonder what these socks look like after a couple of washes 🧐
Well wearing cashmere socks is just not practical, and that’s speaking from experience. Cashmere socks wear very fast due to pressure & friction caused by footwear and walking and that’s why they’re marketed as ‘loungewear’ and not for wearing with footwear. Socks are socks, in winter the priority I want is warmth and they provide that which is why I like them. Mine look just find after washing, a few bobbles but they’re socks so I can’t say I’m concerned by that. Different garments require a different fabric composition, so it’s the same as activewear. I’ve never seen a pair of cashmere sports leggings and nor would I want to wear cashmere when working out 😂🥴 A person can like and enjoy cashmere whilst also wearing other fabrics as well.
I wear wool and cashmere sweaters almost exclusively in winter but always with a heattech layer underneath. For practicality I much prefer to have a layer I can wash and dry easily so I can avoid washing the good stuff. Even though heattech contains synthetics the mix and weave is important, not just the composition - I find heattech is sweat wicking without collecting odors, lightweight and soft. I’ve used the same tops for years and have had no issues with them.
They look just fine after a couple of washes. Great for walking shoes. I wear cotton and bamboo and wool and silk socks otherwise, but synthetic fabrics work for heavy duty wear.
I’ve recently discovered your channel and watched most of your videos till at least a couple years back and absolutely loved them! ❤ Now, I’ve noticed that you prefer natural fibres like wool, cashmere, cotton etc. for many things, especially when it comes to knitwear and coats, but also basics like T-shirts and lingerie. So how come that Uniqlo items that are mainly made from synthetics don’t seem to bother you at all? Genuinely wondering.
It depends on the item. For knitwear (for leaving the house) I prefer cashmere, wool, alpaca etc. However it’s a very delicate and fine fibre so for dog walking or chilling out with the dogs at home I can’t be wearing expensive cashmere because it’s just not practical. For thermals my only stipulation is that they keep me warm. Uniqlo’s thermals do just that so I don’t mind that they’re not made of 100% natural fibres x
I’m travelling to London for the first time in Dec and this is extremely helpful! Thanks Emma! One thing, for the cotton heat tech leggings best worn under jeans, does it keep you warm in late Dec since it’s not ultra warm? Hope to hear back!
I lived in London for 10 years and for the most part December was usually still quite mild but there’s no guaranteeing that with the weather these days. It’s just so unpredictable. I would wear my ultra warm in Jan & Feb, sometimes going in to March. The thing is with London that it’s a lot of in, out, in, out. If you’re using the tube it’s absolutely roasting down there so your body temp will rise and you’ll be stripping off the layers. I always found it’s best to not go OTT with the thermals in December for that reason. I hope that helps x
Love Uniqlo and especially HEATTECH. You did not mention their thinnest base layers in the "normal warmth" range. Which is very thin and stretchy. I am in Canada and we don't seem to have the fleecy version in that range (only special editions but not the standard). But we have several tops and bottoms in this very thin smooth fabric and that is actually my favourite base layer. Is that not available in the UK? Love you r videos!!
Yes it is available but I chose the fleece instead from the classic heattech range because it’s warmer. I personally don’t find the other items from the classic range are appropriate for winter (I was freezing wearing them a few years ago) so I didn’t include them x
Thank you for such an in-depth and informative vlog Emma. I will definitely be investing in the ultra warm leggings. Do you find they're a good length for your height? - Im 5ft 9 too. Happy Sunday to you, Simon and the Bs. Xxx
Hi Emma, I have their thermal joggers but all my base layer thermals are from M&S, the Uniqlo long sleeved tops looked like the sleeves would come up short on my long arms from the pictures of the models on the website but they seem quite long on you. The M&S range is great though and I’ve had them for years and still going strong too xx
Hi. I had a question about the extra warm leggings. I noticed on the inside label that they talked about pilling, I suppose especially in regions where the material is rubbing against itself or other clothes. I ended up not buying because I really don’t like fabrics that pill really easily. I was wondering your experience regarding this aspect. Many thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
Yes they definitely can pill in areas where there is friction. It’s a very easy fix with a fabric shaver though, less than 30 seconds and the bobbles can be removed. For me they’re worn under other items so I can’t see the pilling, so it doesn’t bother me at all, it has no impact on the upper garment as the bobbles are so tiny. I hope that helps x
I bought the more tailored heattech trousers last year which I love, disappointed they haven't done them again this year as was hoping to get some other colours.
That would depend on the temperature. The ultra warm top & leggings are great for colder temperatures and the extra warm cotton blend thermal top and leggings are better for milder winters x
@@EmmaHill thankyou I carnt believe you have done this video just as I am looking for thermals x my friends teenager is going skiing but I don’t want him to be to hot under all the layers xx
They are my least favourite for Winter because they don’t provide enough warmth for me personally. I find them better for Autumn to wear under a jumper before coat weather starts x
Yes they can definitely bobble as there’s a lot of friction being worn under another garment. It’s a very easy and quick fix with a fabric shaver though. I must admit I’m not that militant with my fabric shaver on my heatech because it’s worn underneath so I don’t see the bobbles x

Hellooooooooo Emma 😊😊😊😊😊
I am suprised that you look at materials and love cashmere and recommend acrylic products at the same time, such as uniqlo socks. I wonder what these socks look like after a couple of washes 🧐
