Fun fact per llama’s super chest drop table video. If your hunting for Ber and Lo @ LK, they both have the same odds to drop at players 5 and 7 each respectively.
-Players 5 has “4 out of 65,534” chance to drop.
-Players 7 has “2 out of 65,534.”
I’ll only run players 7 if I’m looking for Sur, Ohm, Gul, and Mal.
My personal RNG:
I’ve found 3 Bers within 6 hours of farming along with a Sur, Ohm, 2 Vex, 2 Gul, Ist, and 3 Mal but still no Lo’s, all on players 5.

All that within 6 hours? I found 2 lems within 700 runs...
This is a great vid. As a non-teleporting character who likes running around using the weapons I have earned and gaining levels, LK is absolutely the best. First of all, the monsters are easy, basically woodland creatures, no demons, nothing shoots at you, half of them run away after a little damage, so you can run difficulty 8 without much fear of dying. Secondly, there is so much treasure everywhere which should not be missed. Most of the higher runes I have found here are on corpses or skeletons, chests and stashes. There is something to loot every few steps and then there's the superchests mentioned here. Make sure you get a map with two campfire constructs, but loot the whole damn place, it's always worth it. Yep it can get boring, so go farm somewhere else once in a while...just don't forget to turn your difficulty down :D.
Okay, this makes me feel a lot better about my dry streak. It's nice to know you aren't the only one suffering!

I know I'm a year late, but there's been some tech found since then that suggests that single player uses a fixed item find seed, affected somewhat by the amount of squares filled in your stash, inventory, and belt. Meaning that if you don't change up your actions prior to running lk in single player on the same map, your going to be repeating the same few drops
This only occurs with forced seed generation. If someone is doing this in Single Player they are cheating and might as well just use a hero editor or something. In non-cheating normal SP game where you reroll your maps, this comment is incorrect.
Great video (and hope better luck)! Used to do LK before Ancient Tunnel for my blizz sorc as well, similar results to yours (no HRs only mid ones)
if you got a shako out of that armor stand before, make sure you stand in the same place every time you hit it, it gives you the same armor drop and then it can roll unique. Mrllamasc taught me this. It's how I got a eth reapers toll in single player

The super chests are overrated, it's all about everything else in the L.K - The super's can only drop up to BER but the random chests, corpses and logs can drop up to JAH

Yes, that was my main mistake too.. clicking only the super's .. all the streamers I watch get their stuff from the damn logs :D

I've done in 6 weeks about 2000 LK runs, I just got 1 MAL from superchest, however I got 1 IST, 1 VEX,1 GUL, 1 OHM, 3 LO and 1 SUR from random corpses, chests and nests. I do these runs with a Bowazon and pop anything on the way to those superchests but I still miss the legendary BER... even when I have never forgotten to keep slayinnnnngggg!!

Yeah. Because Super Chest follow a certain code what you do in the game. So you might be more lucky with opening any containers on the way.
I’ve found 2 sur from super chests. But I’ve found 2 ber, 1 lo, 1 sur, 1 ohm and 1 vex from all the random clickables. Not counting gul and below runes.
So I’ve had waaay better luck on all the other stuff. Super chests are definitely overrated based on my experience.

Same here. I was popping these chests for like 10 years and got 0 hrs. But I got Sur from a random log in LK and a Ber from a boss pack in Lost City. So I’m not doing these LK run cycles anymore, only as part of a big farm route
When you choose level 7 player difficulty, does the game save that choice? Or each time you play you will have to choose the difficulty again
hey is that run counter some sort of program in the background or something you change manually so it shows on streams?
It's a program in the background that a window capture, crop, and chroma key to appear transparent background on stream overlay.
Damn... brutal luck here. LK can be so streaky. I don't keep count but I've definitely gone hundreds of runs with no HRs. Still, I bet I've never gone 1000 runs without a single drop.

You really need to run a lot. I did it for 1 hour a day for 2 months until I got 6 Lo's and 1 Sur for Infinity...

For single player x7 is the best place but how about the Multiplayer Ladder?
Is it better than Travical or cow runs in the same time spend in example 10 hours non stop farming?
sometimes if u only got like 15mins, open up the game, do few countess + pop several of these chests, u might get some pleasssnt surprises. I found few HR this way, and 10-15mins was all it took on a busy day.
Is there a lvlcap on upgrading runes with the cube?

Welcome to the club....It seems common to get mostly "mid" runes, Um, Mal, Ist....same here, not one higher one, but plenty of mid runes. In single player you can nonetheless up the runes to a high rune. Just a few more thousand runs.... ;-)
It's the same for me. Never found anything more than a OHM rune (nowhere). But I'm only at 750 LK runs. Last 200 runs I started to write the runes down. 1 IST, 1 LEM, 1 PUL. But I found 2 Amazon skillers bow/crossbow with 38 Life each. But with runes I'm overall very unlucky. I play singleplayer. Therefore no Enigma yet.
Mausoleum is also a good site for runes. Kick every bucket, open every chest. Found an Ohm, 2 um and a gul after about 15 runs.
Just an FYI, i know this is an old video but people probably still watch it, if you unpack your game files with cascview and use the -direct argument load times are pretty much instant anymore, just leave your fps uncapped. I run LK in 16 seconds using the WP to go back to A4 ofc.

I agree with others here ... strict LK chests is good but not the only game in town. In my experience, major or total clears is equivalent to strict LK chest only farming. I've gotten equal amounts of higher runes from poppables plus you get the added chance to pop a unique. Something that you cannot get from superchests as they are only blues and yellows. While levelling and farming my hammerdin I popped a HoZ, my first one on single player on d2r. Can't get that in the superchests. Plus Sur, Ohm, Ber Lo and tons of charms and jewels/gems for crafting and rerolling. Plus the act of auto-pickup generates lots of gold over time for gambling. Plus, encountering a juicy boss pack means extra xp ... and it's less brain numbing overall IMO.

Like 13 hours but if I wasn't streaming could have pretty easily done it in 10 hours.

How much play time did this take?
On D2R I could get 100 runs in an hour if I was hustling. But since I was streaming and interacting with chat it took like double that.
I found a Vex in a trapped regular basket in LK once! Hilariously that fire trap set off the Blaze proc in the Infernostride boots on my amazon character, so it looked like her ass caught fire from the trap.
Totally worth it since I got that Vex rune after all. :-)
I got a Lo off a Tree Lurker doing LK runs last week. And then a Ber off Trav doing the same runs, cause I was bored of the chests. And then I got an SOJ off the corpse than always spawns to the side of the LK waypoint, no joke. Still never gotten anything worthwhile out of those chests lol
Sorry for that RNG man! I did my first set of LK runs today probably around 50-100 and found my first Sur - I was hyped. I'll try to send some luck your way.

Is LK worth doing at all on players 1? I usually only play online incase a buddy pops on and im not locked into single player.
No the more player count increases the tables that can roll. p1 would be like 8-9000 runs compared to 1500 p7-8 runs. I thinks cows and chaos is your best bet for p1 but ive done 100s of cows and around 400 chaos runs on bnet and never seen anything above an Um. thats why i stopped online
No, Players 7 is really the way to go here.
I love farming these I haven't got a good map with 2 fires yet but this is one of my favorite spots because any class can farm it pretty easy especially on single player

Man, I was doing the same thing when you were live streaming that weekend. I had better luck than you, but your GC luck was tons better. I spent 20-24 hours LKing: 4x Sur, 3 Skillers (Warcries, Curses, Bmasteries), some Mal, a couple Pul, couple Lem, an Um, a couple Fal from Superchests, and a Lo off a normal chest late Sunday night when I quit. Killed my wrist. I didn't log how many I did, but I would guess around your ballpark, clocking about 40 seconds a run.
I don't love the music, but I love these compilation videos.
Just started SP for the first time in 15 years after about 600 runs I count a Sur, Lo, Vex and 2 Mal, very first SP Hell countess and Hellforge rewarded me with an Ist each, I'm on a high right now and was just searching how stupidly lucky I got :'D

LK on single payer you usually always want to do on P7-P8
I reccomend you open more random containers, because I found more runes from those sources.
Super chest always have a certain code. Depending on what you did in the game, so that's why you
got the LEM and IST rune at the same time. Open anything, you never know what you will find

i got the ist and the fal too on the same chest, and it was on online mod but we were 3 on the game. so it was player 3 too. never got anything on chest after this. but i got a Lo and a Zod on monsters lol,

Im 150 away from 1000 and I got 1mal, 1ist,2 Lo, 3 gul, 2vex, 1 Sur. Extremely lucky tbh. possibly gonna go on a dry spell now. Ppl called me a lair on your stream but its Rng my friends. Ive had crap rng my whole d2 career. This is definitely a break for me. Ive seen 1000 runs with people getting 2-3 bers and multiple ohms. Also seen streamers go 4000 plus lk runs without anything above mal. Zero usable jewels out of 100s and only a couple of skillers

Don't have a PC currently so have to rely on Switch version, so Teleporting doesn't seem to be viable for me and high rune hunting.

A harmony will really make the runs A LOT faster, especially when you are running through act3 town.
You said magic find doesn't matter but I thought that having higher mf lowers your chances for runes. I thought so cause increase chance for magic items makes chance for runes less as a side effect. Is this true?
No. MF does not affect rune drops at all. The game first decides if an Item will drop or a Rune or a Gem for example. Only when it is an Item it goes further and decides if the Item is white, blue, set, unique and so on. MF only helps with a higher chance to get Blue, Rare, Set oder Unique Items instead of white items. There is nothing that can influence Rune drops besides player count.

Does not matter. The chests are not afflicted with mf as well. MF is helping only while killing monsters.
Man I wish I could complain about getting too many ist's. I've only found one so far. I have found a cham, ber, ohm, vex then a bunch of guls mals and fals.

Ya bro your stuck with ist fal now out of that chest I did some research and there are ruen drop patterns that will drop out of the same chest. I seen one chick keep getting sur runes and other getting ohms all out of the same chest. If you like the runes your getting keep with these. Otherwise you might wanna switch up the map for another 1000 runs maybe.
run the -direct -txt workaround after extracting the data files, after loading act 4 and act 3 the first game, they load much faster making lower k much fasster.

Players 5 or 7 have the best results imo. I tried both em all. But i no longer play single player. Battle net only.
I've gotten 3 sur rune from LK since d2r dropped and none of them have been from the super chest.
I don’t feel super excited about Um as Pul drops a lot more often, for some reason, and I mean a LOT more.
My 1st time L.K drop 2 ist.vex.ohm. other low runes. Nearly 100 run.

I finnaly got my SP sorc to act 3 decided to try LK on players 7 . With in my first 30 runs I got a ber. 🤯

Players8 is actually a worse pattern for high runes than P7. Nevertheless, I'm doing this for 2 days and still haven't found anything higher than Mal+Pul+Um

1000+ Chaos runs (online solo) in the last few weeks - no high runes. 2 or 3 mid runes... This is getting ridiculous...
I find chaos to be very poor for runes, if you are going for runes try a lvl 85 dungeon with lots of urns, barrels et instead.
I got my first ber rune from Lk
Diablo 2s rune drop rate is what keeps me.from playing the game. Uniques arent GG since runes were introduced. And i dont have thousands of hours to burn on maybe finding runes lmao.
So if they nerf the rune drop rate BS id probably play again
I normally don't do Lower Kurast runs, That's not my play style, i much rather just do full cleanup clears at specific areas, (Kill and loot everything i see in an area) that just way more fun for me, Doing the same run at the same place, over and over i find it repetitive and boring.

put alot of FRW for LK Runs on, then town a3 is skipped in no time.
