The chords section reminds me a ton of the track 'Waves of Babies' by Animals as Leaders. The intro has the same vibe. Very cool.

Holdsworth is possibly the most brilliant guitarist to ever live. The dude literally created his own scales (from our 12 tone system), and formed his own chords out of them. Imagine if he would've played in a popular rock band. He might've become the billionaire that he deserved to be.
By the way, I'm sure you already know (because you clearly have a lot of knowledge!), but those chords you were demonstrating can also all be described as inversions of 7th chords.
