    I really love this and I need to make one so I can take things with me on trips. Even if it's just a trip out to the barn to feed our barn cat Leah. I like to spend time with her out in her office in the barn and if I had one of these, I think I would actually be able to work on projects without her "help".

      My grandmother used to make something similar with the bottom 2/3 of a bleach bottle. We used it to carry home our wet swim suits.

      @@johng423 it's uncanny to think our grandparents were recycling before we knew what that even was. They were certainly smart to re use items in a valuable way

    Good job. Love this idea but man it looks small for what I would take with me. LOL. I am proud of you for putting video's out like this. Not a lot of men would do it and you sure would not get a man from back in my day to do something like this. Keep up the good work. Love watching you every week just to see what you are going to do next.

    Very good video. I love making, and having, bags for my knitting. Rob you might find it easier to sew the round part together first and then add the circle. I find it will sew on without too much fiddling. Anyway, thanks for all of your videos. A.

    Hey Rob, I'm a male knitter, and crocheter. Some knitters don't like velcro because it can actually snag and ruin finer yarns like cashmere, angora, qiviut, and even merino wool. I think snaps, magnets , or buttons would be a great solution for that. Also, many of the men in my knitting group (we have about 5 at my local knit night) would prefer a canvas or stiff denim case with grommet eye loops for a pull tie but lined with cotton so it won't be abrasive on finer yarns. Do you have any tips on fabrics, threads, or sewing machine settings and feet?

    • @johng423

      If I used a plastic container that is lightweight, such as a plastic coffee "can", I would probably keep it all together. The added structure might keep knitting needles from getting broken.

    • @ManSewingVids
      @ManSewingVids  8 лет назад

      Sorry about that Susie! It is a binding foot! Do you have anymore questions or concerns that I can answer?

  • @cassaphrasis
    @cassaphrasis 8 лет назад +1

    can you pleeeaaassseeeee explain topstitching!!! I get that it's "stitching done on top". but how? "with a top stitching needle, of course", yes, I get that. but how exactly? I am so confused by that. that and "scant quarter inch"
    Those are two things that no matter how many people or many times I ask...no one answers.

    • @jayne4359
      @jayne4359 7 лет назад +4

      Top stitch makes a row of continuous stitches on the top or right side of a garment or other article as a decorative feature.
      A scant quarter inch is just slightly smaller than a quarter inch.
