I got back to knitting after I saw your video about the Claude sweater. It really shows how much you love your knitted garmets and the joy they bring you. Keep doing what you love!

I loved all of your sweaters, and knowing how much time and love went into it makes me so thrilled! Thanks for sharing, I love seeing knitters and their makes, I just finished a crochet dress that I’d been working on over a couple months here and there, so it’s great to see other yarn crafts!

What makes Anker sweater more flattering is that it is a basic yoke with a few raglan increases. It looks gorgeous on you. It is a method which improves the fit of a basic yoke shape a lot and gives more room for arm movement. I am also a big fan of sweater knitting. I stopped making classic basic yoke patterns at one point because of fit issues. You can meet the gauge and measure all the calculations, the sweater looks perfect UNTIL you move your arms up. A good fix is using a loose gauge and a yarn with good drape). But in my experience drop shoulder, saddle shoulder or raglan give much better finished results and much comfy sweaters.

I do love a good raglan or drop shoulder! Thanks for comment ☺️

It was really nice to see your knitted sweaters and your thoughts about it. I really love the asymmetrical cardigan and think its perfect in black. That one is my favorite one.
I started sewing 43 years ago and over the years I've had to cull my wardrobe due to weight fluctuations or just mentally and emotionally outgrowing something. I donated or gave them away. Some things I see others in this town wearing now and then. I mostly come across this with things that I sewed for my kids. I do understand that it's difficult to start culling items that don't work out how you want because of all the work put into it.
On day, I may get a knitting machine. I can't knit without screwing up my arthritic hands. I crochet simple things like trivets or dish rags. Anything more complicated is too frustrating for me. I do crochet rugs.
If you know anyone who will knit for me, let me know and I will pay for materials and labor.
As to the sweater that pills easily, use a lint brush rather than a sweater shaver. A lint roller to start and then the brush. It could be me but no matter how careful and what brand, I ruin sweaters with shavers 😢.
I tend to like most of my sweaters to be big and baggy. A feeling of being swaddled in wool 😊. My weight and figure fluctuates a lot and I put on or lose weight depending on the state of my health. Sweaters tend to be the one constant that gets me through.
My favorite knit of all are thick and chunky wool socks.

I love hand dyed yarn that works well for garments! I just wish my color palette liked more variety than it does. I can’t bring myself to wear anything in the pink purple or blue range

That’s fair! I’m definitely leaning into colours these days

Hi Cassie, it was really interesting to hear your thoughts on your knits after you’ve had time to wear them! I’m excited to see how the hand dyed yarns work up for your next projects. Side note: I was wondering if you sold your orange bobble sweater? I just noticed it wasn’t mentioned in the video and I was curious.

Good memory! I did sell it - it wasn’t fitting quite how I wanted!

Personally I love the chaos of knitting a striped garment. I wish I could show you my current make which is a pure cacophony of different coloured yarns but beauty emerges from it🤩

Hey! Is knitting much harder than sewing? I've been sewing for a while now and naturally am also considering other crafts, like knitting. However I am always super intimidated when it comes to it - for sewing it seems so easy to conceptualize how a garment is constructed and knitting seems like a big big mystery to me. 😅
Anyways, I always enjoyed watching your videos and am glad that you're not putting so much pressure on yourself anymore! ❤

I wouldn’t say it’s harder! It’s a different skill set so it may take time to get the hang of it (like anything else) but it’s very satisfying once you do!
And thank you! I’m feeling good about the change of pace!

Omg i want to shave that grey sweater so bad!!!! I think after you shave it, it wont ever pill as bad again. Ive had that experience. I heard that pilling does NOT indicate low quality yarn, it can just happen. I know you used nice wool. Anyway...shave it up and wear it to bits!!!!
