Most criminals in those places do assume and hope you dont have a gun. If it was as ubiquitous to have a gun in those places as it is in Wyoming and self defense laws made sense (stand your ground) then crime would be lower most likely.

I’ve lived in Wyoming my whole life, and yes, I can attest that we don’t really like it when people come and try to change things, just come and enjoy what we have, because while it might not be much, the ability to easily find a place to be alone is incredibly under appreciated until you find yourself sitting in a 10 foot tire watching the sun go down.

My family is thinking of trying to find a place somewhere up there. We live in oklahoma atm. Our justice system here in oklahoma is getting worst every day. Liberals are taking over day by day coming from Tulsa. We want peace. Somewhere quiet but near a good-sized town so the ladies will have shopping and such. How hard and how much would it be to just purchase around 10 or so acres with a house or building one? The economy in oklahoma is VERY low and there are not many good jobs at all. God we just want to live quietly, away from the government's BS, away from drugs, gang violence, thieves, and scum bags.

As a resident Native American from the eastern Shoshone tribe, Yes there is a drug issue and poverty but not all of us are like that and not all of the rez is like that. It would of been nice for him to mention the beadwork and art made by the locals sold at the store as well as the museum that hold stories and history of my culture. The pow wow is a big deal as well and many of us hold on to our old sacred ways and practice them today where we do sweat lodges and Sundance. The community also holds gatherings for people to learn how to make Gotzup (chokecherry gravy), There is also a Program where we can go to learn CrossFit. I was kind of annoyed that you under looked the reservation by just mentioning drugs and poverty and casinos.

he was talking about the general area. The truth is the truth. Drugs, gambling, and poverty envelope casinos. Because those habits coincide and are part of human nature, The same can be said for florida or Nevada. He didn't say the indigenous residents are responsible or that they have nothing to offer. People thinking of moving need to know the harsh truth. People visiting for tourism can look at sliver linings. i think he was fair in the way each area or district was represented. Miami has alot to offer but i would be lying if drugs and crime weren't prevalent.

When there is certain environmental challenges and not everything is convenient it makes life a little more interesting and rewarding. Also when people say there’s no jobs or nothing to do they’re full of crap. I have a lot more opportunities here to do what I enjoy and I have more of a future here as young person than I would in a state like NJ where the average cost of living is exponentially higher. I also enjoy more freedom here than I would in any other place I’ve lived I totally understand the wariness of out of staters but people here are generally kind and quick to “let you in” and be supportive if you show interest in actually living the lifestyle.

Hasn't snowed like this since I was a child, really. I've been joking that it was a snow apocalypse, a snow-calypse if you will lmfao but this storm really wasnt anything compared to snowstorms the pioneers had, or the ones in the mountains for that matter.

The people here are typically nice and helpful. And you're dang right about that wind, it can get up to hurricane force 60+ mph, it never goes away but just decreases in the summer lmfao
And you forgot to mention our hot springs, Thermopolis!

I’m a Cheyenne resident, there are quite a few tech companies i the Cheyenne area. Microsoft has a data center here, and a second is planned to start construction. Echostar is located east of cheyenne, they employ close to 200 people, Walmart and Lowe’s have distribution centers, UPRR, Frontier refinery all employ lots of people. Wyoming gives lots of opportunities.

It isn't the massive stuff you would hear about in the papers. It's an issue of comparison when scale is so different.

I love Wyoming. Funny video, but this place is one one the best kept secrets in America. If I wasn’t from sc I would want to be from Wyoming.

They complain about it, but, if it weren’t for Colorado, Wyoming’s economy would be about half as big as it is. There is a reason why they advertise Wyoming in the Denver area so much. People from Wyoming have no idea as to what it’s like to be invaded by people from another state where they actually move in to stay, not just to build a cabin, or stay in a hotel for a few nights. It is a nice place to visit though. Go if you can. It really exists, people are very nice and it’s beautiful. If they actually had an economy that would support more than four industries, I might live there.

There's a reason most live in SE Wyoming: It's close to Denver and even closer to Fort Collins.

@@ahuehuete4703 Cheyenne is great. But I don't want it to grow to big. The more Colorado and Texas plate I see, the more I worry. Visit, but that's all.

@@joanndegiorgio647 Since I've been alive, people in Colorado have always said the same thing about Texans and started saying that about Californians about 25 years ago. In reality, people are moving here from everywhere. I hope Wyoming can maintain what it has, but there are several things that will probably kill it. Tourism dollars are a gift and a curse. People show up, spend their money and they leave at first because their jobs are somewhere else. However, they realize how nice it is and then they want to stay. Then they and the business leaders in your community figure out how to make that possible, and they start moving in. The only way to get away from it is to move somewhere nobody wants to live, and there's a reason nobody wants to live in those places.

@@joanndegiorgio647 I don't think you have much to worry about in Cheyenne, or Laramie. FWIW, I also see plenty of Cowboy plates in Fort Collins, especially on weekends, I'm sure the merchants don't mind.
