    I wish the people and the town all the best. This is pretty sad. We have screwed up this world and left future generations with a mess on their hands. They'll have to clean up everything we have done to make their lives miserable and more hopeless than our own.

    I lived in Scunthorpe for 8 and half years back in the 80s. Scunthorpe Steel will remain and will not close. If its closes the town is dead. Scunthorpe United will one day be back in the football league. The view looking down the hill to the garden centre westerly is breath taking. It's beautiful amazing. You don't get in Southport where I live know. I am proud that I lived in Scunthorpe

    People make the place not the other way around. Stop blaming the government, Brexit etc. It's up to the people who live there to make it a decent place. What youth centers? Kids who want to achieve more have their day full of schoolwork, sports, etc.and no time for loitering. Education is put at the bottom and quick money at the top and most youths living thinking the world owes them something.

      Your hate for this country makes no sense. The French have said they will block all french ports if they can't fish in British waters after no deal. Looks like they are thinking again. 70% of UK fish goes to the French. Unmm. Lovely cheap British fish.

    I grew up and live in scunthorpe. The steel works are NOT a vital part of scunthorpe. Scunthorpe was NOT built on the steel works it was a viking settlement and it is a wonderful place and a lot better then the media makes out. And yes i agree ther are some bad parts, just like every other town/city

    • @jono_high
      @jono_high 4 года назад +3

      You're deluded if you think that the steelworks isn't a vital part of the town. Scunthorpe may not have been founded on steel, but it grew exponentially because of it.

    • @ethoin8099
      @ethoin8099 4 года назад +1

      It is a vital part of employment of scunthorpe but most people think scunthorpe revovles around the steelworks

      Aye, Scunthorpe existed before the steelworks but not as we know it now. Scunthorpe was naught but a village before the works arrived and if not for the works would have stayed a village.
      No works, no Scunthorpe town. People don't say it for no reason.
