Thank you for watching!!! We hope you had a great long weekend! You can find more of my favorite time management tips here (including how I keep my to-do list!): ruclips.net/p/PLZ-AWUEixtg1PlktzqzAvxx0yrv-SsMWH - Dawn
I had a great weekend away with friends because: 1. Packing was simple and quick due to laundry and dishes being caught up. 2. We left a tidy house almost without even trying because inventory is becoming easier to manage every day! 3. Now that we are home it was easy to unpack because everything has a home. I cannot understate the change that has happened in our home thanks to your wisdom and encouragement on so many fronts. I love you, Dawn, and hope you are enjoying a well deserved vacation!
The original frog quote was by favorite author Mark Twain. "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."
Yeah, Brian Tracy mentions this quote in his book and basically the whole book derives from it. BUT there's so much wisdom Brian gives in that book. I seriously don't know how someone can take anything away. I read it and listened to it. It's worth memorizing, hehe...that's how good it is 😊
When I really dread a task, I’ll set a timer for 20 minutes. I know that I can always handle 20 minutes, so I’ll tell myself “okay, I’m gonna do this for 20 minutes and see how far I’ll get it done”. 99% of the time the task is finished before the 20 minutes are over. A timer always makes me more productive. But I do have to say that minimalism has really helped me with this, because prior to minimizing my head was just too full to even start a task. Now my house feels better so I have space for other things.
I also like to set a timer for big tasks i don't want to do, but i prefer to call it my home blessing time. . .eating a frog is the worst image i can think of, i'd rather bless my family our home our things with gratitude for 20 minutes at a time. It's a much more positive feeling than .. eating a frog! 🤢🤮😁
OMG! I watched this video and then adopted the "eat the frog" mentality and decided to tackle some paperwork I have been putting off. I went to handle it and while doing this noticed there was almost $800 of fraud charges on our bank account. called the bank, cancelled card, they refunded our money and a new card is being mailed out all within 20 minutes! Thank you!!!!!
Dawn has had a huge impact. I've switched to eating frogs several months ago and it is changing my life. It's built my confidence because I feel in control . I also created a project book (wire-bound blank book with lined pages) Here I list the things I want to accomplish, Then I divide them up into projects were I list the steps and supplies needed to do each project. I leave extra room so I can add anything I've overlooked. This takes stuff off my mind and I feel more relaxed I then take my planner and list the "To Do's for the day, including any frogs and I do the frogs first; so they are not hanging over my head. I've also learned to be more honest with myself as to what I can accomplish in a day. I find I am taking better care of myself and not stressing so much. 💖😎
You're an amazing teacher! Love your timing when you talk, your energy (not too much or too little), how relatable you are, how you organized the information you are sharing, and the overall length of the video. Very engaging! Im a licensed counselor and very impressed by your approach :) What a joy to stumble upon your video!
Just ate a frog. I needed to schedule a recall on my truck at a dealership where I didn’t buy the vehicle. I’ve been putting off the call for three months and finally did it today. The recall will be taken care of in one hour tomorrow!
Let me tell you this stranger has helped me so much and I am only 13 years old. For 5 years I had these terrible head aces. But wants I started a minimal life style they went way I did not know it was because I was a hoarder who new. Thank you so much Dawn for helping me. Now lets go convince my mom to be a minimalist.
Another thoughtful, inspiring video- thank you. You are so right. I've had medical issues this year, and there are a lot of frog tasks I have to get through, now that I'm starting to feel better. Coincidentally, just yesterday I had a great energy day and decided to clean my sewing room, declutter it, and rearrange. It was more work than I've done in one day in 6 months. I'm tired today, lol, but my spirits are so high, because the room looks fantastic and I feel a huge sense of relief! It was a big frog, but so glad I ate it!
I always had junk and clutter throughout my house. My wonderful workable solution has been to do 5-minute pickups for each room. I take my timer with me from room to room. Six rooms takes a half hour. In about 3 days most of the clutter is gone! Works well and what a difference. I also include my kitchen table for 5 minutes where incoming stuff gathers.
I just got my 4 wisdom teeth out, which I have been putting off for about 3 years. I was afraid of being under anesthesia and was dreading the expense and the whole painful ordeal. When I finally called to set it up, it turned out that using novocaine was an option instead of anesthesia, which was a relief. Then when it came time to get it done, it was much quicker and less painful than I expected, including the recovery. It was also about a thousand dollars less than originally quoted because it was done using novocaine and because the extractions went so smoothly. I am so glad that it is over and done with, and as with most frog tasks, it wasn't nearly as horrendous as I had anticipated! :-)
I love the tip about focusing on how good it will feel when the “frog” task is done! I usually think how bad it will feel to be doing it... so I procrastinate... It’s all about switching your perspective! Brilliant! Thank you 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing this. I had a keychain, once upon a time, that I had long forgotten about... I can't even remember where I bought it... that said something to the effect of "If you eat a frog first thing in the morning, nothing worse will happen to either of you the rest of the day."
There is a book called Mini Habits by Stephen Guise (also on blinkist) that may be helpful for anyone who feels that their frogs are too daunting. Like say working out to get healthy, one example could be the habit is just getting ready for the workout and then you can stop if you want but usually it will naturally lead into you working out. It's easier to start when you know that you don't have to do the whole thing to get the win. As long as you showed up and consistently did the mini habit, you're winning.
Sometimes those “frog tasks” are very daunting/overwhelming. So I break it down to super small baby steps. I write it all out so I can visualize the process and see myself getting started. If I can get the very first step, I usually get enough momentum to finish.
You are my fave RUclips channel. ❤️ I appreciate you so much. I’m a pastor’s wife and have 2 daughters ages 16 and 9 and a son who went to Heaven 11 years ago. 6 years ago, I suddenly became sick with an unidentified autoimmune disease and have been very sick ever since. 4 years ago, I had multiple strokes and thank the Lord that I have no major lasting effects from them. A year ago, I started having trouble breathing and was just diagnosed with a rare disease where my muscles do not accept the oxygen my heart and lungs produce and instead turn the available glucose into lactic acid. This is part of my breathing problem and there is no known treatment. There are clinical trials in a couple of states, but my specialist is trying cardiac rehab with me first to see if that makes a difference. I say all this to say your channel is such a help and inspiration to me. ❤️ God bless you. You are reaching people in ways far beyond what you realize. ❤️
I decided to use an old unused notebook to get my thoughts down for the day and list how i'm going to tackle becoming more minimalist... In is is a bookmark of a frog prince. I figure its a sign... thankyou for you videos, stay safe! x
While watching this video, I immediately thought of a work "frog" I had to complete the next day. I set it as my first task of the day, and found I allowed myself to be distracted from that task no less than four times! But I eventually got it done and was SO relieved!
Thanks, Dawn. Great reminder about “eating the frog”. Along with all the helpful ideas you shared, I also find it helpful to ‘set an intention’ before “eating the frog”, to visualize the outcome in a positive light. For instance with the dentist bill example, a sample intention could be: after the phone call I will have a smile on my face because the issue was resolved quickly and easily. Athletes use intention setting (visualization) before their sporting events to help with their performance. It’s amazing how well it works. BTW I finally did one of those “frogs” last week where I used your “boundaries” technique for all my clothes (from one of your previous videos) and when I was done, I delivered 7 bags and 1 box full of clothes to a local thrift store. It gave me great joy on multiple levels. Bring on the frogs! 🐸 🐸 🐸 😁
Found this video yesterday. Ate my first frog today. I appreciate your videos. This one is a bit different from the others I've viewed. Didn't realize how much I needed this one. Thank you so much for sharing.
I like how you put it in terms of time. "It's [only] 10 minutes of discomfort" to actually address it! But if it is put off, it grows and grows and grows.
Oh boy.... I am literally watching this as I procrastinate with calling the orthodontist to reschedule appointments around the new (not so clear yet) alternating school calendar! Let me hit pause and I will come back!
You are such a blessing. You have helped me so much on my minimalist journey. This eating frogs thing is just one more stress reliever making my load lighter. Thanks so much!!
This is the single most helpful RUclips video I have ever seen!! I have so many overgrown frogs at home and at work and this has changed my mindset completely. Thank you so much for posting!!!
In my job as a receptionist I didnt realize that I have to eat the frog every day. But I am a procrastinator so I always push the frog to the end of the day. Now, after this video I keep telling myself the day will be easier if I just eat the frog in the morning! I'm working on it!
I know that even a list of things with frogs and cake can allow you to see that you are doing things. Then after a few days, try the frogs first approach. Baby steps cake slices and one frog.. Then frog first and then a cake slice, soon you will eat the frogs at the time you get a frog because you will have cake after.
I really need to implement this in my daily life! I got quite a bit of social anxiety so making phone calls or taking appointments or dealing with taxes/bills/other bureaucracy stuff feels really really hard for me. I always end up putting those tasks off and then they grow bigger and more urgent and I feel bad about it. I should really just deal with them as they come in and not let them haunt me.
Dawn, spending time with you never feels like a waste of time😁 I saw your last video about this and have gotten better about not always putting off the hard stuff. Before this method, I would always procrastinate and become overwhelmed . Thanks so much for your help ! I threw out some old to-do lists the other day, and I realized how much stuff my family and I had actually accomplished. It felt so good💛 I decided to keep a running list at the back of my planner. A list of tasks that we have finished; as a reminder of all we have gotten done. I think we'll read it at the end of the year and have a party to celebrate😉🎉😁
I like the Visualization piece - imagining how you'll feel when it's done, when you overcome the perceived discomfort. And how you gain momentum - and builds confidence.
Not super related to this video, however as I was watching this video saw this and just had to tell someone. I decluttered my son's toys for the second time today. The first time last week I get rid of his large play kitchen but kept the play food as he is 2 and using it to learn food names. He is playing with the food and started pretending the sofa is the cooker🤗 I'm so happy he dosen't miss the play kitchen and is being more imaginative. Plus I'm more happy with how tidy the house is and how quick it is to tidy up. So a great big thank you.
Perfect timing, Dawn! Fall is my preferred season to catch up, examine priorities, & organize my calendar. Much more so than than January 1. Maybe because the kids went back to school so I had a moment to breathe & devote intentionality to my planning. Great discussion on eating frogs, too! We all have them 🐸🐸🐸
I did read this book and it is probably what changed my mindset to go from listening to people’s comments and judgements of how I run my life and household, to know that they don’t live in my shoes and if they looked at their own life they have many frogs in their life too. Great idea. Green highlighter at the ready!
This is one of the best things I’ve done to increase the productivity of my days! Thank you Dawn! I’ve been doing this for a while now (Prompted by an earlier video) and it has been SO beneficial. In the past I saw myself as a procrastinator so It’s rewarding for me to have the capacity to identify and take care of things in a timely manner. And Blinkist - yes! Still relatively new to me but most are the perfect length for our carpool commute to school. With a captive 4 teenager audience (I hold all the phones until we get to the school), this morning we listened to Eat that Frog and it was awesome! What great skills for students to develop. Next week - Atomic Habits 😊
I have the same book at home! Bought it many years ago, it was indeed a game changer. I need to read it again for some new motivation. Speaking of, I plan on doing a cross stitch of the Nike symbol and their motto "Just do it" and hang on my wall where I can see it most often, as a reminder. Also, besides frogs, I found another great tip for getting things done (maybe from you?), which is basically "If it takes less than five minutes, do it right away". It's all about creating good habits!
I have realized mine is cleaning up the kitchen and starting laundry. Every day I have to write it down too🙃 staring the day with a clean house is so nice, especially when everyone is at school
Dawn, I'd also emphasize disaggregating some Serious Frogs. For example, I have a friend who desperately needs to get marital therapy (not me - I'm divorced :-)) and she's just absolutely paralyzed. It needs to be broken down into pushing her husband, finding a therapist, figuring out a compatible weekly time, figuring out what insurance will cover. You get my point. I've encouraged her to watch you.
I love planners. I’m retired now, but when I was working I took a seminar from the Franklin Planner Co. It was eye opening. I’ve tried multiple fancy planners in the past. But in the interest of cost savings and simplicity, I use a simple dollar store spiral tablet. I title each page with the day and date. Make a list of the things I want to accomplish. My favorite part is crossing things off. If there are things left over, or projects that continue for several days, I just add it to the next day page. Another plus, is that I can make notes that I can refer back to in the future if necessary. Excellent video. Thank you for all of them.
Awesome video! I read the book years ago and have always loved the idea of eating the front first, because as Mark Twain said, once you eat the frog, nothing worse is going to happen to you all day.🤣🤣 What I love about your video are the visuals, frogs everywhere! Really does make the idea more impactful! And I love your smile and energy. Thanks again.
Thank you for this! I love what you said towards the end...there is no perfect planner. It is not the planner”. I have wasted time and money on many planners thinking it will change my life when deep down I know I just need to change my habits. For me, my main frog is taking the time to plan! Taking the time to make a list.
Dawn. You are so good at creating content!! I love your videos! This video is super helpful! Thank you! I know the Lord is using you to help others more than you know!
I love Blinkist too, and just yesterday recommended what you said about 'what thing would you do to make you day feel like a success?' to a client who is stuck in procrastination mode. Thank you for the energetic encouragement! I will try to get her to watch your video on what to do when you get stuck. I need it too.
That motivated me (or made me feel guilty🤔). Stopped the video half way through to do two tasks I had been putting off! Finished watching now. Two tasks down, three to go!!
I went through a phase of using a 3x5 index card and I would fold it in half, first side was my “frogs” aka the stuff that had to get done, the other side was stuff I would like to get done and I wasn’t allowed to look at that side until I finished the first side. This just inspired me to get back to that!
One frog I would like to include would be decluttering a pile of stuff (in my case papers from years of putting off such as old school and work papers (I used to teach). But I plan to get those things done on the weekend. Every weekend or sometimes every other weekend I try to tackle a pile of things to sift through. Been decluttering since I downsized in mid March!
I love this! Several weeks ago I just made a daily page for each day of the week with set tasks. I’m a homeschooling mom to teens & a toddler & I run a home daycare. I jot down tasks that fall outside of my daily routine and I’ve been so much more productive and I’m able to juggle multiple responsibilities without (too much) anxiety.
This was great. The best explanation and solution...to those dang frogs....something that has been bothering me BIG time for awhile now...but especially the past 6 wks.
Sits down with planner to regain control of life... notices new video from Dawn... WHAT!?!? You get me. You get us. Thank you for all of your totally relevant and life-enriching content!
Thanks for your tips! You helped me! I did my frog task first today. Glad I did, because it took over an hour. I feel relieved now and glad I didn't try to squeeze it in later.
Thank you very much for the help! I have eaten today three frogs, which have been delayed for almost two months! Good luck for your videos! You truly know how to motivate people and you are successful in that. ❤
I have started asking myself what "future me" would appreciate the most. Most of the time these "frog tasks" are mundane, boring, thankless tasks that need to be done, but only get negative recognition if they don't. They are usually not tasks that receive positive recognition for completion. I have ADHD and thrive on positive reinforcement which makes me want to do even more. On the flip side, negative reinforcement tends to shut me down. By asking myself what "future me" would appreciate most and going back to acknowledge "past me" later for getting it done, I have that positive reinforcement, and avoid the negative.
I love to give 'gifts' to my 'future me'. Especially finding art supplies in a logical location in my art studio. When I find a 'gift from future me', I thank my 'past me'!. It's an amazing habit to have - doing 'the right thing'...
Wow! Game changer, I've been having trouble with a few frogs on my list and changing the way I think about them from dreading the process to the final product afterward, that's going to make all the difference. Thank you!
I love this concept, Dawn. It's already helped me with 4 tasks, today. FROG for me stands for Fully Rely Upon God. So, I'm going with minor change, "Get the toad out of the road!" I can "toadly" accept dealing with toad tasks, before they grow and multiply. Thank you so much for the tips!!!
I am new to your channel and have loved everything I've seen. I had two "frogs" I have been putting off which were causing me some extra stress. After hearing you explain the frog principle I paused the video and completed my two tasks. I feel SOOO much better and it took less than five minutes!! Thanks so much!! I look forward to learning more!!
I go to the office to discuss items like your dentist bill. It's easy to be a witch when they can't see you, so you have to behave. And seeing their paper work, rather than having someone explain it to me, is easier to absorb. Love your stuff, I'm binge watching.
Dawn, I just absolutely love your videos. I think the best part of RUclips is the realization that no matter where we live and who we are, we all have so much in common. Not enjoying frog 🐸 eating is definitely one of those things!!! I don’t like making calls about weird billings either because I feel like I won’t be able to explain things to the person properly, that I won’t find the right words and...you know...Here’s to eating those frogs 🐸 first while they’re still small and kind of (???) cute-ish!!!!! 😫😨😊
Oh my goodness!!! I read 'Eat that Frog years ago!!! I seem to remember that it was if you had to eat a live frog, which makes it an even more awful task!!! So fantastic to see you talking about it on here - I have only recently found your videos and they are changing my life!! I'm slowly decluttering - well quite quickly actually - I seem to have really taken to donating or selling items - much to my husband horror! I am feeling so much lighter and calmer - how do I get my hubby on board?? Many, many thanks xx
Oooohgirrrl, this is hitting home with me on the dreaded exercise thing....after I’m done exercising, I’m lovvinngg-ita. Not only that it’s actually done but that my body is thanking me for how great it feels. It’s the get up and go that’s the problem. To think about how I will feel getting the task done and my body will benefit might be the ticket to getting me to start.
I just finished eating 4 of 5 frogs!!! One was 18years old (a name change issue), one was 6 months old (snail mail reply to someone overseas), 2 were from late November of this year so about 6 weeks old (reviewing insurance papers and either filing them or canceling). These were the ones done today. #5 is about a year old and it needs several hours of reading and reviewing - it’s something that if I decided to get rid of I can trash it and it’s of no consequence to anyone, other than I haven’t given myself the information available. The fifth frog is going to be read thru at 20 minutes each nite until it’s done. I watched this video when it first came out and I had to find it again because I thought you’d get a chuckle out of my Eating 4 Frogs Today!!! LOL
This is so so true! Tasks we hate just grow into monsters. Just to add, it's really important to also schedule not only a time to do the task but also a time limit. Even if it's a super awful task, it seems so much better when you know it will only take 20 minutes max. Tasks just seem to balloon if we let them. xx
Yes! You timed this SO WELL!! It’s like you’re talking directly to me!! I’ve got quite a few frogs that have been “leaping” from “menu to menu”- it’s time I stop the migration and tie on my bib!!!! 🐸
Thanks so much for this, it has greatly decreased my procrastination and I feel less stress. 😊Love the frog analogy. When I feel like procrastinating I think of the frogs growing and multiplying.
I Love This!! My life is so crazy right now with 2 toddlers, 6 kids doing schooling from home, 1 kid out working full time and my husband working from home. Im going to make my own super planner!! Thank you 😍
a) I have that exact planner! (got it on a supersale) but it got tucked under a pile! b) I already had a Blinkist (free) account I had forgotten about! c) I had read Eat the Frog a few years ago and had lost track of that tactic so..... thank you for this video!! i now have a chance at winning today!! 🐸
Hi Dawn, Thank you so much! My frog is my physical therapy exercises. I keep putting them off and they were on my mind. Right now it’s 2:30 in the afternoon and I still haven’t done them. I preparing dinner and planning to do them later. But I’ve put them off so many times that sometimes there after dinner and I can’t watch television with my husband. Last night I forgot. Your tip about thinking about how I will feel after I finish is really fantastic! I think that’s what’s going to make the difference. Thank you again!
This “eat the frog” idea isn’t new to me but it seems it KEEPS coming up in my life in so many different ways. I think God is trying to speak to me 😂😂😂. I often put off the hard things and I guess I need to work on that. Lol. Thanks for sharing!
It is funny how things you need to hear can all of a sudden come at you from all angles. Also, another "frog" I try to follow is to Fully Rely On God to get through it all, physically and mentally.
God wants us to have a better life. Like believe the Bible truth of the seventh day sabbath. Created in the garden of Eden. Blessed and honored by Jesus Himself. Genesis 2:2&3. God never changes. Exodus 20:8-11. And my favorite Exodus 31:12-18. Research will show where sun day actually comes from. The hard part... act on it. But friends it does get better. The seal of God or the “ mark ” of the beast. Pray. Ask. Receive. Love❣️
I enjoyed this video, what a good reminder to do hard things first. I just watched a video where Dawn listed things she never buys and notebooks and planners were both listed! There was a notebook and planner shown in this video.
I hear you! It's not the frog (the task) that grows, but the discomfort grows, and grows and makes you feel so bad! I get this completely. I'm still not all that good about getting them done right away, but I'm working on it and making progress. So this video is very timely in my world. Thanks, Dawn, another helpful piece of content and presented in your usual friendly way makes it feel much less like being taught something! :-)
Yes! And no..sometimes the frog itself does actually grow ...the task sometimes gets bigger when we keep putting it off. Remember the kids story about the man who wouldn't wash the dishes? First a sinkful, (a baby dragon), then the counter then the floor until finally dirty dishes were a huge pile trailing out the door. Yep..my put it off muscles grow like a bodybuilder but the task itself often grows into a huge monster of a dragon as it becomes more complicated (added correspondence, late fees etc)
Read the book when I was working and used that method daily for several years❤️ I now do The Bullet Journal Method by Ryder Caroll. I enjoy this as it includes my daily journaling and future planning. My favorite planner is Hobonichi Weeks, small enough to carry in my purse and do appts, planning, lists and memory keeping. Thanks for sharing and loving your channel🌹
I was just talking to my friends about this very topic, this past weekend. It's been difficult to be a care provider for my 85 year old mother and 90 year old father and I have a high school counseling position. So, it's been hard, so thank you!
I kind of want to make a shirt now that says I eat frogs for breakfast haha Great video!! I'm that person who has heavily dreaded those tasks to the point of such anxiety and guilt. At some point I decided I was sick of it! One of the earliest breakthroughs for me was finally decluttering a pile of papers I knew had both important documents and long-expired offers and other unimportant mailers. After about 3 hours I had not only shown myself that I could do it, but that it felt so gratifying to finally have it done, that over time it gradually became easier and easier to face those age-old tasks. That was about a year ago and now I'm SO much faster because 1. I do *not* want to be stressed like that ever again, and 2. I know that if I just do things right away, I have such a constant momentum that it's practically routine! Face your giant frogs and prove to yourself that you can do it!! You will feel so free. I believe in you!! 🥰🥰
Dawn, I recently discovered you (and your sidter), and just have to say "Thank you so much for helping to open my eyes to a better way. We're on the journey to minimalism. 10 trips to goodwill and we're just starting to makes a dent! Why do we have so much, is all I keep asking. Thanks again, and keep the conversation going. I love and appreciate you so much!
DAWN! You are incredible! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and light! I am in a particularly froggy season right now 😉 Time to start chowing them down! ❤️
When I’m working my planner that’s what I do. My planner is also used as scrap paper. If I think of an idea I write it down there so I dont forget it. I love all your videos. You know a nice video would be of you and your twin sisters and families getting together socially. I saw a snippet of that in an earlier visit.
Thank you for this reminder and push! I use that phrase with my kids all the time Eat the Frog, makes them roll their eyes.lol. I have had getting some tax paper work bugging me for months and now I have hit the deadline, so yes delaying action causes so much more pain than just getting it done. So that's what I have to work on after work instead of enjoying my evening,, I am sure it will only take a few hours if that, but the stress is becoming unbearable. Don't know why we do this to ourselves. Thank you for your content, it is always so timely.
I have learned so much from you already and am so grateful but this is the 1st time I am actually appreciative of your sponsor! I had never heard of Blinkist! I signed up and am so excited!
As I'm watching this video, my son (who by the way loves frogs) comes and sits next to me. He loved seeing all the frogs pop up on the screen... but then you said "I EAT FROGS FOR BREAKFAST!" let's just say he was a little traumatized 😂😂😂 lol.
Paused the video to send a email I was dreading! Thanks for the reminder. I love this idea and have tried it before, but even more importantly is how you emphasized we have to let it become a habit.
Old frogs get “moldy” so eat em when they are young and tender! Before I watched today’s episode I had bagged 60+ items to purge from my closet. I made an appointment (now required) to drop off at a donation center. I’ve used that delay to gather LOTS of things that are serviceable but not to me. Letting go of so many clothes felt great when I framed it as releasing me from guilt or pressure to “make” something wearable. Some things waited years for the “right” companion top/bottom, occasion or fit. Today I decided I’m not going to keep any of those on my To Do list. I’m free!
Hi Dawn I’m a queen of eating the overgrown frogs and like you said don’t like this about myself. The ironic part is I’m a huge list maker with a passion for pads!!! These two don’t go together lol. The perceive it’s going to be uncomfortable is soooo me, I’m going to try to improve. I have 2 friends that eat frogs for breakfast! By the way... can you tell me how to reach Diana, I paid to paypal the $ to off set expenses for her to start the online Bible study. Haven’t heard anything...
phyllis fantauzzo Hi Phyllis, your comment posted as a reply to the gal who commented before you, so Dawn might not have seen it! If you’re still trying to get in touch with Diana, this is the email address to reach her about the study. :) groundedstudy@gmail.com
I'm so glad I found you. This is the second video I've watched of yours and I'm subscribing right now. You are inspiring and I need that. I can't wait to watch your other video's and get caught up, lol.
Thank you for watching!!! We hope you had a great long weekend! You can find more of my favorite time management tips here (including how I keep my to-do list!): ruclips.net/p/PLZ-AWUEixtg1PlktzqzAvxx0yrv-SsMWH - Dawn
I had a great weekend away with friends because:
You are the best!! I'm so motivated right now
Not having much energy, importance is key. Love this plsn.
Checking into blinxit. All about time hacks ❤
You look gorgeous today Dawn, as usual ❤️ glowing! Thanks for the tip, I've been binging your videos 😆
We miss Tom. Where is he?
The original frog quote was by favorite author Mark Twain. "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."
Thank you , Elizabeth, I knew someone famous said something like this but couldn’t remember! 😉👍🏼
Yeah, Brian Tracy mentions this quote in his book and basically the whole book derives from it. BUT there's so much wisdom Brian gives in that book. I seriously don't know how someone can take anything away. I read it and listened to it. It's worth memorizing, hehe...that's how good it is 😊
Very interesting !
Thank you for bothering to let us know !!
Wasn't the other part of it that if you eat the frog first thing, nothing else will be worse for the rest of today?
When I really dread a task, I’ll set a timer for 20 minutes. I know that I can always handle 20 minutes, so I’ll tell myself “okay, I’m gonna do this for 20 minutes and see how far I’ll get it done”. 99% of the time the task is finished before the 20 minutes are over. A timer always makes me more productive. But I do have to say that minimalism has really helped me with this, because prior to minimizing my head was just too full to even start a task. Now my house feels better so I have space for other things.
Renske I like the timer. I will try it tomorrow.
Great tip👍
Sometimes when I don’t feel good, I set my timer for 5 minutes, and it’s amazing how much I can get done, and then I rest.
I like your approach! I will try that.
Great ideas, your notebook sounds perfect to me.
You're an amazing teacher! Love your timing when you talk, your energy (not too much or too little), how relatable you are, how you organized the information you are sharing, and the overall length of the video. Very engaging! Im a licensed counselor and very impressed by your approach :) What a joy to stumble upon your video!
Wow! Thank you so much, I really appreciate this!!! ❤️😊
Just ate a frog. I needed to schedule a recall on my truck at a dealership where I didn’t buy the vehicle. I’ve been putting off the call for three months and finally did it today. The recall will be taken care of in one hour tomorrow!
Instead of "eat the frog," I prefer "slay the dragon." Makes me feel like a warrior!!
Exactly!
Robyn Young love this!! 😊
Love this!
Yes!
I had something similar for the same reason! I think it was my "conquer items" ...but I really love yours!
Good for you, Sweetheart! 💖
Nothing feels better than the 3 minutes after we have finished the dreaded task. Usually the worry was for nothing.
Thank you!
Did you do it?
@@Beepbopboop19 Yep! Only took about 15 mins and now have the next 4 months of appts booked for 2 kids!
Dawn, spending time with you never feels like a waste of time😁
I saw your last video about this and have gotten better about not always putting off the hard stuff. Before this method, I would always procrastinate and become overwhelmed .
Thanks so much for your help !
I threw out some old to-do lists the other day, and I realized how much stuff my family and I had actually accomplished. It felt so good💛
I decided to keep a running list at the back of my planner. A list of tasks that we have finished; as a reminder of all we have gotten done. I think we'll read it at the end of the year and have a party to celebrate😉🎉😁
I like how you keep it simple , real and manageable.
I love the added distinction of remembering how you'll feel after you eat the frog. So important to get it into perspective that way!
He is playing with the food and started pretending the sofa is the cooker🤗
I'm so happy he dosen't miss the play kitchen and is being more imaginative. Plus I'm more happy with how tidy the house is and how quick it is to tidy up.
So a great big thank you.
Thanks for the motivation. Please pray for me, I have 3 HUGE frogs . . . old, painful, expensive frogs to deal with!! I so want them behind me!
God bless and help u 🙏 ❤ and me toooo I have them toooo and everyone who has them 🙏
Perfect timing, Dawn!
I am getting a green highlighter to denote my frogs! Love it. 🐸
My mother used to tell me, "If you dread a chore or task, do it first so you don't have to dread it anymore." It's rang true for 50 years!
Excellent advice!
That's great! And if you say "task or chore", it rhymes with "anymore"
“If you dread a task or chore do it first and dread no more.”
That was excellent - you express yourself so well - I can feel the feelings you describe. And your enthusiasm and humor is energizing.
Dawn. You are so good at creating content!! I love your videos! This video is super helpful! Thank you! I know the Lord is using you to help others more than you know!
Making my dentist appointment today, that I've been putting off for months. 😊
Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you!
"It's not the planner." - So true!
The frog graphics made me smile! Great tips, Dawn.
“It’s not the planner” Yes! I try new systems all the time but I’m always just me!
Love this! ❤
I feel SO motivated every time I watch one of your videos. You’re SO good at breaking down difficult tasks into more manageable ones. Thank you!
(got it on a supersale) but it got tucked under a pile!
b) I already had a Blinkist (free) account I had forgotten about!
c) I had read Eat the Frog a few years ago and had lost track of that tactic
so..... thank you for this video!! i now have a chance at winning today!! 🐸
JR Malone which planner is it? The link above didn’t work for me. Did you get it on Amazon? I would appreciate it if you would share a link. Thanks! 😊
Hi Dawn,
Thank you so much!
Sarah Nickel amen! I like that one too!
Pray. Ask. Receive. Love❣️
I LOVED your explanation of the frog tasks. Makes total sense!
Or "toad"al sense. Lol!
LOL Angie 😂
Great video! “it’s not the planner “ I agree!! It’s just doing it!
I don’t know how else to put this.
The simple minimalist approach of this hits home! I’m starting this tomorrow!
Soooo right. While I’ve read the book, I needed to hear this again!! Thank you!
I kind of want to make a shirt now that says I eat frogs for breakfast haha
Great video!!
I was avoiding eating my “frog” and came here instead. This was a good message that I needed Right Now!! How did you know ? 😉
DAWN! You are incredible! Thank you for sharing your wisdom and light!
I am in a particularly froggy season right now 😉 Time to start chowing them down! ❤️
I love all the pics on this video. It helps drive the point home in a fun way.
"I eat frogs for breakfast". I love that! I knew the premise of "Eat that Frog", but thank you for more details. I am loving your videos!
Whenever I see your beautiful face and hear your lovely voice, teaching all those tipps, I know I love you and am glad to have found you.

Congratulations on freeing yourself of that undeserving pressure! Beautiful step to a beautiful day!
AWP66B thank you so much, very kind of you to get me to Diana.
I'm so glad I found you. This is the second video I've watched of yours and I'm subscribing right now. You are inspiring and I need that. I can't wait to watch your other video's and get caught up, lol.
