When Lupe says, other rappers stand tall like Yao Ming but he is the foundation, the I-beams (the big vertical beams inside skyscrapers that help strengthen the structure), and the antennas of Sears Tower...ie tallest in Chicago. Lupe is saying he's the biggest/best rapper from Chicago and is bigger than all the other artists.
The interscope scheme is about 2 bosses of interscope records, steve stouts, and jimmy iovine,
The limp bar is also reference to the classic movie The Usual Suspects. the least threatening character nicknamed "Verbal" with a limp throughout movie is revealed to be the criminal mastermind in the end and was pretending to be cripple all along
There's also a triple entendre that references back to this theme when he says:
"It's so serious every time I write my John Hancock." Beyond the Sears/John Hancock skyscraper reference it also sounds like he's saying:
"it's Soze's every time I write my John Hancock"
Keyser Soze is the Alias of the mastermind from Usual Suspects who turns out to be Verbal. Lupe is basically saying he's a criminal mastermind.
Most lyrical song about selling drugs
hahah
"Watch how they mugs drop when they see my Verbal's able" is a reference to The Usual Suspects, a fantastic movie. Check it out if you haven't already.
the antennas represent the top of the game. he beginns on the streets (steamrollers) and ends up at the top (antennas).
the last bars are insane:
I'm Bumpy Johnson I stick to the streets
Keep my dogs out in front of me
You see what I'm saying
And I push ki's wonderfully
push ki's has triple meaning.
piano keys like steve wonder
pushing keys of coke like bumpy
and pushing ki energy like the saiyans (see what im SAYIN) in dragonball z.
🔥 📛 👩🚒 🚒
Nah, ki line is a quintuple entendre
1. Ki as in selling drugs
2. Pushing ki's that comes from the saying/Saiyan thing.
3. Ki's is a homophone with keys which implies you push the keys as in the car ignition (the cars are a common scheme on the song yk)
4. Ki's is a homophone with keys which refers to the blind pianist (continuation the blindness scheme) named Stevie Wonder. And he says WONDERfully - WONDERfully - Stevie WONDER
5. Ki's is a homophone with skis which implies your dogs keep you out of the trouble, in the previous line he says "Keep my dogs out in front of me"
Good shit
Form Follows Fuction, Dumb it Down and Mural are songs by Lupe which all have breakdown videos like this. Amazing tracks as well.
Much love lupe is my fav artist 😁, lupe is a heavily under appreacatied artist for how talented he is . Mural is the most lyrical song ever made in hip-hop
Mural is overrated song. And Lupe too overrated.
@@ishaking6278 better than Feminem
@@randymajor6571 Yes he is, but Lu is not overrated. I was being hyperbolic at the time.
That usual suspects scheme is so dope
This entire song is also a giant drug-selling double entendre from "slinging soda" in the beginning to "pushing Ks wonderfully".
Nice reaction, recommend that you check out 'Lupe the Killer ' as a follow up to Failure. Otherwise I'd love to see reactions to the Mural trilogy or Michael Young History Saga (might have to do a bit of research about the songs involved first)
Foundation = The bottom. foundation
I - beams = the middle
Antenna = the top
I reign/Irene/ I rain supreme
Please do more Lupe!
Put you on game next
I'm surprised y'all reacted to a Lupe song I hope you will do Gotta eat and superstar
"The Script"was a reference to the band when he said he couldn't walk the walk.Beteroff.
I Beams are used in buildings
Thats the usual " usual suspects" kobayashi ........lupe is not for the novice. Stout as him is a reference to Steve stout that worked at interscope.
This was too much for you two.
bruhhh my brain hurt🔥🔥🔥
Seriously
you see what I'm ( saiyan) and I push Ki's wonderfully like super saiyans or Steve wonder
🔥
React on sidhu celebrity killer
You guys are getting different interpretations from what he's saying because he's using homophones as "wordplays" to create multiple entendres. A multiple entendre a figure of speech that uses more than one meaning. A double entendre is one thing said with 2 meanings, a triple entendre is one thing said with 3 meanings, etc. Lupe is a very complex rapper.
react to mozzy I aint perfect video is a good one
you did not understand all of this... lol
