The first time I took my 10 year old son whitetail hunting we were in a double stand and we had a couple of does come right under the stand. Once he saw the deer he started laughing and he couldn't control it. Pretty soon his laugh was so contagious that I started laughing. Believe it or not the deer did not know what to do so they just stood there watching us. I still smile when I think of it.

This was probably the most relatable episode yet! Between setting car alarms off at the wrong time; to moving in close on a herd bull, only to take 1 too many steps and getting busted; to rolling down a hill in a tire! Loved it!

I stand corrected! Lmao Well I don't have an elk story but I do have a deer story. I took my cousin who is new to hunting with me on the last day of deer hunting long story short we were walking up a hill and he was watching the right side and I was watching the left side. I was the one with the deer tag, so up this hill he sees a buck about 30-40 yards to his right, now the buck hadn't spotted us but my cousin yelled at me and said Buck! Buck! Buck! Buck! Over there! Of course the deer heard that and by the time I turn to where he was pointing the deer was already turning and started to take off... lol I told him man you dont yell just tap me on the shoulder or whisper at me! Lol Donny thank you for the dad joke! Cant wait to see the next episode!!! Thank again for the cool videos!

Awesome bull! One year I had a bull at 15 yards broadside behind a tree, and my buddy was 10 yards in front of it. Well in an attempt to get the bull to move a step, he decided to break a stick off a tree.. The bull didn't waste any time and busted back the way he came from... a quick cow call stopped him, and in the heat of the moment, I judged him at 50 yards when he stopped... I released an arrow and shot right over his back... the bull was at 40 yards! That was my first elk ever. What a learning experience it was and I felt so deflated and disheartened! We decided we couldn't get wrapped around the axle on it since it was thankfully a clean miss instead of wounding the bull, and got on two more bulls that day! That is a memory I will never forget!! It was in that moment that I became addicted to elk hunting! And the rest is history!

Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode! .....well, the worst thing that a hunting partner has done was this year when my 10 year old daughter and 12 year old boy were with me. We were very close to a bull on a steep, brushy, North Idaho hillside, when my boy was grabbing onto my daughters coat to try to push ahead of her and she proceeds to yell “ stop it, you are so rude” out loud in a high pitched shrill! That bull did not bugle again! So blessed though that my kids want to come chase these bulls with me though!

That was the best dad joke so far imo, my first year hunting with my sister we found elk we set up on their bedding trail. We could hear the herd bull screaming. Two cows and a spike stepped out and the bull was not far behind. I told my sister not to shoot to wait for the big bull. Another hunter heard the bull tried to sneak in from up wind. The elk all stopped for a few seconds then blew out. My sister still busts my butt about telling her not to shoot the spike. It’s been three years since and freezer still empty. 2020 can’t come soon enough

Corey is a beast when it come to going after these bulls with Donnie and the camera man right behind him. Love today’s strategy for success. It truly makes sense worked for me a few years ago. On the other hand the stupidest thing my partner did that cost me my elk was tear his diaphragm and try cow calling with his voice. Sounded nothing like a cow call and just about spooked every animal in a 1 mile radius away

That looked like a supreme game of cat and mouse, with the mice (elk) getting away in the end. The camp fire footage at the end of the episode was icing on the cake of another great day, and the grouse didn’t fair nearly as well as the elk. I guess Donnie had to see if you really can call in a bull with the car alarm like they did back in the “Goodyears”.

I clarified because it looked like 50 to me. He said no 35 so put 35 pin on the buck and ended up short. I went to get my arrow and stood where the buck was he ranged me at 51 yards.
