Our latest Mini Documentary follows Andrew Forrest, a 70 year old retiree who has been surfing since the age of 44. Every time he has been surfing, he has written a journal entry, starting from little notes between shopping lists, through to ranking systems, GPS watches and criteria for what makes the perfect session.
Jon Herbert has compiled a choice selection of the past 10 years of journal entries, and has compiled them into 'The Silver Surfer Journal' which is now in the crowd funding stage. Please do show your support for this project!

Sir Mumbo, this vlog was absolutely amazing, this would bring tears to a glass eye. I am a keen surfer myself and I could only wish to have that mans skill at his age let alone mine! Thank you yet again for a fantastic vlog and have a nice time in Cornwall if you're not already back.

This entire year, life finally caught up to me, and to be totally honest, a couple of months ago, I literally gave up.
Watching this, however, just reminded me why I started in the first place. This literally gave me the boost I needed to proceed.

I really loved the aspect ratio for this one. I've got the Samsung Note 10 + and it filled the screen completely from left to right while having thin black bars on the top and bottom. I think I actually prefer the small top black bars as opposed to side black bars. Idk why but it just made the film look bigger and nicer :)
I dont like bars at all (-._-.)
It's great on a 21:9 monitor, unlike WB who make a 21:1 trailer and then black bar all sides

Got to boards at 60 to equipment makes all the difference. At 6'4 225lb.
Need volume 7'8" 23 x4 " thick pulled in tail and nose.
Round tail quad fast turns on a dime. My big gun 8'10 23 x 4.5 round tail pulled in nose and tail. Made me put my long board in the rafters.
Love it. These will get me thur my sixties . Stoked in Central coast California.

There is something so legitimately wholesome about these mini docs that makes them wonderful to watch. The cinematography is beautiful, I've come to expect that but what really remains constant is the quality of story being told. Watching this made my day feel lighter. It made me think while also making me smile.

I have not experienced the passion for ones hobby but i can say it really puts you in a environment of critical self esteem and good pressure. Somewhere down the line i will find my destined "full timer" startup but now i think im good being a 14yo and taking forward information as i can.
This is really interesting. I really understood and loved the mood this film put me in I was inspired to write a story. As a 13 year old male, I have to be honest how much I enjoyed this film.

Lovely little story! I love it!! Inspirational! I'm 66 and still going myself, though not surfing it's on bucket list. I climb, hike, run (training for a marathon) and film meditation videos. Just can't stop! Oh, also play Minecraft LOL
sadly being a student film maker myself I cant fund you, however can I just say your style is so good and slick and I can not wait to be able to shoot projects like this. Keep this up man and you will get to some good places.

Turning 40 this week and yes, I found it inspirational too. I came to blacksmithing and scuba diving later in life (late 30's) but it's amazing to think I may still not have found a passion that will sustain me to the end of my days.
I'd love to see a full documentary about this!

THIS WAS INCREDIBLY GOOD! I very rarely get interested in documentary type films but wow I was entranced by how good everything was. The topic was powerful and the filming was amazing.
im a big fan of the other channel, but refrained from coming to this one for a while because i just had other things to watch. this film got my like and the subscription to this channel. This is brilliant and keep doing this man. I would love more content from this (but make sure to do some hermitcraft here and there:)
