To correct some slight misinformation about tip 6, you get a double attack if your Attack Speed (AS when in battle) is 4 higher, not just your speed stat. Your AS is calculated as your speed - weight of equipped gear, then reduced by your strength. This is why sometimes using a different weapon will change if you can get a double attack. Weight is only the (wt) number on the items with the little red e next to them, and this is reduced by your strength/5 and any abilities like weight -3. It's every full 5 strength though, no rounding. So your AS at the end will be: Spd - (Wt - Str/5 - *ability*) If this AS number is 4 more than the opponent, that's when you get a double attack.
Blue lions is the starting route for story why they are the evil church then you play black eagles for true ending and golden deer when you have nothing else to do.

My tip would be to class change early and often. Unlike most Fire Emblem games, but like FE Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, class changing brings your character's stats up to the baseline for the class you are changing into, then adds on whatever that class's stat modifiers are. Because of this, it can be very beneficial to train a character that is weak in one or two particular stats in a weapon or mobility type they are not usually good at in order to reap a large stat bonus to a stat they struggle to gain points in. For example, Raphael starts with generally good strength and defense, but only 1 point of resistance, which makes him much more vulnerable to enemy mages. However, it only really takes one week to train Raphael to E+ in Reason or Faith, by instructing him and then changing his goal to just Reason or Faith, and by doing so he will have a 65% chance to pass the certification exam for Monk, which has a base magic stat of 8 and a base resistance stat of 4. Thus, by raising Raphael's Reason or Faith to E+ and then passing the certification exam for Monk, Raphael will gain magic up to 8 and resistance up to 4. Given that he is unlikely to gain any magic or resistance points due to his abysmal growths in both stats, this is a good way of gaining him a free +4 magic and +3 resistance. Similarly, by boosting a mage's Heavy Armor to D and Axe to D+, you get another roughly 65% chance to pass the certification exam for Armored Knight, which has a baseline defense of 12. I’m curious - your first sentence says to “change” class early and often but it seems to me based on gameplay and the rest of your description that you don’t actually need to change into the class, you just need to pass the exam. Is that correct, to your knowledge?
I guess a good tip I have is that when recruiting someone it’s easier to increase their support to B by just giving the student you want gifts constantly. That’s what I did.
My tip for recruiting characters from other houses is: Lysithea. She is a magical nuclear weapon with enough firepower to destroy any foe foolish enough to cross her path. Also good is Mercedes, the best healer thanks to her ability 'Live to Serve' which heals her own hp for every hp she heals other units. Then, as mentioned in the video, Felix, who is an absolute killing maschiene.
I wouldn't use defensive items on weaker units because putting some life and def items will usually not stop them from getting one rounded from a pegasus knight anyways. It's better to block a fliers path if you can't keep the weak unit out of range or even use a gambit to lock down the enemies movement if possible.
I dunno if anyone else plays like me but i carry sword axe lance bow on all my units so even the weak mages can one shot pegasus knights even before they come near me. Which leaves better combat arts to be equipped as monster piercer and evade counterattack skills.
When equipping an Adjutant you also raise support between the units. That is not only true for the unit and their Adjutant but also for units standing next to them and even their own Adjutant. That means you can increase supports between four or more units at the same time. So, even if you don't use someone during your playthrough at all, you can still get all of their supports. If you plan to use a unit exclusively as an Adjutant you should reclass them into a Priest or Knight class, as the Healing and Shield abilities they provide respectively are more reliable than the occasional extra attack provided by all other classes. Oh, and flying classes can only have other fliers as their Adjutants. So, that is also a class you should consider having as a backup.
I started on a normal playthrough which was ridiculously easy. Since MC and Edelgard were completely overpowered, I made Edelgard the dancer to help aid other units to grow. It's quite funny since I started Edel going down that heavy armor path so she has crazy defenses... she can just go out there as a dancer and be left wide open and never get hurt. I'm really excited for lunatic mode. I wouldn't make Dorothea a dancer simply because her Meteor is so good that you can't pass up 2X uses on Gremory for tactical nuking.
An additional tip regarding weapons: Some weapons can be forged past + level For example, a Steel Bow+ can be forged into a Long Bow and a Killing Edge+ can be forged into a Wo Dao
A bit of advice that ties in with who to recruit or what classes to unlock, speed recruiting Lysithea or promoting an early Thief will help you obtain the rare Dark Seals early on, which you need if you plan on pushing characters like Hubert or Lysithea into the Dark Mage line. Be warned though that if one wants to recruit Lysithea early for her power against a certain unit, you should basically spoil her rotten to get to a B rank with her as fast as possible because she requires a higher rank of Faith to recruit than say Annette who shares her recruit categories. It's much easier to just get a B rank with her than to actively try to reach all the thresholds for her.
If you learn the way of the bawler all the way to B of B+ you can get healing focus A free healing combat art that can be used infinity just leaned this an trying to put it on all of my units
Oh and also for characters you recited just cus you didn’t want them to die you can make there goals what they will teach you in a lecture possibly making it more worth it
Try and master classes before moving onto the next one as too gain some great abilities like 'Poison Strike' and 'Hit +20' another thing of note is try too get at least one Dark Seal. In my opinion the first opportunity within the story is the easiest time too get one; after that I found it more difficult but not impossible.
You can always reclass so i think you should move on to better classes then come back when you have min maxing down with skill n exp boosts from saint statue and knowledge gems
please dont spend your defensive stat boosters on weaker units, a Lindhart or Flayn will always die on enemy phase regardless of how many items you give them (speaking on maddening terms), even if they are not in the front lines, that doesnt mean they are a bad unit, actually low move healers can get a lot of easy exp due to their spells and are more low investment to get into classes like holy/dark knight, dark flier or valkrye to get the move thats necesary for the gigantic maps of the end game.
did 3 routes already and did not know about getting materials from destroying those monster shield completely. I just killed those things as soon as 1 shield broke.

Yaruma No. As far as I know, she could attack one extra time. So with a brave weapon, she could attack four times and if the crest activates, she will attack a fifth time.
I wouldn't bother forging until you hit max professor level, and upgrading a weapon to the next level (like steel to silver) seems to waste material compared to simply buying the next level up and forging that. I also wouldn't bother going for "+" on a weapon unless its: 1) a brave/dragon weapon, 2) a spear or tomahawk, 3) a special weapon like the Rapier, Levin Sword, Magic Bow, etc, or 4) a training weapon used for something like a Frozen Lance or Soulblade build or a training gauntlet since it has less weight.
I don’t know why Felix is considered such a good unit. Yes he can be strong and he has pretty good speed, dexterity, and avoid rates, but it is hit or miss and only with swords, which aren’t universal and don’t just work against every unit (yes I’ve trained him in lances and reason too but he’s a swordmaster class so of course he is best at swords). You can’t have him face any enemy with a high crit rate or else he’s toast, because his defense and resistance growths are so shit so he can’t take hits. You’re basically just holding your breath on his ability to avoid each hit, which again, is hit or miss. I’ve had to keep him out of the fray more than use him, and he’s level 37 with an A+ in swords. I’ve leveled him up with everyone else but he isn’t super helpful to me.
Which class did u give him? Like they said mortal savant is literally OP for him. And there was this paralogue I did that gave me his Fraldarius crest shield that basically halves all damage. I've recruited him twice now bc i chose Eagles and Deers and never looked back from it, so freakishly strong. If you recruit him next time, try giving him some good weapons and up his Sword and Reason skills early because at 37 he shoulda had S or S+ with his sword. Also he's not a tank so try using him to finish enemies, meaning give him less weight to move around a lot like an assassin
Matt Vang I reclassed him to a Mortal Savant and yes, he’s pretty good, but his defense is still shit. Case in point - I entered him in a sword tournament at level 40 yesterday (the recommended level was 40 or over) with his sword at S+ and he died in the second round despite me refilling his HP. Also, I did the paralogue, but I didn’t get the shield because only ONE villager died, so they just gave me a Wo Dao sword instead. I completed chapter 19 of blue lions yesterday, and I had him attack a couple times and finish off enemies, but I still had to Divine Pulse a couple times because he KEPT DYING any time more than 1 enemy was in range of him. So I’m a little frustrated with him. I also have his reason at B.

In my opinion the tips were partly very small spoilers but not for the main story and neither side story quests. The greatest one is about the class dancer where they tell you in which month this is and they give some details about monsters, but this all are just very minor spoilers.

Umm the reason you dont pick flayn cyril catherine and seteth in black eagle route is that they become your enemy at a certain point. Its around chapter 12. Your still in the beginning of the game at ch 7. The real chunk starts around ch 9 to 11.
Maybe someone here can answer definitively a question I have. Does equipping an adjutant to a unit during battle decrease the amount of exp that the main unit receives? I’m almost certain that’s the case by estimating the exp that I think my main character should be getting, but I haven’t seen any information yet that confirms it.

Also, of you are playing on hard, DO NOT HOARD YOUR WEAPONS!! If a specific weapon is not unit effective, is not usable, is not rare, or is not a strict upgrade to one you currenty have SELL IT. Money is very hard to come by in hard mode outside of the liaison seeing as you cannot grind to insane amounts of cash, so weapons that you are actively not using are simply wasting space in your inventory. The same goes for items that you dint have a particular use for. Bottomline, on hard unused weapons and excess inventory are your primary sources of income as you will only get a max of 5000 gold from the church every month.
Bad advice. Hoard if you want to. While I agree that there have to be some weapons to be sold like Rusted Swords x 50 (because they're clearly Iron or Steel), you can make a shitton of money by fishing and gardening. Take some time doing that and trust me, you'll never run out of money. Don't be shy to always use the best fertilizer for your seeds either. Don't make unused weapons and excess inventory your primary sources of income. You'll go poor that way. Battles also usually yield bullions anyway and those cost 7000.
Lol cause im filthy rich in hard mode. I got rich by selling fish and plants. And never spending money on new gear. Its better to use what you get from quests and just repairing gear

If you have played the games before you won’t need tips. Seriously, I’m almost halfway through the game and every single one of my characters outside the healers are grossly overpowered and one shot everything that aren’t beasts.
If you press B while you when you get an item while you inventory is full you will throw away the item rather than depositing it to the convoy. I did this a lot accidently before I realized so this could be your issueI
While not being able to max friendship in a first play though until after the war, keep in mind in a + file you can buy it for renown, not always practical, but still a thought.
I found this so surprising when I found out but you don’t need to make units promote into the next class rank (beginner, advanced, etc) you just need the qualifications to promote to the next class. This would’ve been helpful to know because I made flayn a paladin because I thought it was the only way to get her to a master class (falcon knight)
Are you serious with this? Making Lysithea a dancer is a waste of potential. She's a lot more damaging as a Gremory. Give her the relic that increases her magic range by 2 and watch her one shot divine beast with double Crits. The best dancer is Dorothea, hands down. Anyone else is just going to be a waste of the class.

Bro don't lose hope... This is my first fire emblem game ever...as someone who's only played FPS games or racing...fire emblem is nothing like my taste of games. I picked it up and left it at the first every mission for a whole month because it had too much information and I didn't want to give it a go but literally 2 weeks ago I gave it a chance and thought I'll digest all this information as I go along...and personally it's one of my favourite games simply because of the sheer amount of content and complexity of it. Definitely worth giving it a chance and learning the mechanics
Tip: best characters in the game (because theyre strong or interesting storyline): Felix as mortal savant, Lysithea as mortal savant (girl has 2 crests on her and cute as heck no wonder), Dorothea with her nuclear Meteor, Hilda as a flying machete machine, Marianne with story ab her mystery crest, Bernadetta bc she be shy as shit but hits like a truck, Lindhart with his tanky res and warp skill (teleport u), and Petra bc she double hit crit everyone
You forgot Ferdie, level him up and he is a tank. He will dodge or take no damage from most attacks at high level and will hit hard too. Also, Caspar can do a ton of damage but is not the quickest unit so will take a load too.

@@strictlybananas might be too late for this now but dont do that. Some advanced classes have class specific mastery combat arts. Sword Masters unlock Astra upon mastery, but they can only equip it when they are a Swordmaster. When you switch to MS you'll lose it. Same goes for Snipers and Grapplers.

Uh, no? You cant forge + weapons. An unforgered Killing Edge can be forged into a Wo Dao, but a Killing Edge+ is stuck that way

Its more fun killing them after the 5 yr plot cause they used to be your friends

Dark mage is a male class only so Lysithea can't have it, which is a shame.

Try and master classes before moving onto the next one as too gain some great abilities like 'Poison Strike' and 'Hit +20' another thing of note is try too get at least one Dark Seal. In my opinion the first opportunity within the story is the easiest time too get one; after that I found it more difficult but not impossible.
You can always reclass so i think you should move on to better classes then come back when you have min maxing down with skill n exp boosts from saint statue and knowledge gems

please dont spend your defensive stat boosters on weaker units, a Lindhart or Flayn will always die on enemy phase regardless of how many items you give them (speaking on maddening terms), even if they are not in the front lines, that doesnt mean they are a bad unit, actually low move healers can get a lot of easy exp due to their spells and are more low investment to get into classes like holy/dark knight, dark flier or valkrye to get the move thats necesary for the gigantic maps of the end game.

Yaruma No. As far as I know, she could attack one extra time. So with a brave weapon, she could attack four times and if the crest activates, she will attack a fifth time.

I wouldn't bother forging until you hit max professor level, and upgrading a weapon to the next level (like steel to silver) seems to waste material compared to simply buying the next level up and forging that. I also wouldn't bother going for "+" on a weapon unless its: 1) a brave/dragon weapon, 2) a spear or tomahawk, 3) a special weapon like the Rapier, Levin Sword, Magic Bow, etc, or 4) a training weapon used for something like a Frozen Lance or Soulblade build or a training gauntlet since it has less weight.
I don’t know why Felix is considered such a good unit. Yes he can be strong and he has pretty good speed, dexterity, and avoid rates, but it is hit or miss and only with swords, which aren’t universal and don’t just work against every unit (yes I’ve trained him in lances and reason too but he’s a swordmaster class so of course he is best at swords). You can’t have him face any enemy with a high crit rate or else he’s toast, because his defense and resistance growths are so shit so he can’t take hits. You’re basically just holding your breath on his ability to avoid each hit, which again, is hit or miss. I’ve had to keep him out of the fray more than use him, and he’s level 37 with an A+ in swords. I’ve leveled him up with everyone else but he isn’t super helpful to me.

They basically made a master class specifically for him. He's completely broken/OP as mortal savant.
Which class did u give him? Like they said mortal savant is literally OP for him. And there was this paralogue I did that gave me his Fraldarius crest shield that basically halves all damage. I've recruited him twice now bc i chose Eagles and Deers and never looked back from it, so freakishly strong. If you recruit him next time, try giving him some good weapons and up his Sword and Reason skills early because at 37 he shoulda had S or S+ with his sword. Also he's not a tank so try using him to finish enemies, meaning give him less weight to move around a lot like an assassin
Matt Vang I reclassed him to a Mortal Savant and yes, he’s pretty good, but his defense is still shit. Case in point - I entered him in a sword tournament at level 40 yesterday (the recommended level was 40 or over) with his sword at S+ and he died in the second round despite me refilling his HP. Also, I did the paralogue, but I didn’t get the shield because only ONE villager died, so they just gave me a Wo Dao sword instead. I completed chapter 19 of blue lions yesterday, and I had him attack a couple times and finish off enemies, but I still had to Divine Pulse a couple times because he KEPT DYING any time more than 1 enemy was in range of him. So I’m a little frustrated with him. I also have his reason at B.

iirc you can get your support lvl's to A in ng+ pre timeskip, but only if you had that char's support lvl up to that in a previous playthru

In my opinion the tips were partly very small spoilers but not for the main story and neither side story quests. The greatest one is about the class dancer where they tell you in which month this is and they give some details about monsters, but this all are just very minor spoilers.
Ill spoil for you the church is evil, sothis is the goddess, rhea is seiros the dragon and byleth gets his heart back after he kills rhea at the end.

Umm the reason you dont pick flayn cyril catherine and seteth in black eagle route is that they become your enemy at a certain point. Its around chapter 12. Your still in the beginning of the game at ch 7. The real chunk starts around ch 9 to 11.

Maybe someone here can answer definitively a question I have. Does equipping an adjutant to a unit during battle decrease the amount of exp that the main unit receives? I’m almost certain that’s the case by estimating the exp that I think my main character should be getting, but I haven’t seen any information yet that confirms it.
This isn't the case. Adjutants receive slightly less exp than the main units, but the main units are not held back at all

CORRECTION Rhea Can achieve A support with Byleth before the timeskip.
Also, of you are playing on hard, DO NOT HOARD YOUR WEAPONS!! If a specific weapon is not unit effective, is not usable, is not rare, or is not a strict upgrade to one you currenty have SELL IT. Money is very hard to come by in hard mode outside of the liaison seeing as you cannot grind to insane amounts of cash, so weapons that you are actively not using are simply wasting space in your inventory. The same goes for items that you dint have a particular use for.
Bottomline, on hard unused weapons and excess inventory are your primary sources of income as you will only get a max of 5000 gold from the church every month.
Bad advice. Hoard if you want to. While I agree that there have to be some weapons to be sold like Rusted Swords x 50 (because they're clearly Iron or Steel), you can make a shitton of money by fishing and gardening. Take some time doing that and trust me, you'll never run out of money. Don't be shy to always use the best fertilizer for your seeds either.
Don't make unused weapons and excess inventory your primary sources of income. You'll go poor that way. Battles also usually yield bullions anyway and those cost 7000.

Lol cause im filthy rich in hard mode. I got rich by selling fish and plants. And never spending money on new gear. Its better to use what you get from quests and just repairing gear

The killer weapons are great for primary not just backup. Some.units like Petra and byleth will crit more than they make regular attacks.
Just got to edelgard after 5 yr route and found out i wasted time recruiting flayn but missed out on getting hilda... kinda mad cause i recruited everyone else from the houses. Too far in to go back. Guess ill save for new game plus. Hmm wish i knew about the four square thing cause im missing a lot of ores.
Um, what? Flayn is an auto recruit for every house isnt she? Also, you can recruit Hilda in to the BE house

If you press B while you when you get an item while you inventory is full you will throw away the item rather than depositing it to the convoy. I did this a lot accidently before I realized so this could be your issueI
While not being able to max friendship in a first play though until after the war, keep in mind in a + file you can buy it for renown, not always practical, but still a thought.

I found this so surprising when I found out but you don’t need to make units promote into the next class rank (beginner, advanced, etc) you just need the qualifications to promote to the next class. This would’ve been helpful to know because I made flayn a paladin because I thought it was the only way to get her to a master class (falcon knight)

Are you serious with this? Making Lysithea a dancer is a waste of potential. She's a lot more damaging as a Gremory. Give her the relic that increases her magic range by 2 and watch her one shot divine beast with double Crits. The best dancer is Dorothea, hands down. Anyone else is just going to be a waste of the class.

Bro don't lose hope... This is my first fire emblem game ever...as someone who's only played FPS games or racing...fire emblem is nothing like my taste of games. I picked it up and left it at the first every mission for a whole month because it had too much information and I didn't want to give it a go but literally 2 weeks ago I gave it a chance and thought I'll digest all this information as I go along...and personally it's one of my favourite games simply because of the sheer amount of content and complexity of it. Definitely worth giving it a chance and learning the mechanics

Tip: best characters in the game (because theyre strong or interesting storyline): Felix as mortal savant, Lysithea as mortal savant (girl has 2 crests on her and cute as heck no wonder), Dorothea with her nuclear Meteor, Hilda as a flying machete machine, Marianne with story ab her mystery crest, Bernadetta bc she be shy as shit but hits like a truck, Lindhart with his tanky res and warp skill (teleport u), and Petra bc she double hit crit everyone
You forgot Ferdie, level him up and he is a tank. He will dodge or take no damage from most attacks at high level and will hit hard too. Also, Caspar can do a ton of damage but is not the quickest unit so will take a load too.
These game seems sooo complicated..

@@strictlybananas might be too late for this now but dont do that. Some advanced classes have class specific mastery combat arts. Sword Masters unlock Astra upon mastery, but they can only equip it when they are a Swordmaster. When you switch to MS you'll lose it. Same goes for Snipers and Grapplers.
