    Awesome review as always doc! Loved the Jump 1s enough to get a second pair even after the heel air popped on my first, but I did always feel that the heel air units weren't as necessary since most people jump off the balls of their feet. And I really like the react foam for my other shoes so I'm definitely giving these a try.

    Hi Zach, thanks for the quality content as always.
    I've had the GT jump 1 for over a month now as I got them for 50% off. I love zoom air overload of 1's but somehow wish I had waited for the GT jump 2. Reason being, I prefer the fabric weave upper of the 2's compared to the hard plastics of the 1's.
    Secondly, I'm only 5'10 but wear a size 13 US. Being a high top, hard plastics of the 1's really restrict any shifty movements.

    Doc would you consider maybe putting the ratings and scores in a table to compare different models with similar features (ie gt jump 1 vs gt jump 2) as part of the video? would be cool to see the ball bounce height numbers side by side with stuff like jordans and lebrons that have different cushion set ups

    Spot on review. I’ve had my Jump 2s for a week and loving the heel support. It really is very forgiving. Only thing you didn’t touch on I think was the ankle collar height. I love that these are more of a mid compared to the 1s.

      How’s the lateral support? And how does the forefoot cushion feel compared to the 1s or the Jordan 37 or 36?

    • @adamwesterhout
      @adamwesterhout 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@zoesh2441 lateral support is fine. No issues or concerns so far.
      Last Jordan’s I played in were the 34s and 35s. It’s so hard to ignore the plush heel support in these. Less break in time in my opinion.
      I played in the Nike Zoom BB NXT which had a similar react/zoom set up and felt those were higher rides and more distracting. I think the Jump2s have got the height and set up right. Especially with the jump plate!

    G.T. Jump makes my feet soreness after playing, maybe cause of too much Zoom & the Pebax Jumpframe is stiff, this 2nd version is more forgiving it seems
    P.S. maybe this is also the reason why the KD16 changed from Full-length Zoom Strobel to Forefoot Zoom + Air Strobel like Zion 2, the Zoom unit is causing foot pain & soreness

    Prior to playing in these, I’ve been playing in the KD trey 5’s for the past year… zero issues playing in those
    I just bought the LeBron 21s, I know you mentioned you’re on the heavier side and I think my build is similar to yours, what do you play in?

    Thank for a detailed review, Dr. Zach 🤩🏀 I've been using G.T.Jump 1 for a year and really admire their combination of precision and cushion. They felt like a scalpel comparing to a knife of LeBron 17, which used before. In my mind, zoom-units allowed Jump 1 to be much lower to the ground comparing to Jump 2, which feels like an unfortunate move for the new model. Having said that, I got another colorway of Jump 1 to enjoy the time till Jump 3 😉

    Hi @footdoctorzach
    I just bought the GT Jump 2 based on your (and others) reviews. I am wearing orthopedic insoles, so usually I remove the standard insole of a shoe and put mine in. With the GT Jump 2, I find it a little bit difficult to wear without the original insole below my own insoles, as I feel the uneven surface inside the shoe even through my own insoles. But with both the original insole and my orthopedic ones, the shoes feel too tight on the upper side of my foot.
    What would you recommend? Going up in size? I fear that the shoe might get too big, especially too long, as right now it fits perfectly aside from my insole problem. Or is there any other way to lets say compensate for the uneven surface without the insole? Thanks for your help!

    I think you should take a look at your ratings. To me, besides traction and cushion (shock/bounce), stability is the most important. This shoe rates a 4.5 but if it’s not good for ankle sprainers then how supportive can it be?! Stability to me is about how willing the shoe is to let my foot roll over while playing. Maybe add a category or combine stability with support?

    FINALLY. The GT Jump 2 Review from Zach. You confirmed everything I suspected on the performance of the shoe. So torn on getting these. I like the tech, especially since I'm more on the husky side, but I do sprain my ankle quite often, so that's a bummer.

      whats better for the ankle support the 1 or 2?

    • @vlh3448
      @vlh3448 10 месяцев назад

      @@markm139 having tried both, id say 1, but i do enjoy the 2 more. Its more of a mid cut shoe, so there is some ankle support.
      I think the 1 is a more stable shoe but heavier, while 2 is softer, bouncier.

    • @markm139
      @markm139 10 месяцев назад

      @@vlh3448 ok thanks. I want ankle support but most shoes that are high tops give up the comfort and bounce that you need.

    • @vlh3448
      @vlh3448 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@markm139 the 1 is a true high-cut shoe, if thats what ur asking. In terms of being high off the ground, i dont have exact measurements, but i do think the 2 has a higher sole, height-wise.

    I got a couple questions, I’m around 5’9 and want some shoes that are bouncy. I already have Jordan 35 lows and like them but I wanted a shoe that looks good and has bounce, that aren’t lows. So I was stuck between these and the high top 37’s. Should I go with a low because I am a guard and you say the bigger shoes are for bigger players (I’m also light but in the paint a lot), or can I go with these or the 37’s because they have bounce and I like the look. As well are the 37’s much less bouncy? Or is there not much difference? I’ve heard that the heel of the 37’s take away from the bounciness, is that so with these as well? Please help if you can

    What’s better one or two? I just got the ones and in the front of my left shoe when I step off it feels like delayed bubbling effect only on top left shoe. Like turbo unit is contracting and making weird bubble expanding feeling when I step off left forefoot that doesn’t happen in my right shoe. I don’t think It’s effecting performance cuz overall they feel same just weird bubbling delayed spring too left shoe
