Road Traffic Act. 1988 Section 36. You may cross a solid white line provided the road is clear to, enter adjoining premises or a side road, to pass stationery vehicles, pedal cycles, horses, road maintenance vehicles travelling at 10 MPH or less.
That's helpful to know about pedal cycles and horses which you have to give a ridiculous amount of space to, as when people are afraid to pass it results in long tailbacks and drivers going into the back of each other. Still dangerous IMO, and a junction like the one Luke mentioned really should have lights.
HC rule 129 covers it in the first paragraph : 129 Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road.
A little bit of advice from an old timer. When having to jackknife in a small yard like that is to unplug all the trailer connections with exception of the red line. That reduces the risk of ripping all the wires out and snapping the yellow service line.
How funny, where you were talking about the delivery you don’t like, I recognised the road. I know exactly where you were talking about and you’re fine to do exactly what you’re suggesting and crossing the double whites. I’ve lived in haslemere for over thirty years so funny to see you there! In fact, I was there there earlier today, moved 10 miles down the road a few years ago. The reason the traffic is using that as a cut through is that it’s safer if you’re heading to Haslemere high street than the junction they would otherwise have used. Very sharp and traffic comes round the right handed on the a road you came off on to the cut through at a right lick!
Used to deliver timber to that place in Haslemere (Hazelmere), its not nice! You have to go further west and go round a roundabout to head back towards the town. The first time I went there I decided not to go down that side of the triangle and then found I couldn’t make the turn at the other end of the triangle! 🤦♂️
Hi Luke, really enjoyed this video.I’ve lived in Haslemere all my life(I’m 73now)and I’ve lost count of the number of trucks that get court out and stuck between the low bridges.Normally continental drivers with fridges! Keep up with the videos👍
Brilliant vlog Luke hope you are well buddy.nice day for you.have you come across any snow ❄️ yet I am glad your brake's are up and running.take care and good luck for the future Phil 👍🍀🇬🇧
Alrite luke great to see you around the menace that is the m6 today (13 feb) 😊 you came on @ j 20 i moved over in a puddle jumper for ya then you flashed me in , and then took off😮 last time i saw you was in the 3 rd lane 😂going past white van man doing 50 in lane 2 around knutford services lol , have a great day fella nice to catch you around .
Hi Luke. Just at the start of video I noticed that you paid good action of kid on pavement. I once had a situation where at cross roads lights, waiting for green , kids about , looked at my off side mirror to see one kid pop out from under the trailer, ie between back of unit and legs of trailer. Obviously it got a polite telling off as two others appeared from same place !! They got told off & reason of …….. !!!!!
Need help my next door neighbours are hell angle biker are going to kill me .I can’t go go to my local police because they have lady police helping them
And then the trailer wheels would’ve locked up. Wait, I know what your replies are going to be . “ put the trailer in shut mode” That trailer has no shunt button
@@lukecinahgv still at best just click bait, the unit would pass an MoT, as you don't fail MoT from having brakes working too well, just defiant braking force, or an imbalance (left ight) in braking force, only a feckless dullard would say the brakes had failed, which to MOST people would imply full or partial loss of brakes, as opposed to the correct statement in this case being a brake fault.

There was a sign indicating a junction and there was no separate instructions for HGV's. So it is a valid legal turning

Yes, the centre lines are for no overtaking, not no turning…

Take all airlines off and press shunt button

It went for mot that means they have wond the brakes up to pass the mot and forgot to wind them afterwards

Hi luke enjoyed the video thanks mate
Why didn't you disconnect your air lines and press the shunt button there's no excuse for stretching your air lines
Not all trailers have shunt buttons. This particular trailer does not have a shunt button
bungee cords used to work for me but was long time ago i drove.
Why driving with high visibility vest?

Gotta be careful. Sometimes kids push each other thinking it’s funny. Always looking out for pedestrians
I don’t know what’s happening to RUclips I followed all the original gang and your the only one that pops up are they still active?
Only really myself and Martyn and Kev upload regularly
🚛👍👍
Perfectly legal to cross double white lines to turn off a main road.
It's tight but they've always had bigger than that down there Drive
😎👍
I am in hospital tonight whiching your vlog
You need a HIAB Luke
A few sessions with a decent chiropractor would do wonders for your posture

You should have took your airlines off to turn round
And then the trailer wheels would’ve locked up.
Wait, I know what your replies are going to be . “ put the trailer in shut mode”
That trailer has no shunt button
Then take them off and just leave the red attached
So the Brakes didn't Fail at all just click bait!
Well they aren’t working as they should so yes.. it’s failed. It would fail an MOT….

it could be your airline to the breaks there could be a leak in the airline to the brakes on the trailer it self

Brakes didnt really fail then, rather misleading to get your views, thumbs down buddy 👎👎
They aren’t working properly so yea.. they’ve failed. It wouldn’t pass an MOT
It isn’t misleading at all.
