As someone who loves thornhill i would say listen to their Dark Pool album (the album where this song is from), it has all the vibes, it has its heavy moments and its extremely well written and overall one of my all time favorite metalcore albums.

That whole album is a vibe and amazing end to end. The rest of their stuff is a bit different but still good

Yay I was thinking of suggesting Thornhill! They're from my city in Australia 😊 Their song Casanova is another good one!

I'm always excited to see someone discover Thornhill for the first time as they are such a great band. It was only a few years ago when I first heard A Dark Pool, and I've been a fan ever since.
Got to see them this summer on a tour with North Lane and Invent animate, and windwaker all the bands were amazing on this bill.
    Cheers 🤘
PS. I completely agree with you on music videos and will never listen to a song for the first time with a video... But I also do not have a reaction channel, so it's a bit easier to execute.

Another Australian band you might like is Birds of Tokyo - suggest listening to Brace, Wild Eyed Boy, Like Rain, and Silouettic. And since you like Aurora, I would also recommend the Australian singer/songwriter Woodes and suggest her songs How Long I'd Wait, Heavenly, Dots, Thaw, and Higher 😊🇦🇺

If you have the time, The Dark Pool album in its entirety front to back is an absolute masterpiece. Definitely worth a listen and a reaction 😮‍💨

@@mndfl.visuals seconded. And one has to listen to it in order. WWGWWD closes the album and it’s one of those moments when it ends where I have to take a moment to compose myself. Every. Single. Time.
I love all the songs on the album, but my absolute favourite is Red Summer. The pause before the drop is sublime.

Their The Dark Pool album came out of nowhere and blew me away. This song especially. Edit: I agree. I always do the «listen to the song first» test and if it passes, I watch the video. Powerful test, but I have found amazing songs though this test.

Same. Listening to music before watching a video can really change your mind about a song

their "dark pool" album is a fuckin vibe. definitely recommend diving into it. their newer album took a big turn, didn't like it nearly as much, but still had some good moments.
completely random rec that just dropped recently: Maximum the Hormone SHIMI feat. ATARASHII GAKKO. we overlap on a lot of artists. think you'll have some fun with this. music vid recommended ( i know you hate them tho lol)

It’s one of the best metalcore albums I’ve ever heard. From start to finish not a bad track. And only one other video, so no distractions 😉

This is off my third favorite album, ranked just below Heavener and Greyview. I think that could tell how you'd like the whole album The Dark Pool by Thornhill :)
I think this song (although it's the most popular one) was harder for me to get into because of the progressive structure, it's a journey with a big payoff at the end rather than it being catchy.
It also took me a couple listens to get into the band as a whole just because Jacob's voice was so high, you usually don't have that kind of problem with metalcore haha.
If you ever decide to listen to the more accessible "Lily and the Moon" from this album, make sure to listen to it right after the previous track on the album because it serves as a beautiful intro to that song!

Alternatively too much sonically vs boring. Once again, screamy vocals that don’t work for me as well. Pass. Thanks!
