Best always, Jamie Corrigan.
What a gorgeous song! It's fun to see a group of musicians so lost in their music that they're not even aware that the audience is there. As a musician, I have always loved that feeling.
@@coco123145 Thanks for the reply, Thomas. :) I've never been. We're from Cornwall and in fact I've only ever been to Co Kerry, Co Cork and Dublin (and the roads between!). I'd definitely like to visit the island sometime. We hope to get back over to Ireland before too long. Very best wishes to you.
@@alexanderkrull6121 Hi Alexander, sorry for the late response. I posted a version on Band camp. patrickkearney.bandcamp.com/track/inisheer-we-know-where-to-go I hope Tom Walsh would approve.
So nice to hear and see it played by the very man who composed it!!! Very soothing! It makes me want to go back there and meet some of the islanders again. First heard it sung, from an artist from Inis Oírr called Lasairfhíona Ní Chonaola, then by Eleanor Shanley and De Danann. 💚🎻🎶☘🚣♂️
So awful that the composer of this so beautiful music is playing x the audience is so disrespectful . Thank you Thomas. What are the wordspeople are talking of?
This is normal and happens regularly. In general, the patrons are there for the restaurant and drink, not the music. It happens sometimes at pub sessions where I play that loud drunks will scream and cuss over us when we play the slow, beautiful songs.
it's so elegant.
Fantastic hearing this piece at the pace it was intended to be. So often i hear it played way too fast. it's a slow Air !!
I Heard A Summer Swan
Call On The Stillness
Of The Air
I Heard A Blackbirds Song
Then I Knew
That You Were Near
My Heart So Long Alone
It Took My Soul
Alone To Hear
All The Hunger Of My Life
Was Just To Know
That You Were Near
There Were So Many Endless Years
Of A Longing Ever Near
Yet Somehow Distant From This Life
Until I Knew That You Were Near
So Many Endless Lonely Nights
Days When I Knew Not Where
Still Yet The Hunger Of My Soul
I Found At Last ------ That You Were Near

Shame That 'The Audience' Were Totally Unaware That 'The Musicians' Were There Too !!!
very nice tune. One of the most beautiful 3/4 tunes I know. Thanks for that
Ta ta for your generous comment.
@@coco123145 I really need to learn to play this tune on my tin whistle
One of the most beautiful melodies in the world
Thank you so much.
Wow Beautiful Tune Well Done Tommy
Thanks for the tune, Thomas. A very fine work loved by a lot of people.
Ta ta Rick, was on holiday in Inisheer July. Well worth a visit if you haven't been to the island.

What a blessing to have this played so movingly by the composer. Thank you, Maestro!
Thank you for your lovely comment.
@@coco123145 Richly deserved.
I love this tune so much. I wrote some lyrics/melody to go along with it. It's so sad the people there don't listen.
I heard you sing it a lot in Tyr Na Nog and I really liked your version and the lyrics. Is there some way to obtain a recording of your version?

Thank you, Patrick! That’s brilliant!
Hi Mr Walsh, some of my favorite waltz dances ever have been to this tune that you composed. It is so romantic. Thank you so much.
Thank you.
the tune that made me learn tin whistle and irish music !
i'd like to be able to sing it too
It's on RUclips as a song in English and Gaeilge.

Pity the congregation seem oblivious to it's beauty. 😕
