You give very good advice. I have some observations. I write high content. My books are picking now, after 6 months. Honeymoon period is always a disaster for me because I go all out with ad spend. Two: what to do when Amazon slashes the price of your main competitor- my book has suffered. My book is on the first page of various keywords. I still run ads because it’s listed second or third. I get sales also from ads and acos ok. But there’s a lot of fluctuation. One day my book is 38,000 BSR, the next close to 200,000. Can’t understand why especially because the others fluctuate very little compared to mine.
Big fluctuations are common when launching a book but shouldn't happen as dramatically when a book has been selling for 6 months. You should have already established your ranking position for your main keywords. It's hard to give you personalised advice without seeing your book, niche and ad campaigns strategy :)
It seems like ads are the closest to real data we have when it comes to looking at our conversion rate. However, I would look at the conversion rate for highly relevant keywords to see if your conversion rate is actually good. Broader keywords will automatically give you a lower conversion rate especially if your book is new because of larger competitors and broader target audience :)
Barry if one of books is really selling well...will Amazon start to push out some of my other books more? Just wondering if you have ever seen that happen.
Great question. I don't think amazon boost your other books but if you have a brand and you include the other books in the a plus content then a shopper can quickly buy your other books as well which can help increase their lifetime value :)
