I was shopping for a guitar today and the Schecter sounded so much richer than a Jackson, Ibanez, and Fender. Plus the Schecters look really really good too. Great price too.
he's done an awesome job with all his videos...only problem I see is that he makes every guitar sound awesome...which makes comparing them really hard!
This is a really cool guitar - I just got mine today and its totally true - these things are a player's guitar... and i'm not even close to as good as this guy. Harmonics are even perfect on the 24th fret!!!
Schecter guitars are fantastic, nothing else needs to be said. What seems to be driving people to say otherwise is the insecurity that there may be a guitar out there that not only plays and sounds as good as a gibson, but cost less as well.
I’ll say it. I had a Les Paul & a SG that i really used for a while. The SG plays easily. This schecter that I now own, plays just as easy. It also has a better tone IMO. Esp for metal. The Duncan’s that mine came w, aren’t active (so what?) as the known metal pickup duo w the EMG humbuckers, surely give high output w out doubt. The Duncan’s I have sound heavy as fuck for metal & also work well for whatever genre one wishes to play. Yeah, this ain’t just a “metal Gtr”. Of course, there’s various other factors aside the type of Gtr that can make an electric sound heavy. I’m just saying, those other factors aren’t as needed when using this thing. This has been yet another ex of where I found that the more money spent on a guitar does NOT = an overall more efficient, diverse, “better” (that surely can viewed as objective) etc etc. I’m sold on Schecter for now due to sounding awesome for most Gtr active genres w Duncan’s.
I certainly will, I still have the stock INF pickups on my Ibanez RG350M, So I'll take pretty much any non-active pickup into consideration if it happens to present itself to me. I just never have been really into buying new pickups and replacing them, although I have been thinking about it. I'll look into the H4's once if i decide on finally replacing my INF's, I'll have to look up some demo videos to judge their tonality/sound and what not first though.
hey dude, i bought mine due to a shop liquidating. I agree though, this video should not be taken into consideration in whether these pups are what someone is after. But i disagree about the emg though, I had the H4 pups and they were slightly higher output but WAY clearer then the duncan designed. But after the DD pups came out of my elite i was kickin myself for not doing it sooner. BUT for mellow cleans, the DD were much more forgiving.
Ah, i got ya. And i agree totally, EMG active are Compressive and "icepicky". But dude give the H4 a chance if ya come accross them, they retain the same sorta EQ balance of the Active but are far more useable. I myself hate active pups.
in addition to the fact that he's not Spanish, just because a lot of people speak Spanish in the US does NOT make it the official language. I don't care if only one person in the US can speak English, the OFFICIAL language is still English until it is changed.
How are these any different from the ESP Horizon series? From the tests I've done they play very much the same. So to me they're practically the same guitar. Body style, Duncan pickups and everything the same. However, the ESPs use 59 neck and JB bridge PUs while Schecters use Jazz neck and JB bridge. And yet I hear ppl bad mouthing ESPs but praising Schecters! LOL!
He's pretty much just saying stuff like "this is what the neck pickup sounds like" and explaning all of the parts of the guitar. He is speaking laotian, by the way.
For some of us, his pausing and talking while pointing at various parts and changes of the guitar were kind of a huge clue. Subtitles can't beat common-sense lol
Not really a "Death Metal" guitar, some of Schecter's other guitars possibly, but this one actually has some decent pickups in it, instead of those silly EMG's.
yeah but so can Americans, and obviously there are a lot of Americans who don't want to listen to someone speak Thai, i said that he should have posted the video in Thai so only the people who could understand the speaking in the video (Thai people) could actually read what it said.
Dopo aver scelto la chitarra ti consiglio di investire in un paio di scarpe... sempre co sti piedi scalzi... chissà che puzza in quel negozio, perciò non ci sta mai nessuno
learn Thai then if you wanna know what he is saying, why does he have to learn English, doesnt that prove already that he doesnt post for you guys he is posting videos for Thai people.
I laugh at the comments about active pickups like EMGs. They are designed for use with high-end parametric EQ rack systems - they have a broader 'full-range' spectrum so that you can dial in whatever tone you like. Of course they will sound 'sterile' and 'characterless' running direct into a typical consumer grade amp. Fools!
it's hard to tell if the guitar is 'bueatifull' unless you decided to buy it (for whatever reason) in the first place, despite the pickups supposedly being 'muddy'. So I'm not really sure what your point is. These pickups are still much better then the stupid EMG's. It's also kind of hard to tell anything soundwise from the video considering that the guy only plays 2 or 3 chords and the same 'lead' riff about 7 times, in addition to the fact that the recording doesn't have the best quality.
A. Not everyone is in a free country...this guy is from thailand. Such is the power of the intarweb B. Why go around watching videos just to tell someone to go fuck a tree?
A suonare, a parte che sei ripetitivo con le tecniche e gli arpeggi a 600bit al secondo, sei bravo, però cristo quando parli a chi ti ascolta viene la cacherella!!!
@XxSconeManxX they are shit pickups in my opinion, they are muddy and turn a bueatifull guitar like this into a muddy sludgy mess. I have a SD invader/59 in mine and its the best guitar i have owned hands down
if he is posting for thai people, then why the hell is the title in english? also, he shouldn't really be talking at all, i've seen plenty of guitar demo's where the player simply DOESN'T TALK, and if you do talk, you should at least play for the same amount of time, if not MORE time, than you talk.
Good demonstration. My perception of Schecters is improving slightly.

I don't know what features he is describing but this sounds pretty nice; not what I expected from one of those death metal guitars.
This guitar is great for blues, rock, country, jazz, punk, funk, whatever....
Great demo of this guitar. I know it well and it freaking rocks.
Put in some Bare Knuckle or Classic 57 pickups and you're done!
I certainly will, I still have the stock INF pickups on my Ibanez RG350M, So I'll take pretty much any non-active pickup into consideration if it happens to present itself to me. I just never have been really into buying new pickups and replacing them, although I have been thinking about it.

Sounds great. That's the point
i like the outline on this guitar
great metal guitar

yes because you buy everything in aisia right? wait no companies change what gear looks like there check the site.

Yeah! Schecter guitars...I think these are under rated guitars...just like Michael Kelly guitars, under rated.

if you listen closly at the beginning you han hear a word that resembles humbucker

Just because the majority of the comments are written in English doesnt mean that he can speak English.

Dopo aver scelto la chitarra ti consiglio di investire in un paio di scarpe... sempre co sti piedi scalzi... chissà che puzza in quel negozio, perciò non ci sta mai nessuno

when the video started my speakers were loud and i was like WTF?

A. Not everyone is in a free country...this guy is from thailand. Such is the power of the intarweb
B. Why go around watching videos just to tell someone to go fuck a tree?
I think he was using his nails as a pick o.O
this schecter reminds me of an ibanez:S dunnow why:P
he's good, i'll give him that. but he seriously needs to focus on playing in a video rather talking if he's going to test out a guitar.

Thai People Can read English
well if you knew that most guitarists who finger pick have long nails on the strumming hand it wouldn't be so "disgusting" :)
rayos que feo toca este chino
lol
@XxSconeManxX they are shit pickups in my opinion, they are muddy and turn a bueatifull guitar like this into a muddy sludgy mess. I have a SD invader/59 in mine and its the best guitar i have owned hands down
that dude's got some nasty fingernails, and thats all i'll say.
if he is posting for thai people, then why the hell is the title in english?
also, he shouldn't really be talking at all, i've seen plenty of guitar demo's where the player simply DOESN'T TALK, and if you do talk, you should at least play for the same amount of time, if not MORE time, than you talk.
They are lifeless and dead. They have no originality in tone at all. That's why I dislike EMG's. High output, but no character whatsoever.
lol
