    Hey Derek. Again, great video!!! I wanted to ask... what’s your take on detoxing. Been hearing a lot of people condescendingly talking about how your liver detoxes your body for you and that any other type of detoxing is pretty much made up. I’m not sure what to believe.

    • @Simnettnutrition
      @Simnettnutrition  5 лет назад +190

      There are definitely variables to our body's efficiency and rates of detoxification. Yes our liver with the help of other organs is always detoxifying our body, but that doesn't mean there aren't foods and nutrients that can't help facilitate it. Think about the simple action of drinking water, the more we drink the quicker and more efficiently our body will be able to rid itself of built up toxins. I am not a fan of detox diets or anything, but people are wrong when they say nothing can be done to help facilitate (or hinder) detoxification. Eating a healthy diet full of whole plant foods and drinking adequate water is more than enough for most people. However there are situations where some help might be needed. Here is a scientific review that talks about it if you would like to learn more. "This review summarizes the research in this area to date, highlighting the potential for foods and nutrients to support and/or modulate detoxification functions" www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26167297
      Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

      As a medical professional for many years, I can tell you that it is mostly junk 'science.' Any detox program that you may have heard of does not truly do much in the way of actually removing any toxins from your body.
      However, if you are not getting the proper nutrition, any changes to your diet for the better will definitely remove harmful toxins and compounds that may have built up.
      Just make sure your meals are properly balanced and you will be fine.

    I've had 16 oz of fresh celery juice almost every morning for 4 years. BTW, the guy who started this says do not add any water. I use my vitamix too but I put just a little to begin with and run it a few seconds until it liquid then I put in the rest. I have had great success with a myriad of symptoms going away. Here are a few benefits I've observed 1) I know longer have bleeding and sore gums and I now longer get cavities, 2) I had some skin tags (I am almost 70) that have gone away, 3) Spider veins in my legs have decreased, 4) I no longer wake up with a head ache in the morning and 5) My energy has increased.

    As a public safety message, since you appeared to eat a stalk of celery straight from the market there is something to consider. Years ago, I worked as a meat cutter at a grocery store and noticed people often come in and handle the meat packages before shopping for produce. Many of them are seeping. This makes cross contamination a very real danger even if you buy the organic produce. It is spectacularly dangerous to eat unwashed produce from a store.

      Monique F I have tried it about a dozen times so far. One great success, and a couple more worked pretty well - the rest didn’t make it, but no big deal, they turn into compost. But it does NOT grow back fast for me. And when it does grow back, the stalks are thinner than it was from the store. I stick it straight into soil outside - I don’t try to start indoors or in water. I would recommend slicing a thin layer off the bottom (it’s usually a little gray and moldy there from the store), then let it dry/heal on the counter for a day or two. If it dries out a bit don’t worry. It will recover over a few days in the soil, gradually greening up and re-sprouting. When it’s first put in soil, don’t overwater, but don’t let soil dry out either. It’s a lot of time and effort if your goal is more celery stalks. But I like to do because it’s fun and a pretty plant imo.

    I wouldn't go a day without it. The best benefits are felt when on its own. If you add anything to it, it decreases the benefits. I haven't always been vegan, and you know what they say, a hotdog stays in your gut for 7 years. So when I started my celery juice about 6 months ago, it was the same for me. Right after I drank it, the pipes were cleaned needles to say. All of that dead toxic waste that had been in my intestines for years, is cleaned out. Well, at least the first layer. I had to quit and restart a week later just to give my stomach a rest, then let's say, the rest of the pipes were cleaned! I'd make a plumber proud! Since then, I don't experience any discomfort, and I love how it instantly gets rid of my brain fog, and any joint pain. I feel this instant coolness on the top of my head and my energy stays up all day. Oh, just a footnote: I saw your video on dumping caffeine, and how caffeine interacts in your body, so I gave it a go. I started last Sunday, just stopped cold turkey, and I have to tell you, today is my first day up and around. I went through major, I mean MAJOR withdrawal. Superbad migraine for three days, nausea, body aches and pains, fever, sweats, leg cramps. Today is my first day feeling slightly normal. I have to say, I will never go back to drinking caffeine. I had no idea that my body was so addicted to that drug. Now I get a sense of what "getting clean" means. Keep up with your great videos, always looking forward to what you post next.

    I’ve been juicing celery for 1 week now. Before starting my knees were so swollen that I could not stand for long periods and had a hard time standing up from sitting. Stairs were painful. My feet would feel like needles were stabbing in all of the foot bone joints by the end of the day. My hips and shoulders hurt for no reason. I had sciatica that would kill my back and hips every day for no reason. My doctor couldn’t explain it. No arthritis, no bone spurs, no disk problems. And I eat healthy food. Very little sugar, lots of veggies, low carbs. After this one week, the swelling is significantly reduced in my knees, all of the other joint pain is reduced by 95%. My bowel movements are regular for the first time in my life. I wake up in the morning without an alarm, and I don’t feel like I’m starting my day feeling run over by a truck. I have NO pain in the mornings, I’m less bloated at night, and I’m not retaining fluid in my legs anymore. Just one person’s story, but I’m not seeing a downside. Even at $4 per bunch for celery, this is cheaper than pain killers and makes me feel better.

    I have had the same effects from celery juice. The stool issue comes and goes. We've been doing it for 6 months now and I am usually just having a soft BM now, no explosive type. We drink 32 oz every morning. It has helped brain fog, inflammation, digestion, detoxing etc and I am sure things I don't even know are happening. The skin breakouts are from the detoxing as I get those as well and am not taking B12 regularly. You must read Anthony's books. I am 57 and I have never read so much good info besides the Bible in one book. If you have digestion issues you WILL end up with other problems in the future. Juice now. Starting when your young if you can.

    Hi Derek, I've been following Anthony William for the past two years and got off four drugs and now I'm healthy at age 65 with no problems. Doctors could not help me heal but they were surely encouraging me to take more drugs every few months, what a disappointment in them. Your method with the bag and mixer is all so tedious and draining to clean afterwards. Since you are young and healthy, there's no need to invest in an expensive juicer. I got myself the juicer that Anthony William suggested and yes, it was expensive but what a difference it makes. I love it and I'm retired on a fixed income and what a great investment this was. Doctors and medicine is more expensive then the darn celery. Oh, and I just want to thank you also for your wonderful recipes, I've tried them and loved your meals. Thank you!!!

    Hi from Vancouver Island!! I did drink the celery juice for about 2 months during the pandemic after my scale started to be mean to me and finding out my sugar levels were super high, I heard form a friend (she is a personal trainer and overall a very healthy woman) that celery juice could help me to regulate my diabetes so I did start the process, not even a week and my sugar level was down for about 4 points, my skin started to feel so soft and my concentration was amazing, memory and alertness, feeling awake and energetic, no sugar cravings and the taste was amazing!! the best part is that the weight started to drop and from the 79 kg that I was carrying went down to 67 and I am maintaining it down, I had to stop for a while cause I could not stop going to the bathroom and was not fun so yes, this amazing veggie is back to my diet, this time will be maybe 2 or 3 times a week as I feel is very potent and I don't want to spend all day on the toilet lol
    Indeed, a great thing to do for yourself, thanks for the video!

    I am on the "Juice-the-Rainbow" bandwagon, because every group of veggies (greens/reds/ oranges, etc) have their benefits. Yesterday I did about 80 percent carrots and 20 percent green apple. And today I did Kale (80%) and pineapple (20%). I make sure to do it in the morning, on empty stomach. I know celery is the thing, but I just feel I am missing out on so much other goodness. Of course I do celery (especially when in a hurry, I do it all by itself) , and I recommend after washing it, rinse it and let it sit in some icy water for 20-30 minutes. It will soak up some water and make your drink refreshing. You are not supposed to add water, so maybe this pre-step will help.

My digestive system is so much better as is my skin. When you first take it you can get loose or have diarrhoea but that goes after a few days. Stick at 16oz until you get used to it then twice a day. To continue with diarrhoea shows high levels of toxicity. 4 months in, about 1.5 hrs after the celery juice, I now get rid of a little mucus from the body only, which is great. I'm staying on it. 😁

    I did the celery juice daily for about 2 months. I am 63, and other than 10K steps daily, I don't do anything I would call a workout, but the wife and I are active (daily) gardeners. I felt my blood pressure was under better control, and I did feel the bowel movement urges on occasion, but that was a plus to me! I eventually stopped, just like you, for the price reason. I historically recollect paying around $1 per head (a bit more for hearts) of celery. Anthony Williams has created a demand crush in the market and the price is out of control... especially for organic. Your video was spot on!

    I had to stop because of the radical evacuations that started at about day 6 .. I put up with it for a while but I had to go to work and my insides were gurgling away all day. It got to a point were everything I ate came straight through. I reduced my glass size but once in motion the toilet urgency never stopped. I gave up at day 10 BUT I have trouble with my blood pressure and it had started to reduce that. My face broke out, which I put down to healing crisis. The most amazing thing I went right off coffee. My caffeine addiction just disappeared no headaches no lethargic early morning I cant function until Ive had 3 cups ... nothing. The celery juice gave me that caffeine buzz without the caffeine! I am going to give it a week or so and start again small glass and build up slowly see how that goes.

      It's your decision whether to try celery juice again. But I will just share my experience. In the first week or so, I was definitely making a lot of emergency runs to "evacuate" (the polite term :-) But after that the problem disappeared. I have read many folks telling the same story. But starting with a small glass & building up slowly is a prudent option. You shouldn't get most of your aerobic exercise by sprinting to the bathroom! BTW, I also stopped coffee thanks to the celery juice. I loved the taste of the juice so much, I just did not need the java.

    • @henryesp9284
      @henryesp9284 4 года назад +4

      No not really. When you drink the juice you are drinking the nutrients and your body will absorb it much better. Your body will have to break down the fibers of the vegetable. Try eating a bag of celery and see how far you get.

    • @paramedivmso4
      @paramedivmso4 4 года назад +4

      If you just eat the celery, pulp,skin and all, your body produces more acid to break down the fiber, pulp, celery skin etc.The acid kills a lot of the nutrients in the celery during the digestion process. You only end up getting the pulp and fiber,which is still healthy but the nutrients and benefits most are looking for are lost. If you just drink the juice it gets absorbed with not as much acid being produced. That is also the reason why you need to drink it on an empty stomach and not eat for a certain time period after to allow your body to process the juice. The juice itself is loaded with benefits and are therefore absorbed straight in to your body with nothing blocking it or too much acid killing it off. To each their own.

    I am a celery juice believer 😂 I thought I was eating the healthiest vegan diet possible but last year my body just started falling apart on me. Developed ovarian cysts, pain in my stomach every morning, psoriasis, joint pain, crippling anxiety. I didn’t want to take all of the pills my doctor wanted to prescribe me. I stumbled across medical medium right when I needed it most. I thought it was crazy! But I tried it... I didn’t have anything to lose! And I can say I feel like a whole new person. I feel alive again. Celery juice will definitely cleanse you at first 😂 but I didn’t just add celery juice, i did way more than that! I added the heavy metal detox smoothie and a ton more fruit. And I took away a lot of foods that he says to remove. Within two weeks my pain and cysts were gone. And it took months for the joint pain and itchy skin to subside but it did. I am also free of the hold that anxiety had on me and ridded myself of a phobia I had as well. Changing my diet like this was the only change I made so I can’t really knock it! 🤷🏼‍♀️🙏🏻🌱🦋
