This was a great help to us. Updated a V2 to a V5 and added a Pro Dash. Perfect detailed breakdown on how to do it. Holley needs to have a link to this in their firmware update section. Keep up the good work!!!

Watched many times and I did like you said to upgrade from V2 to V6. It works perfectly! My tune did not transfer over so I saved it on the laptop from V2 then grabed it from that saved file when I opened V6. Thank you for your clear explanations and your funny "DON'T DO's" and "DON'T MESSAGE ME WITH......." Keep it up, us noobee's need this stuff!

I watched this several times. I followed the directions perfectly, Airplane Mode, Battery Charger on fully charged battery, etc and was able to go from Version 4 Build 6x to Version 5 Build 171 without a problem. Thank you for this video. The only thing I have to add is that I wanted to backup my old configuration. I had to load the earlier version of Holley Software in order to connect to it to back it up. Both 4 and 5 can exist on the same computer.

Your videos have been a tremendous help & are highly appreciated. The condescension is slightly insulting but tolerable for the wealth of knowledge & your experience, & I get it. I am a welder/heavy equipment operator in the natural gas industry & a technological moron so a lot of simple, elementary tasks for most people familiar with computers is lost on myself & those like me, hell I live so far out in the sticks I literally am unable to get any form of internet access from any company, including satellite internet so those like me aren’t tech savvy & luckily don’t need to be. That said tasks a perform on the daily I too get irritated when people can’t figure out what I consider mundane & common sense. Anyway I’m done whining over that now, again thanks for all you do & for getting out the crayons for Neanderthals such as myself and cutting the elephant into bite sized pieces.
Good video, ive done several updates myself this will be something i send to people when i get asked. BTW the usb to can does the update alot faster

Appreciate the content! I will say, I had a tough time getting one dominator to install the first v5. It took several tries to get it past the bam header. Once it did, it paused and lost connection but let me reconnect while it was flashing. I assume it lost connection during the bam header. I’ll never get that time of my life back.....
I can tell you get irritated by the constant torrent of stupid questions, but this is hilarious! It's a shame this is necessary.

Nice video my friend. I watched this video for my V6 update. Everything went well except when I fired the car up, the O2 sensor burnt out. Any reason for that?

you don't need a crappy flash drive, you can format any flash drive to any file system. the newer ones will have better transfer rates.
lets not get ahead of ourselves here, while im 1000% you are correct, teaching some how to do it will be your worst nightmare
@@theholleyefiguy You're right, most car guys aren't computer guys. But you just right click on the drive, click format, and select the file system type, then format and done.
@@camj256 My flash drives are Fat32 (default) ....which format should I choose? The options are NTFS and exFAT. THANKS!
Ok question is how do you download from Ecu? The pro dash 12.3 and the terminator neither came with the usb cable to connect to the computer laptop. Only a female end for a usb. Do I have to go buy one?!
Any suggestions for timed out RTC?

For a basic Holley HP setup, N/A, no trans control or drive by wire, what is the benefit of V5 vs V4?

I seem to be getting a random comunication issue. I've done v5 firmware updates with full charged battery, ecu wired directly to battery ,& changed usb cable & it still won't let me enable static timing .

I need help. My Holley EFI V5 can't find the GCF on the SD card. Any help will be welcomed.
Mine doesn't display 171 ,just 170. Idk whats going on.
Start==>settings==>control panel==>power and sleep==> change power plan to high performance, switch the actions to plugged in and battery power to never sleep. Dude you are to funny, I have a reputation at work start install next next next etc finished...LOL. FAT32 is good for transferring file up to 4GB only, as long your files are smaller then that you can copy to the flash drive.
The first thing I heard that made me cringe was you mentioned terminator x lol so now some guy is gonna say I watched devins video and it said to put V5 on my terminator x
So does anybody know what actual file structure format the flash drives needs to be in to work. If not FAT32 then does it need to be NTFS or some other format? Anybody know?
CHARGE THE BATTERY
I did as you said. It got Bam Header downloaded and then when it went to EFI ECU Flash i got an error message #29 and everything has frozen up. Help

Terminator x can not be updated to a v5
