Dark Souls - How to get the Gravelord Sword from Firelink Shrine (Easy/Quick)

- Here is my guide on how to get the Gravelord Sword from when you first get to Firelink Shrine. This method is very quick and easy. Gravelord Sword is the new Drake Sword!
You will need at least 1 Eye of Death in your inventory for the cinematic to work in the coffin. The warrior class recommended due to best starting stats to two hand this weapon.
16 Str and 13 Dex required to double hand the weapon.

Depends. The Gravelord Sword is one of 2 swords in the game that apply poison. It has very high damage especially if you get it early on but low scaling. This means you can put points in other places after you meet the requirements for the Gravelord sword.

Awesome weapon. Makes bosses easy. Only drawback is it upgrades on demon titanite.

Awful scaling + excellent base damage = spend all souls on vit, end, pyro while ignoring str and dex

It seems much harder on remastered. That titanite demon is fucking aggressive.
If people are struggling with the jump, could just back your save up right before the jump then just reload it if you fail

I randomly went to this area and decided to sit in the coffin for a bit and alt tab. I tabbed back and I saw that I was being transported to another area and it freaked me out
well its alot harder then it looks :O
Yeah, I died about six times doing it and gave up on Pinwheel after he killed me a few times. He's easy with more health, but you're mighty fragile when trying to do this at SL 6 or whatever.

Dont need to fight pinwheel so early. But if you want to, just summon Leeroy and it's easy as shit even at SL 6. I started a new game and with some practice was able to get the silver serpent ring out of tomb of giants. Not too difficult actually and it's a game changer if you have it early on. Plus learned a method of raising my sword up to +15 before ringing either bell. The gargoyles died so fast after that haha

It helped alot for me but had to watch it again I had miss jumped it from the wrong spot but I finely got the gravelord sword
If you jump from a ledge in firelink shrine just to the left of the steps and go down the well with the body flopped over it, you can get this even faster. Shortcut straight to the sarcophagus. Just found the shortcut today.

well, i finished demon souls without too much struggle and i had a similar problem in dark souls because the same reason. figured it out quickly tho. some ppl are good at videogames but dont pay too much attention to stats or manuals hahaha.
tip: DONT FUCKING KILL NITO AND THEN DO THIS
Favorite DkS1 weapon. Black Knight Halberd go to in the sequels.

Drake swords pretty good still considering all you have to do is shoot a dragon with a few arrows
+Terrell Lyle It's a very good weapon for the very early/early game, but it loses its touch after not too long due to a lack of stat scaling and easy reinforcement/modification.
I agree.the drake sword is better.and this makes the game easy.bull$% if you ask me
Drake sword is extremely good early game, but eventually no matter how much you upgrade it becomes horrible and this sword, while harder to get, can carry you through the whole game
can you upgrade these weapon? or is tjis like the dragon sword which get useless after a bit of gamehours?
+Ungegurkt You can upgrade this weapon throughout the game with Demon Titanite. You can also beat the game without upgrading the weapon if you play well.

The first time I found this jump was by accident, I jumped instead of dodging an attack on the ledge and made it. Of course, when I want to make the jump I can't...

How do you get into the coffin? Do you need a specific item?
No just go there and press x or whatever button the game tells you to press.. I'm gonna take a second one just to equip to gravelord swords at once too see how good it looks lol

Hey so im playing on remastered and for some reason no matter how long i nestle in the coffin, it still wont take me to the location of the gravelord sword

No, only before killing him can you join.
You need 16 strength and 13 dex.

Awesome video dude! That sword must be ridiculously powerful, as that was doing as much damage as my endgame build of my most recent playthrough.
I'm guessing you can't use this as a shortcut to Nito when you have to fight him later on right?

You need an eye of death in your inventory and it does take a while to work.
How do I leave the area without a Homeward Bone?
Use the darksign in your inventory if you don't have a homeward bone.

Is this weapon more worth it then the black knight halberd ?
The black knight halberd has higher stat requirements and also isn't a guaranteed drop. Both are good weapons but the gravelord sword is easier to get/use at the beginning.
AusGameMachines i got the halberd, sword and great sword on my first play through. I went to the catacombs to get the gravelord sword but i can’t choose between the halberd and the gravelord sword. Halberd hits hard but is pretty slow one handed so you can’t really parry and the sword hits pretty hard too but less than the halberd, its faster one handed so you can parry. Also, what does the gravelord sword dance does ?
@@pohatu1873 Use the weapon that suits your playstyle. I personally don't use the black knight weapons. The gravelord dance is an big aoe attack with spikes coming up from the ground.

level up strength to 16. Then you can two-hand it. If your strength is 24 then you can one-hand it.

Nah, this is the only way to get to the covenant I believe.
AusGameMachines I thought it was impossible to get it when Nito was dead. I know you'll still be in the covenant, but you can't join.
