All valuations were correct at the time of broadcast. Bought at an auction for £100, this beautifully handcrafted music box was carefully restored by its new owner. Must have been great to be wealthy back then, owning all these marvellous gadgets and just taking them for granted. Life has always been good for the rich it seems. We are lucky that iPhones and such have been mass produced today that anyone can own one if they want one. Back then there weren't enough finely crafted music boxes to go around.

Not sure, but is there some confusion in the comments about the venue? It says "...filmed in Highclere Castle in 1999..." I've never been to the setting for the Downton Abbey series but I'm skeptical that they have a room this size in that castle.

Yes you’re right about that, this particular room is actually my bedroom and it was out of bounds for the series. 😮
