Gosh i love Yeongja's words, shes so positive and inspirational. People all have different body types and no way are 5 tomatoes gonna fill anyone up
YKJL That's the truth, no matter how frustrating haha. That's why I really respect Yeongja out of all the MCs. I definitely relate to having a different body type XD Compared to asian women, I'm not petite or slim or anything that's 'worshipped' by society/media. When I use to exercise on a weekly basis (I use to swim for about 2 hours a week and there was gym class as well which was about an hour 2 or 3 times a week in school), i never became a slim, petite person but just a more toned version of my body shape. We need to start embracing our body for what it is and not try to change it, shape or anything, just because we "don't like how it looks" or society tells us we aren't 'beautiful' (even though funnily enough, a lot of it is in our head).

edit: at the time I wrote this comment o only watched the concern halfway. I had the same reaction the mother had at the end when she told the middle child to ask his dad for a toy. I though that the middle child had the dad. But as I continued to watch the concern I realized that he is a really shitty dad and I wouldn't want any of my kids to grow up in that environment

First concern, the fact that the oldest is aware that he's younger brother is being favort among the 3 really hurt me because that is something he won't easily forget if the dad does not fix his discrimination problem. And that the baby looked uncomfortable and didn't want to be near his dad was like, what did you do to them. No one would blame the baby for sticking out his tongue

The people who comes on the show usually is too stubborn and set in their views or is in a tunnel vision and doesnt know that they are being harmful... without a shock to the system it is unlikely they will ever change!! I love his passion and actually want to help resolve the issues... those around him is really lucky to have someone who is so caring
Its obvious that this was needed to be said, everyone was aware of that. But agencies teach Korean stars (Hosts, Idols, comedians, actors) actual "variety lessons" there are actual rules and patterns to go with in variety shows, so stuff wont get too serious or awkward or one sided. So even if someone is 100% at fault, in a korean variety show you cant just -lets say- "let someone down like that" or the show will get a bitter taste if that makes sense. There always must be be a chance of recover and sympathy. Watch other variety shows and you'll see the same patterns. Every korean agency also teaches stars "Variety behaviour".

I've noticed that recently the hosts of the show have become more aware of how big some of these concerns are and have started to take them more seriously. AND I LOVE IT. I used to be so frustrated with this show whenever there was a serious concern and the hosts would just brush it off or make light of the problems and make them more family friendly for tv. Like nah YALL NEED TO REALIZE AND SPEAK UP. That's the only way things can get resolved and not pushed under the rug. GOOD JOB KBS 👍🏻👏🏻

Yes, I've noticed this too. I was particularly pissed off after they made light of a woman with bulimia and so was everyone else in the RUclips comments so I'd like to think the changes are because of us, lol. Either way, it's definitely a lot better now.
Actually they re trying to solve the problem lightly with a pinch of laugh. No narcissistic wants to held responsible. So they make them understand funnily so that they dont think the hosts are "ganging" up on them
They tell Taejoon his example is mean, but I would've taken it up a few notches. "Say you get sick when you're older and he's taking care of you, but he just says "Let's go tomorrow". Say your wife gets sick instead and SeoJun immediately takes her to the hospital. How would you feel? What if you asked him why he's not taking you to the hospital and he just said "you're only feeling like this because you're stupid"? What if he came back home for the holidays and got everyone but you a present? What if the second kid rebels against your overbearing love and runs away from home and now you're left with two kids who don't care about you?"

The other thing that I usually observe in such family units is that the one who is spoiled will have a hard time later in life, and the ones who get mistreated will tend to be much kinder. They likely treat the parents well, including the one who tortures them, and when the spoiled one becomes irresponsible, the abused ones take good care of their parents, but still continue getting mistreated even after they show how much of a good person they are. Sad, but then of course, there would also be the ones who treat others well, and hate both the parent who tortures them and the sibling who is the favorite.
Srs hands down to Apink on Hello counselor ep not only they get up to greet the audience ( they are the only guests to do that ) but also they argued and said their thoughts and that's we can't find on other guests
If you watch Hello Counselor regularly you will see that idols won't say what they want so ppl won't say they are rude cuz you know Knetizens they make problem from everything but not Apink this time i really appreciated what they did and you know that their concept is cute so they can't show their anger that much

I really like Eunji and Taejoon. They speak up about a lot of these concerns and attempt to make the people see what's wrong with their actions and such. Many seem to make jokes and brush it off, which gets frustrating at times because most of these concerns are legit problems that need professional help (worst case scenario). I hope more guests, along with the fixed hosts, speak up more in the future

My brother grew up spoiled and ended up becoming abusive to my mother and me when he hit puberty and realised he had power over us, the only person he didn't abuse was my dad because he would give him everything. Once when I teased my brother, my brother beat me up for it and I came down stairs dripping blood from my nose crying for my dad to help me- he told me to apologise to my brother for provoking him. My brother is now in jail after being abusive to women in his life. This story upsets me so much because I can see what will happen in the future is this isn't rectified.
This is really heart breaking.. One mistake can ruin our whole life

Sorry to be the devils advocate but there's nothing there between them anymore. When they shook hands she tried to pull away and the space between them was so wide. She sat more towards Eunji. Then later on they switched seats and sat apart. Also, when they described when they felt feelings she didn't say anything but yes I did but he said it was when she cooked stir fried octopus for him. It's so heart breaking but as we all know WGM is kinda scripted.

The second issue is pretty much just South Korean culture in a nutshell. They can't really speak up to their superiors, and even if you have a superior who doesn't mind it, the thought that you can't do that is simply ingrained so much that they don't and instead suffer.

Most of the comments are about the first case. Okay, I understand how you see it, I'm a first child myself and I can see my parents favour my younger sibling so I got mad at the father, but what about the last case? Eating disorders are a huge problem, especially in Korea, where there is a lot of pressure to be petite or just really slim in general. I'm definitely not here to say that skinny is not beautiful, of course it is and I can see why it's desirable. The problem is when, like the sister, you take dieting too far and neglect the consequences. Starving yourself can have irreversible effects on your body, which may not be visible at present but they will for sure be as you get older. And when you do you'll probably be regretting it and start realising there were healthy ways to lose weight effectively and that physical appearance may not matter so much after all. But the people who told her all those mean things are also to blame for her condition. She might be prone to these things, but they definitely helped create insecurities. I know what I say is just a youtube comment and I'm just a girl who's worried for those around her, but please keep in mind that starving yourself is not the answer and no matter what others say you should only start a diet if you yourself feel like it and are not forced by an outside factor like beauty standards.

I'm not saying that she should just be careless with what she eats but people really need to think about the things they say. Sometimes it's easy for people like us with high metabolisms to forget that some people can't eat a lot without gaining weight. We also shouldn't judge when we eat unhealthily ourselves.

I think Taejoon was seriously angry at the father. Throughout the session he had a bad expression on his face. And when he talked to the father about the example, the way he spoke was different from how he usually gave advice to guests. Even if it's variety, the show members are still human, and their emotions can get out of their control.
I think Yeongja-shi and the rest told him he was too mean because they could tell that Taejoon was getting heated up and wanted to lighten his mood.
It made me happy to see Taejoon say what he wanted. Perhaps on this show, if the members were allowed to say what they really felt, and gave the advice/warnings they would give in a non-filmed situation, maybe the problems would be solved more efficiently. But it's part and parcel of being in entertainment I guess.

The fact that the last one only got 73 votes shows that there's a serious issue in South Korea when it comes to all these crazy ways to slim down your body to look like an idol. There are female idols who are 5'6 that weigh around 90Ib. I would expect them to weigh less than the average American female but they weigh too little. Most didn't see this as a concern but if she continued the diet, she would've probably died sooner than she should've. I guess she wanted to lose weight on her legs but all she did was build a lot of muscle on them. She doesn't even focus specifically on her legs and isn't educated on these things either. She just believed what others said. There are literal female idols sitting on that stage who're telling you you're fucking up, I would much rather believe someone who has knowledge on it too. The fact that not even 100 people in the audience saw this life threatening diet as a concern is... a concern.

The last concern...I used to eat almost exactly how much she ate and I used to starve myself for three days after regular sized meals. This is an anorexic mindset and I developed an eating disorder due to it and no doubt she probably has an osfed/ednos (basically a developing eating disorder)
She needs to eat healthy and sustain herself because she isn't surviving at this point in her life
