    Anil Kumble also was a good player but things didn’t go well between kohli and kumble. Gautam also talks his mind. His success will depend on how the captain gets along well with gambhir.

      GG is aggressive when you are on the other side , behind the scenes he is just opposite ask KKR management, he is more like Gary Kirsten in approach with streaks of brendon mccullum as a coach, but here ofcourse more superstars than in KKR with players having mind of their own. He will do just as good Rohit Sharma is different human altogether that's a huge plus. Its in T20 where GG will have to navigate things, Kumble was too rigid plus Virat was the captain GG isnt as rigid as Kumble contrary to his on-field image. Many may not agree I thought Kumble was more rigid wrt processes while GG is more rigid and determined wrt results, you can choose your process but if it doesnt give result GG provides an alternative that's his philosophy

    For the first time that I am following Indian cricket for last 40 years I am seeing a coach more powerful than the captain, selection committee chairman & BCCI president. Gives me a feeling of European football team where coaches are the boss.

    Mr Bhogle Gambhir's greatest challenge is going to be keeping his own emotions in check. We Indians are an emotional lot and we need a leader who plays a calming influence. Dravid succeeded because he trained to be a coach. He started at the bottom and adapted and did not hog the limelight. Gambhir in some ways exactly the opposite. The players will have difficulty in adapting to his more authoritarian approach. He did contribute to India's two World Cup wins, but other than the match saving double hundred in NZ his overseas test record was abysmal. His character in standing up to fast bowling in 2011 in England was questionable. 39 year old Dravid ended up opening the batting and Gauti, hiding behind his so-called injury batted down the order. So in short, he talks the talk, but doesn't always walk the walk. He has never coached at any level. India needs a Qualified Coach, not an ex player. Youngsters like Jaiswal understand, respect and acknowledge that. Case in point Zubin Bharucha. There is a brilliant lot of young qualified coaches coming through the Indian ranks. They would have made a far better choice. Just like you are a trained journalist who does a far better job than most ex cricketers, which is also acknowledged by your audiences (whatever the ex cricketers might say). It is high time we stop ex players hijacking this game. Clubs are making it mandatory for coaches to be certified. So why not the national team. If you want to be a national coach, go and get the qualifications like Dravid did and start at the bottom. Journalists like you should be pointing this out to the Board. Ex-players trained to be players, not coaches. They need to retrain and commit to their new career choice. Sports channels should also make it mandatory for ex cricketers to undergo a course in journalism/media. Currently this entire debate is hijacked by ex cricketers. They need to understand that their careers are over and we as a society should let them know this. Gautam Gambhir does not deserve to succeed as a coach on merit. He doesn't even deserve to be there!

    • @user-et1ed8lz6w
      @user-et1ed8lz6w Месяц назад +4

      Obviously you cannot compare Dravid and Gambhir in terms of batting ability. Dravid is an all time great, Gambhir was just an average international player. But I don’t think that is a problem in terms of coaching.

      @kulathumanis6777 Месяц назад +2

      Some of the best coaches are average players, so don't get me even started there. At this level they don't need much "coaching" in terms of skills. What they need is mentoring and that's his forte. Whatever his faults as a player, his passion for his team, being the ultimate team man and fiercely nationalist are huge attributes. So I don't agree with you at all. But the proof will be delivered to both of us soon. Let's wait and watch

    Harsha sir you deliberately avoided talking much about ruturaj . The selection committee, the coaches , the media are the main reason for the talents wasted . The team selection is just based on personal likings of the committee. Following are your words on ruturaj after initial matches in ipl 2024 ; At the moment if there is a t20 team without ruturaj it may be from another planet . Ruturaj has always performed well but the problem is that je doesnt have a pr team like gill or other overhyped players. Ik very well this comment like many others will be neglected . Indian cricket day by day is just getting over shadowed by internal politics and favouritism. This isnt only about ruturaj there are and were many such players with immense talent but the bcci members wasted their career due to personal grudges . A recent example which was quite hyped was of the exclusion of rayudu from the wc 2019 due to problems with then cheif selector msk prasad . I have utmost respect for you, but you should also be vocal about this .

      As for talking 'diplomatically ' that's putting it mildly ! He now takes great care to ensure that he is on the right side of the powers that be. If you notice, he tends to skirt around contentious issues or takes the side of those in authority. Witness his comments on the Rohit - Hardik captaincy issue at MI on this very channel and you will get what I mean. He took the side of the MI owners and feigned surprise about Hardik being booed, even faulting fans for expressing their anger in the only way they could !

I think coaches like Gary Kirsten and Rahul Dravid are strict and on field and very friendly off field hence people can connect with them very well share problems and have feeling of playing for country and coach - that thing could be missing in Gauti's innings as a coach. And Gambhir has never lacked for character or courage. Ofcourse only time will tell, right man at the right time, it feels like. But it also feels like a all or nothing deal. Mr Bhogle you had justified the replacement of Rohit Sharma by Hardik Pandya as just another corporate decision. The Ambani hire and fire. Nothing wrong with a secret captaincy clause in Hardik Pandya's contract. Yes the Ambani management including Boucher, Tendulkar, Pollard have the right to put their choice of captain in place. But should'nt they have given Rohit Sharma to look for a move through the IPL auction in December 2023. A captain who has led MI to 5 titles. An admired , selfless leader of the Indian cricket team. where is the sporting spirit. You Mr Bhogle justified it as normal boardroom moves. Just see how Rohit Sharma & Rahul Dravid have supported Hardik Pandya and created a warm and bonded dressing room.

      This is life Venu ji! Do you think Hardik would have come as just a player after winning an IPL as captain? The circle of life moves on. Franchise sports is new in India, but this is what happens all over the world. The aging players get pushed out, the team gets built around young ones after a cycle.
      The problem here in India is that we have to respect everyone and keep everybody happy. Successful clubs worldwide don't operate like that.
      All business no emotion!

      @@MrKushaagra So you disrespect your captain who has led your franchise to 5 titles. A captain who is lauded and respected as one of the best in international cricket circles. So your favourite Hardik Pandya has won 1 IPL title and deserves the captaincy. Ha ha. At least tell Rohit Sharma so that he can move on to some other franchise. Egg on Ambani and MI management face. Now Rohit Sharma is the WC T 20 winning cricket captain. No rancour with Hardik. Treated him with full respect. That's the spirit of cricket. Now front runner Hardik Pandya has been replaced by Surya Kumar Yadav as Indian T 20 cricket captain. Ha ha. More egg on Ambani and MI management face.

      @@venugopalrao3597 Venu ji I don't watch cricket at all. I've no favourites. I'm trying to convey that going forward business decision will take precedence over other things. I was a big fan of David Beckham, Roy Keane from Man United. They were the soul of the club. They got removed in an instant. Similarly, favourite basketball players like Russell Westbrook got traded for future prospects of the team. We are generally very bound by emotions. I'm just letting you know that franchises don't work like that.

      Venugopalrao - COMPLETELY agree with U. Those that justify Hardik over Rohit have simply lost their marbles. According to them Rohit is good enough to win the WC but not good enough to lead a franchise team. Utter rubbish. Also, they should have given him a way out before they made that change. This wretched Ambani family is ruining everything good in this country!

      @@KartikKumar-hc5iz Appreciate your opinion Kartik ji. Understand the sentiment associated with Rohit's captaincy. But how come the Ambani family has ruined everything in India? They have given lakhs of jobs, thousands of businesses came into being because of the Jio revolution. Anant Ambani's wedding itself has given so many jobs. In fact you might be using a jio sim as we speak. 😂

    Is Chat GPT better than Harsha? It is almost good enough to mimic his voice and face. If Harsha has over 25 years of experience in Sweet Talk, with cricket just serving the context to speak, then Chat GPT needs no time at all.
    When AI is good enough to beat chess grand masters then Sweet Talk is no brainer.
    When technology can plant hair and fashion the hairstyle then it can substitute for a real human with little bit of context thrown in. LLM can be trained successfully.
    AI lacks heart. ¿
    Who cares for heart? People are not hired because they possess good heart. People develop good heart just to be reackoned and for retention.
    Well spoken as always.
    Good luck.
