He’s never had a singing lesson, this is all pure talent
Australia's Lucky Dip....
That keeps surprising new viewers after all these decades!!!
We LOVE him...😂😅😊❤❤
LOVE this song. I recently watched a behind the scenes video of John now in his 70's planning a music set, for an upcoming charity show. I honestly can't remember which song they were discussing but the producer wanted him to sing it, and John said, in Australia talk, "I honestly don't think I have the chops to do that one anymore" meaning he didn't think his voice or stamina could do that song justice. Obviously, in his 70's John can't jump around the stage and sing as he could as a young man, although he seems to still hit every note perfectly. I just thought that it was just "so John like" that he didn't want to try the song and possibly disappoint his fans. He is a generous man with a beautiful heart and soul.
OMG is he doing a gig again?
🤩 What and when is the new gig? I want to be there if I can!
I know the video you talking about. It was from 2018 before John did a charity concert for bushfires. He was talking about the song Help
Yep, always under rating himself 🤦🏼♀️
@@nica7587 Crazy. Because I was at the bushfire gig and he was amazing.
That, my friend, was nowhere near an F5. In fact, the note you pondered on is a Bb5 - a perfect fourth (5 semitones) above F5. Which is absolutely crazy for a male voice. But, as always, the master with the best voice I've ever heard nails it.
❤
This man just kills any song any decade any era
...and THIS is exactly why you are far and away my FAVE reactionist. Your mannerisms are the BEST. The way you appreciate Farnsey is just so uplifting. Keep doing you, Nic. xx
You make me smile with the amount of respect and admiration you have for john's talent....he's one of our very best.....😊❤👏
Love love John Farnham! Such a legend. 😍
Goat Farnham 🗣🔈🔊🌻
❤❤❤ gorgeous John,so special
Thanks for doing my request man! As always, Farnsey is insane. 💪🏻💪🏻
That was absolutely mad! Thanks, I've never heard that before.
Good call Dan
Fabulous request Dan, just when I thought I couldn’t be gobsmacked by John anymore!! Never heard him sing Georgia - beautiful!
@@jorice5528 thanks jo! This is one of those rare gems I found years ago and am so happy I could make people aware of it! He’s incredible.
@@danschiavello 1oo%👍🏻
I love watching you love John Farnham ❤️
remember hes young here so he actually improves over and over , but even here hes so good naturally
Your reactions to our John just make me smile so much. They renew the joy, love and respect I have for this man’s incredible talent. So many times over my life I have had chills listening to him. I hope you keep discovering him - enjoy the Farnsy ride.
When nothing else lifts my depression, listening to your reactions to ‘Farnsey’ always puts a smile on my dial 😁
😂😂😂 You were moments ago talking about singers hitting whistle notes, and then John goes and does this 😂 I’ve actually never seen or heard John do this song & I thought I heard & had seen it all! Cheers for introducing me to it 😁👍
I hadn't heard this either - the surprises keep on coming.
This is from Farnham & Byrne - a TV variety show starring John Farnham & another Australian female singer Debbie Byrne made in the 80’s
I believe this is from John's TV show with Debbie Byrne (Farnham and Byrne) in 1980, so John would have been 31 years old. The full title of the song is Georgia On My Mind.
He is uniqe. This mans voice is one in a million. I hope to see him on stage again soon.
Unbelievable the amount of Talent he has and there mainly live performances.
He is so underrated around the world.
isnt it funny how music does not know time ,colour, race, continent.. and those who make it are truly a gift from God. Stay safe bro. hope youre felling better. we hear you here even though its a bit far.
You are such a character make me smile everytime you do a reaction😊
When you've got it, flaunt it! Faaaaaarnsey!
Hi sweety ! I hope you are feeling better physically after being so unwell . I know you’ve be struggling after your friend past away . John a,es everything better be it when he was 19 or now in his 70’s . He really does make a bad mood lift up high . Stay safe sweety xoxo
This would be about 1980, I think. (Bet he didn't know he'd get to sing with Ray Charles one day!) And to think that he was a heavy smoker then! Just incredible. Another great reaction from you, as always when you hear John Farnham 😊
Talking about Falsetto Lol John said in an Interview Once when asked where he gets his amazing voice From And He said He Really Never had any Vocal Training or vocal Exercise It was Something that came Naturally it was always there ....He also said When He sang You're the voice for the first time He did the High Notes The DOWN THE BARREL OF A GUNNNNNNNNN in Falsetto and His Manager and album producer said it Sounded Bloody Awful So he came in the next day and said DITCH EVERYTHING just give me a Microphone thats it and he sang the entire Song in his Natural Singing Voice and Everything Fell into place and from that moment on John Solidified himself as one of the Greatest Male Vocalists Alive ....So John uses no Falsetto No Anything this is his Natural Singing voice And its the same Voice we hear him in Songs and Its the same Voice he has now at Age 72 ❤🙌
He does use falsetto. Burn For You and Chain Reaction, for example, have very obvious falsetto. It's for the effect, not because he couldn't hit it in full head voice.
@@andoletube I disagree Wanna know what Falsetto sounds Like Take a Listen to the Bee Gees they are Falsetto in full effect John has NEVER been a One to Use Falsetto no matter what you might think Hes a Really talented Gifted and Skilled Vocalist one of if not the Best in the World He has Specifically Said He Does NOT use Falsetto because His Falsetto is Very Extremely Weak So instead he just uses his Normal Voice as we hear him in most songs thats the voice we all know and love and That voice we hear is Certainly NOT Falsetto You're the Voice isnt Falsetto, When He Sang his song "Angels" and Hit High Notes that wasnt Falsetto Even when he sang "HELP" That wasnt Falsetto he did those songs in his Natural Singing Voice And that is what we all know and love
@@traviscarlson6718 John can contradict himself, he's only human. You can tell when it's falsetto when it "flips" quickly into a higher register from an existing note. It's clearly in evidence in Burn For You. If you don't realise that, you are lacking in technical knowledge about the difference between head voice and falsetto. To do the rapid flip, or yodel, it must be falsetto. If it was head voice, it wouldn't flip so rapidly because head voice is continuous with chest voice. John sings 99+% of the time the way you stated, but there are a few examples of him using falsetto. John sings on instinct - he probably doesn't even realise of care when he's doing it.
Your reactions give me so much joy! Thank you
Oh John is just the best.🇦🇺💖
He’s SIMPLY the BEST… ❤️ ur reactions to our John Farnham.
Thank you! For playing this awesome rendition of this classic, AND for picking that F5, finally, someone that can actually KNOW a note when they hear it!! No, don't doubt yourself, it was an F5! Oh, just thought I'd mention this. Around this time, and well into the nineties, John used to smoke 60 cigarettes a day! A DAY!! And still could belt it out. Makes you wonder what he could've accomplished if he DIDN'T smoke?!
Sorry for your loss, my deepest condolences.🙏
I’d say it’s the 70’s because his hair got longer in the 80’s when he rocked the longer mullet.
Hair knows.
His diversity never ceases to amaze
...and not a single singing lesson. Except all the music he listened to & absorbed like a sponge- & then delivers his versions { you're right } with a fully equipped 'tool kit'. 👍
{ Maybe back when he was a Plumbers Apprentice he learnt not only the importance of having 'great pipes' but of having the right tools for the job too!} 🤣😉😂😊
Im sure he rehearsed but then he adlibs live. Fantastic pipes 😊😊😊🎉🎉🎉
Beautiful song and the first time I've ever heard JF sing it! What a stella job 🧡
Just awesome work from Farnsey and you my friend are a god tier level reactor, keep ‘em coming!
Nick just loved loved loved your reaction....Another first time seeing this clip....wow....I'm with you in having 'chills' It kinda sad the world didn't take notice of him way back then....here in Aus we all knew what a treasure he was/is. Keep then coming Nick
Wow, first time heard this song!!👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️ Wish, my name is Georgia! Love it❤❤❤
I love your musical knowledge and appreciation of this great artist. “ Farnsy”, just the best. Stay Well
Wow. Great song. Great reaction.
What did you do before you found John? I love it and you have started playing songs I have never heard him sing. Like this one,I know the song but I had never heard John sing it before. I think it was the 70’s and now I have to find out.
My goodness that was phenomenal. Thankyou
I'm glad you love John Farnham. He is an amazing singer.
You probably don't know this, but John Farnham is a really big Stevie Wonder fan. And he once sung one of his songs live on stage. It was "All in Love Is Fair", and I highly recommend for you to react to that one. Please react to it?
He also did John Farnham - Love's in Need - Stevie Wonder (High Quality)- it's on RUclips and it's great, John and all his band and backup singers get it done
Ahh thank you Nick! I thought I was a John Farnham fan. I’ve seen him live a number of times (incredible as you’d expect) - but you keep pulling out these gems that I didn’t know he’d done!
He keeps amazing me >so do you. I follow most of your video's.
Notice the 'polite' clapping of the day...these days people would have been cheering him. He was way ahead of his time!
Love your reactions to our Aussie music.❤
❤️❤️❤️ he melts me every time
One of John's older songs that I have always loved is Everything is Out of Season. This song shows where John's singing was heading in his later years. But you will probably have to listen to a recorded version because I'm not sure he has ever done a live version of it.
From his clothes, shoes and hair, this is about mid-1970's, when John sang on TV variety shows.
Agreeing with Bflat, someone commented below.
before glenn wheately
People: Yeah male sings just don't sing like this after puberty.
John: "Hold my beer"
this song looks like the john farnham caberet singer prior to glenn wheatley and LRB and then "Jack"
As always your reactions are entertaining as your conversations with the clips. Keep up the good work❤❤
He joined Little River Band in 1980, and I'm pretty sure this is earlier. This does sound like his younger voice too, I would say late 70's. Feel free to kill me if I'm wrong.
Wow that was fantastic
Phenomenal 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️❤️❤️
I did read some time back that John Farnham and Pavarotti were the only 2 male singers with the range they have, different singers but both have a huge range, that is before Dimash came on the scene, and if you haven’t gone down that rabbit hole yet then please check out SOS, and Love is Like a Dream. Awesome voice.
My all time favourite song...you should sing this Nick!
Just awesome 👌 👏
🙂💕👋🏼🐈⬛
@@sharlenegentle2607 💖🤣😘👋
Have you heard his 1979 (??) version of Bridge Over Troubled Water. ❤
Thank you as always you are entertaining as well. Love the way you analyse 🎉
Looking at this video and his vocal RANGE, I would think mid 1970’s maybe even earlier. lol
Just love this reaction Nick ❤❤
Just awesome Xx
Imagine if he sang this with Renee Geyer.!!
You have made the news over here. You will end up an honoury Aussie. Come on down.
Park the car Dominic we ain’t going nowhere.
Amazing!
Imagine him singing Black Dog livec😂❤🎉
....let me show you somethin real quick !!
🤣👍
I think that last high note was Bb... He's in soprano territory, lol!
I'd say mid 70,s going by the clothes.
TV awards called logies
That note was a G#5, sir...
That was a G5 earlier and A5 in the end and I think it was 1982
7:33 tingles ✨
Yeah you said it with vennessa amarossi !!! He don't need to belt to surprise us!!!
Whooo 🎶👏👏👏
Oh....that's one of mine. I forgot about this one. :):)
You need to do Ian Moss singing Georgia. The version from the Barking Spiders album is my favourite version by anyone.
Farnham runs rings around Moss vocally, but I appreciate that some voices just work better with some songs
@@rickandersen2284 Yeah, and the killer guitar solo in the middle is 💥 that John can't match
@@petercooney2597 but his band could
Not unless Mossy is his guitarist
Awesome ✌️🍷🖤💛❤️
Have you heard John sing Old MacDonald had a Farm?
Imagine going to a barbecue or a karaoke bar when in the audience you’ve got John Farnham Ian Moss Barnsey Paul Kelly Renée Gaia Wendy Stapleton Joe Camilleri Angry Anderson and Michael Bublé what was that sound like ha ha
"Are you insane " 😅😅😅.
OOOOPPSSS!!!!
I meant vocal STYLE, not range.
I haven't checked it, but maybe a G5 at the end there.. insane
It's Bb/G#...
It's like you said, he can n sing the phone book
definitely 70's not the 80's, his hair was longer in the eighties. Plus the video looks older too.
👍👍
👏🏻🙂
Listen to Jai Waetford's X factor audition. 🙏
At the end it's an A5...
Seems this was recorded about 2011.
Does anyone know what and where John is now
Hi I think you should have a look at Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa doing Nutbush and Beth singing at Buddy Guys Kennedy Center honours
Not sure how long it normally takes for a PayPal request but it’s been 2 months unfortunately 😔
The best singer ever. He can sing anything. Black dog is better than Plant.
Mate, you need to stop the love fest, give the bloke a ring and have a chat
Must say, I prefer Michael Bolton’s version.
oh dear
