Douma is one of the most misunderstood characters in all of fiction. Since there are people who are just listening to the haters or are refusing to face facts. He gets hate by ignorant people or people who lack critical reading skills. Or by people that are just haters who will always disagree with your point; even if you disprove their point for hating him by showing and explaining proof. Since at the end of the day, demons are Muzan’s slaves that are forced to act and think in a certain way. Douma is not an exception, he is just as much of a victim as the other demons. People hate him more(or only) because he is mentally ill; which I think makes them mental abelists.
I know he has a sad backstory but that does not make people mental abelist though he does does A LOT of other thing that can't be forgiven and that even Satan himself would be surprised.

This Douma reaction was so refreshing since it wasn’t all about hating Douma and it showed the tragedy of his backstory. Though I don’t sympathize with Gyokko because he murdered a child then stuffed the kid’s body in a jar which leads to the people getting revenge and killing him.
I forgot to mention that I loved how you did not focus on Douma’s fight with Shinobu, Kanao, and Inosuke because people usually focus only on that instead of the character and then have the characters reacting celebrated his death or just feel no sympathy for Douma. Which really makes me dislike the video. Like if you really going to make a video about the character, don’t make it all about hating the character instead of just actually making a reaction to the character.

Fun Fact: Douma keeping Kotoha alive for her beauty was a mistranslation. The real translation was that he liked her for her pure heart. I really hated the official translation because it made seem that Douma values looks over personality which is not true. When Douma says "心の綺麗な人", which in romaji is "kokoro no kirei a hito,” which means “a person with a pure heart.” Put that in the full sentence and it says “it feels pretty good when there’s someone with a pure heart by your side, right?”

I think people tend to forget that Muzan likes to recruit people who hit rock bottom. It makes them easier to manipulate and such. As we know Douma was recruited most likely for him just being truly sick in the head (he was mentally ill you can’t deny that) but what could have been the result of such cruel behavior is the fact his emotions could have numbed after hearing so many other issues. Also tiny little detail I have noticed is that as we all know Douma targets women. His mother brutally stabbed her husband for having affairs with women and then committed su!c!de. What if somewhere in Douma’s mind he had a small grudge towards women for being the reason he ended up an orphan without noticing? In other words he actually did care he just did not know and his actions became a result of such.

I think people tend to forget that Muzan likes to recruit people who hit rock bottom. It makes them easier to manipulate and such. As we know Douma was recruited most likely for him just being truly sick in the head (he was mentally ill you can’t deny that) but what could have been the result of such cruel behavior is the fact his emotions could have numbed after hearing so many other issues.
Also tiny little detail I have noticed is that as we all know Douma targets women. His mother brutally stabbed her husband for having affairs with women and then committed su!c!de. What if somewhere in Douma’s mind he had a small grudge towards women for being the reason he ended up an orphan without noticing?
In other words he actually did care he just did not know and his actions became a result of such.
