I quit Minoxidil, Finasteride and Ketoconazole and kept my hair. About every 2 years I have a 3-month routine that keeps me good for another 2 years; my research is currently focused on increasing that time interval as well as re growing my temples. I am a 62 year old man that began balding at 16 and was nearly completely bald by my mid-20s. I now have more hair than I had in early teens. It is possible!
I need to post my protocol in addition to the other videos I have posted. It will be another month as I’m still finishing new research on Insulin/Cortisol and early-onset balding. I will have 2 protocols
@@thatrebel7929 Cortisol is a big problem for me as well. There is a lot of research on it and mechanisms for hair loss. I work hard to reduce cortisol
I used to do minoxidil twice daily consistently for about a year and watched my hair thickness slowly come back. Then I weaned off it gradually throughout a year and noticed most of the gains were retained. After that I got complacent and stopped totally. After about half a year, I noticed that my hair wasn't as thick as before. Went back to using minoxidil every 2-3 days and it was good enough to bring back some coverage and thickness. After a couple of years I started incorporating dutasteride. Not only was my receding hairline halted, fine hair even started regrowing at the previously barren areas. Around half a year after that I started using stamp-type hair needlers with 0.7mm needle depth which was sufficiently deep to pierce the hair bulge while causing acceptably minimal pain and bleeding. The needling was a game changer. Fine hair started growing in between my matured hair. It's been over 3 years since I incorporated occasional scalp needling (just once every 4-6 weeks). I no longer use dutasteride and I use minoxidil around twice weekly. My hair thickness and density do not seem to be reducing thus far and is actually pretty good. It would appear that permanent reversal of hair thinning was achieved.
Maybe your hair follicles were not so dht sensitive to begin with... I got some friends in their late 30s, almost 40s and they have no signs of hair loss.... Some people are just not genetically affected by androgenic alopecia.
i use minoxidil for like 6 months now.. mair hair got a lot thicker and stronger, overall the density got better... some patchy areas even got darker again, but its not like that my old hair did come back... anyway, what i find really shocking, i didnt lose any hair for months... i can show, brush through my hair, there is not a single hair falling out again, thats mindblowing... i wish i could keep this :D i will soon hop on topical finasterid since im planning a hairstransplant this year..
I'm a man and I have lots of patchy areas in my head . And I'm stressed because of that. If I start using it will it helps to regrow my hair? Are you sure it's good ?
Cool how he broke it down really like the advice cause I knew a guy that was takin it orally an to see he went from shaving his head every two or three weeks to actually getting his hair cut by a Barber so I kno it works foreal with out a shadow of a doubt......
Thanks Doc. I'm in the very early stage of male pattern baldness. Bought a one year supply of Minoxidil and been using twice daily for one and a half months in. I was wondering how to stop using Minoxidil after I've achieved my desired results. Will follow your video instructions when the time comes 👍🏻
@@Kelpo_Ocupullus in the early phase of my 3rd month. What I noticed so far.. My hair has gotten stronger, denser, richer, shinier and no more shedding of hairs collected in my tub drain whenever I wash my hair twice a week. Hair still sheds normally but not as much as before treatment. Minoxidil is not the only method as I utilize other ways to supplement my progress. Derma stamp Micro needling twice a week after washing hair. DHT shampoo and conditioner with rosemary and biotin. Biotin complex vitamins with zinc and copper. Saw palmetto supplements and foods with gelatin. Use of scalp massager to regulate blood flow whenever applying Minoxidil. But all in all, I'm after new hair regrowth on top back of my head. From what I learned.. it will take 4 full months of consistent use before Minoxidil reaches full potent effect, so I'm half way there and only after that time, I should bear fruits of all the effort I'm putting through with daily discipline. (I stopped short of using finasteride because of side effects I've heard and wouldn't consider unless I've consulted with doctor)
don't do it. There's no research behind what he's saying, in fact what he's saying contradicts current studies. Stopping minoxidil regardless of the fact if you're taking finasteride or not will make you lose whatever you gained from minoxidil.
Well, I was using topical Minoxidil 5% once a day but broke my right arm and the application was difficult so I stopped completely for 3 months. Didn't notice any change at all. In fact my hair loss reduced significantly. The only thing I changed was taking protein supplements and vitamins to help heal the bone. Months later I restarted on Minoxidil but just because I was worried that the problem might come back. I also use liquid caffeine and essential oils. I won't even consider the possibility of taking systemic medication. My father in law had finasteride for an enlarged prostate and ended up with a bad case of osteoporosis. I prefer to lose my hair to my bones.
@@gavinr9107 That's what my father in law was told by his doctor. That finasteride caused the osteoporosis he was suffering from. Although studies seem to show contradictory results. I know I wouldn't take it, but it's up to people to take their own decisions.
@@MariaDiazskn Regardless, that is the word of one doctor, and the results are inconclusive you conduct your own reasearh. Also - was your father on Dutasteride or Finasteride, and the dosage? This needs to be taken into consideration. If your father was taking a high dose due to prostate issues then it is entirely different due to the fractional dose a man requires to stop hair loss. Seeing as your a woman and you do not experience male pattern baldness and the psychological effect it has one on men - whether you would take it or not is not really relevant. Check out the channel 'Haircafe' if you would like additional insight.
This video is great. I am a girl and i lost hair because of vitamin d deficiency and stress. Been treating it by taking vitamin d3 and using topical minoxidil 2% twice a day for about 6 months. My vitamin d levels have gotten back to normal and so far, I've see new regrowth but I've been so scared of stopping minoxidil because all of the horror stories I've heard. So, what i gather from this is that as long as i keep my vitamin d at a normal level i can start the process of stopping minoxidle?
Even if we ween off of the minoxidil slowly, wouldn’t we be losing all the gained hair eventually? Because they have a life cycle… I’m not sure if I understand this video very well :(
Never thought I’d be searching ways to get a thicker hairline because all my life I’ve never had the issue. My dad is 56 and has a small forehead with thick hair (also no grey) and his dad is 86 who went grey at 30 and has an even thicker hairline. Mine isn’t bad but I’ve definitely seen changes over the past year.
I’m 4 months postpartum. Was using minoxidil until September of 2023 when I got pregnant. Kept my twice dose week dose gains throughout my pregnancy after stopping cold turkey. Just now losing my edges after having my daughter
This was very helpful . Questions: long so I can understand lol 1. so because it is increasing blood flow that’s why new hair growth is possible… When you come off … IF you lose hair , you’re losing the “NEW” growth… but you won’t be shedding the hair that has been growing naturally. But… because it’s extending the the growing stages ( keeping hair from shedding naturally) you may see lose that is just the hair that should have shredded naturally … ?? 2. If it’s is stimulating new follicles … why would the “NEW” hair fall out when coming off? Isn’t it already established hat it is growing … and coming off will not promote FURTHER growth of new hair ? Or are those new hairs dependent on the meds because the follicle needs that boost in order to grow hair ? 3. Can it grow hair where there has never been hair? Example: eyebrows? Hairline? That never has had hair before? Or does there need to be a folicle that has once grown a hair but is weak or whatever? 4. To confirm: will this med affect old growth at all? I have a lot of thick hair but just want to increase in areas … Getting more hair is a bonus but do not want to mess with the hair I already grow naturally and is heathy Thank uou… sorry that was a lot of run on sentences
@@AmanChoidhary-nn2iw I feel like instructions are simple … but I have very specific questions that I need to know before I try. Not getting the answers I am looking for no matter the amount of research I do 😞
@@Ccinc6o k I don't get your 1st ques.like are u talking about stopping minoxidil will lose hair or if there is hairloss... you won't loose new hair but the telogen phase increases which leads to more shedding and I was told by someone that if you don't have hairloss then please don't start it until and unless you loss the confidence or you see bald patches after hair loss
My question is that when you state “when you stop taking the drug you will dump hair” so are you losing the new hair that you grew? Or are you losing all the hair on your head, the hair you weren’t losing before you even started the drug
Your hair will go back to how it would be without using minoxidil. You will not lose more hair than you naturally would that is a myth (but if your underlying male pattren baldness has progressed it will be like you never took minoxidil so worse than you remember which is why people take finasteride with it). If you're one of the lucky fews you could keep some of the new hair you grew but you won't know that for many months into quitting.
I was on minoxidil for about 3 or 4 months twice a day. Quit cold turkey. Now I'm losing far more hair than I had when I started. Not just losing the gains. What can I do about this? I have well water with high iron and I started taking a daily for men, D3, snd biotin supplement. This week I just started trying out Mielle which has helped with inflammation and irritation. I quit minoxidil in February. Wondering if what I had prior to minoxidil will return? I've also been under a lot of work stress in the last 6 months. Thank you for any input. By the way, I'm a 59-year-old male.
Watch PerfectHairHealth's videos on Minoxodil and he explains that minoxodil follicles are different from non-minoxodil follicles, so it take time for the non-minox hair to come back. Not sure if your age is also playing into it. He recommends sticking with a treatment for 2 years (at very least 6 months) before comparing results btw.
I’ll give you the honest truth that no one else will. Assuming you’re still losing your hair, the only thing you can do at this point is start using minoxidil again. The hair you gain from minoxidil will be dependent on the drug, meaning if you stop using it that hair will fall out. However this doesn’t just apply to the hair you gain. Your existing hair can (and eventually will) become dependent on the drug so you are essentially stuck using it unless you want your hair to thin out and shed. It doesn’t matter if you slowly wein off the drug or quit cold turkey, it will still happen. Some recover from the thinning months after but for those who are susceptible to AGA, the minoxidil will essentially speed up the MPB process. Just wanted to give you the honest truth, there is a lot of misinformation and gaslighting when it comes to this drug. All the best
Thank you i wish i knew this sooner , last year i was using minoxidil for like 6 months i saw good resaults so i quit using minoxidil then then my hair went just like before i lost all my progress and i kinda lost faith in it cuz i thoutht its temporal and not everlasting , thats until i saw your video , i will use it again thanks to you

I tried to ween off of the minoxidil while still taking the pill form DHT Blocker Minoxidil. I noticed clunks of hair coming out of my left side. I definitely don’t recommend weening, or stopping. Stick with the system that Dr G has in place. It really does works. At some point I’m going to start posting my pictures of my own results. My hair is past my shoulders and nearly at my mid back, my goal when I started this project was to get the things that guys in Jamaica wear. I showed up for a consultation, and the lady asked me was I mixed, I said no, she said are you sure? So I said my grandmother is white, and my mom is mixed, and she said your would be difficult because it’s straight/way! I said to her I see white people with dreadlocks! She said it would really hard because your hair is silky, so I understood her when said silky, no one wants to braid my hair, it’s that difficult. I can’t even greasy products that black folks use. I remember as I child, shopping in the grocery store with my grandmother, I would grad hair products for black people, my grandmother would laugh. She would grab Wella Bossom shampoo 🧴 and conditioner as backup. Grandmothers know best. The products for black folks would sit in the bathroom cabinet all summer long until my cousins would visit.
62 year old female started because I was getting male pattern baldness mostly on one side. I put it on once to twice a day for a year and it barely grew any hair back. Then my scalp started turning red so I weaned myself off, but then started up again since I had an entire box with five bottles and then my head started itching where I was putting it.
I had ordered 3 brands of minoxidil. In one case, what I received was NOT the brand that I had actually ordered. Anyhow, I put them to the minoxidil test by applying several drops on a sheet of glass (My old computer tablet). I then allowed them dry to then expose the white powder of the minoxidil itself. One 5% minoxidil successfully showed plenty of the white residue. The second, not so much, as if it was actually 2% rather than the 5% promised. And the third, which was the one where what I received was from a different manufacturer than what I had ordered, and it showed no minoxidil residue at all. What a coincidence.

Hey there! You can't take minoxidil orally as it’s a vasodilator which tends to cause falling of your blood pressure level and you may grow hairs in unnecessary body parts. Before it’s innovation as hair treatment, minoxidil oral supplement were given to the hypertensive patient and they noticed the growth of excess body hair.Afterwards, this side effects would gone after withdrawing the medication. Scientists ultimately turn this effects into blessing when they came up it with a topical formulation. So dear, you can't take minoxidil orally.. Thank you❤
What’s your opinion on 5% Redensyl for DHT and nutritional loss? And does topical melatonin absorb transdermally and cause drowsiness? Just 300mcg of melatonin taken orally is enough to put you to sleep. Also, how does one supplement ferritin just above 70ng/mL without jacking their iron levels too high?
I been using finesterdie and mioxdile once per day and am only been applying minoxdile just front of hair not all over the head my hair has become very thick and all my hair has come back
How long did you followed this method? Cause I am using it 50 days approx but still I have 10-15 hairfall during cleansing of hair with shampoo 😢 Would I get good results after 90 days? Cause every doc saying the same that this treatment will bes successful in between 3 to 6 months
in last month lower the dosage from 2ml/day to 1ml/day. This will decrease chances of rollback. But make sure your cycle is at least 9 month or better whole 12. Don't be afraid of quitting minox. This guy make it look scary but in reality even if there's rollback, you can't lose what you had before cycle. Sometimes people are losing 20-30% of what they gained after quitting but it's usually depends on 2 factors. 1st is minoxidil tolerance and 2nd - short cycle(people who saw good results after 3 month and quit too early, so the new hair they got didn't had time enough to develop, therefore it fell off after they quit). That's why proper cycle is MUST! If you ain't going to do it for 9-12 month- don't even bother trying.
@@liquidfootballonline I'd rather do longer cycle. You gotta understand that if your new grown hair didn't fully develop till the moment you decide to stop- there's chance it might fall off. If you do cycle of 9-12 month, 90-95% of your grown hair are developed to final stage till that point and you are good to go. You can do 11 month if it's about price, but just lower the dosage to 1ml a day in last month. Don't stop minoxidil before that period of at least 9 or even better 10 month. Best to do full cycle and keep your hair, than making mistake lot of people do, which is doing it for 4-6 month, seeing results and deciding that there's no reason to keep taking it cause head is full already. Even if they aren't growing more, it's still MUST! to develop them to final stage, otherwise all those which didn't fully develop- will fall off. Trust me, majority of people who did minoxidil and stopped before reaching full cycle- lost their results because they quit too early, before hair developed fully. Visually hair is there but there's still question of it''s structure inside.
@@liquidfootballonline Also keep in mind that If the reason of hair los is due to hormones(increased DHT)- when you quit minoxidil, those hormones will push hair out if you stop taking it. In previous comment on this video, author replied to my comment where he agreed with me and said that it's correct. Here is his reply: Thanks for sharing your experience! You're spot-on about the different causes of hair loss and how they can affect the results you get with Minoxidil. Minoxidil works by extending the growth phase of hair follicles, so if your hair loss is due to something temporary like stress, it can be very effective in helping you regrow and maintain that hair. Gradually tapering off the dose, like you did, can help ease your scalp off the treatment without shocking the system, especially when stress or non-hormonal factors were the cause. However, if your hair loss is due to increased DHT, Minoxidil alone might not be enough long-term, because the underlying hormone issue is still there. In such cases, combining Minoxidil with a DHT blocker or addressing the hormonal imbalance might give more lasting results.
@@liquidfootballonline heh, wrote 2 comments before and both were deleted. Back to your question. don't listen to people saying something that it only for 6month and after 6 month , it will stop working. In reality all the best results will appear after 9+ month. Propper cycle should be between 9 to 12 month, no less. If you do less, there's chance that your hair you gained won't be fully developed and it will 100% fall off after you quit minox. Hair should fully develop, therefore go for a full 12 month cycle to make sure you'll save what you've gained.
Thank you. What if a person doesn’t know and cannot know the real reason for their hair loss? Mine may be because of stress but there’s many other reasons and a lot of them cannot be changed unfortunately.
I used Minoxidil for 6 months, and grew 2 years of hair loss back. I stopped using it for over a week, and starting losing my hair again. Once I got back on Minoxidil 2x daily, my hair instantly grew back. So far so good after 1 year of use. With that being said, are there any long term side effects using Minoxidil twice daily? The only occasional symptoms I get are headaches. Also, what do you think about Ketoconazole shampoo? Thanks for all you do for us. You have great products too!
Thank you for that information. No there's no long term side effects with minoxidil. Problem is usually overtime it becomes less effective predominantly because most people do not block the underlying reason for the loss. As you've handled any dht or vitamin D3 that may be a problem then it should hold up pretty good long term. I am not a fan of ketoconazole shampoo unless there is a reason for it. Ketoconazole is an antifungal and it does seem to have an anti-inflammatory impact on the scalp temporarily but it does not do anything for dht. Therei is there some data out there that says that it supports the reduction of inflammation caused by aga but in my opinion you are coming at that situation from the exact wrong area and it may actually cause more problems than it prevents
use PRP serum topically twice a month wether your face or hairs you will see magicall results wrinkle free less dark heads face and thicker fuller shiny and no hairfall on your head and it has no side effects
Has anyone here benefited from using Minoxidil? I'm 20 years old and started using Minoxidil alone for the first month, then combined it with Finasteride. It's been over 1.5 months and I'm experiencing excessive hair loss, making my scalp more visible.. Is it normal..? Can I get the result..?
Yes, what you’re experiencing is **totally normal** during the first few months of using minoxidil! Many people go through this “shedding phase” when they start using minoxidil, especially when combined with finasteride. Here’s what’s happening and why you shouldn’t worry: ### Why Shedding Happens: ✨ **Minoxidil** works by pushing your hair follicles into the active growth phase (*anagen phase*), which means it’s forcing older, weaker hairs to shed to make room for new, stronger ones. This can cause an increase in hair loss during the first **2-3 months** of treatment, and that’s why your scalp might look more visible at the moment. ✨ **Finasteride** also works by blocking DHT, which helps protect hair follicles from shrinking. This doesn’t directly cause shedding, but when combined with minoxidil, the hair loss can feel more pronounced initially. ### What to Expect: - **Shedding is temporary**: This excessive hair loss should taper off as your hair follicles adjust to the treatment. It’s common for this phase to last around 2-3 months before you start seeing new, healthier growth. - **Results take time**: Consistent use of both minoxidil and finasteride should start showing results around the **3 to 6-month** mark. Many people start seeing thicker regrowth, and your hair density should improve by then. ### What You Should Do: - **Stick with it**: It’s crucial to stay consistent with both minoxidil and finasteride, as stopping early can lead to more shedding without giving your hair a chance to regrow. - **Patience is key**: Hair growth is a slow process, but as long as you keep using both treatments as prescribed, your chances of success are good. Most people see the best results after **6 to 12 months**. If you’re still concerned about the shedding or if it’s getting worse, it’s always a good idea to check in with your doctor or dermatologist to ensure everything’s on track. 😊 ➡️ Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/ for more personalized advice on using minoxidil and finasteride!
I’ve been on minoxidil for 4 years now. I’ve stopped using it for 3 days and I’m gonna try to quit it permanently. Reason: I am someone who struggles with making important decisions and sometimes even simple decisions like buying new clothes, So I do a toss and decide. It’s stupid but I never second guess my toss and go with that decision. My toss says for me to quit minoxidil 10 times in a row and im sticking with it 😢💀
Deciding to quit minoxidil, especially after using it for several years, is a significant decision that can affect your hair health. Minoxidil works by prolonging the growth phase of hair follicles, so stopping its use may lead to a reversal of these effects. Here are some things to consider: Gradual Tapering: Instead of stopping abruptly, consider tapering off to give your scalp time to adjust and potentially reduce any shedding. Alternative Treatments: Look into other hair growth treatments such as finasteride (for men), low-level laser therapy, or natural supplements like saw palmetto and biotin. Lifestyle Factors: Ensure you maintain a healthy diet, manage stress, and get enough sleep, as these factors significantly affect hair health. Consult a Professional: Speak with a trichologist or dermatologist before making a final decision. They can offer personalized advice and possibly suggest alternative treatments. It's essential to listen to your body and consider both the short-term and long-term effects of stopping minoxidil. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/

I would not do it. It is too risky. Once I used 15% minoxidil in my temples and after I returned back to 5% minoxidil, there remained barely any hair left.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist When you take it relatively, it does not matter much. People experienced sudden telogen effluvium after quitting 5% minoxidil.

Thanks for sharing your experience! 👏 After long-term use, some people feel like minoxidil’s effects plateau, which might be why you didn’t notice much extra shedding after stopping. Exercise is definitely a great way to boost **overall blood circulation**, which includes the scalp, and it can contribute to a healthier environment for hair follicles! 🏋️♂️ Cardio exercises, like running or cycling, increase blood flow throughout the body, and some studies suggest that improved circulation can support nutrient delivery to hair follicles, keeping them healthy and potentially slowing hair thinning. However, while exercise is beneficial for general scalp health, it’s often not enough on its own to reverse hair loss, especially if you’re dealing with **androgenetic alopecia** (genetic hair loss) or other types of hair loss where the issue is more complex than blood flow alone. Treatments like **minoxidil**, **finasteride**, **PRP**, or **microneedling** specifically target hair regrowth pathways and are often more effective when used alongside a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise. So yes, keep up the exercise! It’s great for your body, and every little bit helps your hair. 🌱➡️ If you’re interested in a more comprehensive plan, reach out to us at [www.advancedtrichology.com/](www.advancedtrichology.com/) for guidance on combining lifestyle and targeted treatments.

Yes but there would almost be definitive decline and overall volume over time since genetically, the beard growth would be the determining factor of its original volume. I would say there's at least a 50% chance that the vast majority of the new created during the use of minoxidil would remain though if the minoxidil use was greater than 12 to 18 months
I have used Minoxidil with Finasteride foam for 3 months everyday and after I have basically reduced it gradually, during another 6 weeks. I have noticed just a small amount of hair fallen off, same as radically always. I think I did well enough, right? I have used that foam just to prevent any further hair loss, my hair being already rare since 2018. Hopefully it helped.
@dharshan6813 Seems even worse than last year, but hopefully it's just seeming so. Definitely, in many cases like mine, it doesn't worth at all taking Minoxidil and Finasteride. Comparing to 2017-2018 when my hair got a lot rarer, on videos it seems that since then I have actually lost even more hair and since last year I might have lost substantially more hair than in last years. Back then I was barely starting to do some driving videos with an action camera on the drivers side behind and above me, and after so many years only recently I did another video from that angle. The difference is pretty big and disappointing, despite that my hairline is the same as always. My hair is also significantly curly and maybe this helps to realise even better the significant enough loss over time, sitting worse and worse. To be honest since always I was not pleased enough of the way it sits, despite looking pretty good before 2017-2018. Now, despite being just not too rare (yet), it sits worse and worse year by year, looking good enough only when it's short enough, 2-3 mm maximum. I look more and more like a Boomer paiseant, pretty similar to the haircut of a funny photoshopped picture of Yoda, looking very similar to a step uncle of mine. Thankfully my head looks good enough bald, but I'm chubby. Maybe I should stay bald for not just 1 month and get used with it, to realise better how it looks. Now definitely I might look much better bald or very short trimmed, 1 mm, almost bald. Yet the real problem is that I might not attract anybody if I go this way. The social component is the worst, bald look is underrated.
Hello doc. I've been using minoxidil 2% twice daily for 10 months and i decided to wean off of it by using it once daily. After two months of doing that, I've noticed more increased shedding in the shower. It is not crazy shedding but it's definitely more than last month. I dont have androgenic alopecia and my underlying issue has been resolved. Should i be concerned?
@alisina8770 hey. As far as I know I don't think I have genetic hair loss. I have TE. There is still shedding in the shower only but it's not that bad. It looks alot but I compared to people who don't have hairloss it's the same. I feel like my hair went back to normal shedding. I used to shed alot as a little girl because my hair was curly.
I have an important question (suggestion) for you since you have been researching on hair ! Ok the donor is a problem because it’s limited ! But why are people not exploiting the capability of synthetic hair transplant? I mean yes the body rejects the foreign particle implanted but why don’t you work on a method in which the synthetic hair is accepted by the body!?🤔
That's a really interesting question, and you're absolutely right-**synthetic hair transplants** (sometimes called **biofiber hair implants**) are a potential option for people with limited donor areas. However, there are challenges, mainly because the body often rejects these synthetic fibers as foreign objects, leading to infections, inflammation, or the need to remove the implants. The idea of **developing a synthetic hair that the body accepts** without rejection is a fantastic concept, and there has been some research on making the fibers more biocompatible. Here are a few things that researchers are exploring to overcome this issue: 🌟 **Biocompatible materials**: Scientists are looking into materials that mimic the body's natural tissues to reduce rejection. These could be **bioinert** or **biodegradable** materials that are less likely to trigger an immune response. 🧬 **Coating or modification**: Some methods involve coating synthetic fibers with materials that trick the body into thinking they’re natural, reducing rejection and inflammation. 💡 **Stem cell integration**: Another potential route in the future might be combining synthetic fibers with **stem cell therapy** or growth factors that promote natural hair growth alongside the synthetic implants. The main challenge has been making these fibers durable while also making them "blend" with the body’s immune system. But you're onto something big! If more research goes into this, the future of synthetic hair transplants could be really promising, especially for people with limited donor hair. Thanks for the thought-provoking question! 🔬✨ ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist thank you for the answer! This was exactly what I was looking for, delighted to know that things are being worked upon in this direction ✨and yes I agree making the implants durable, accepting them by the body and most importantly cost effective will be a challenge ! Can your nutra m serum be considered another option instead of minoxidil? They say minoxidl works by increasing blood circulation which is BS because you can take numerous vasodilators that are even more potent than minoxidl without hair growth benefits. Looking for an alternative to using minoxidil.
@@Wayneferreiro feel like the only topical would be a form of niacin which is what his serum has that increases the blood circulation in the scalp, which does help but that’s not really even how minoxidil works 100% it lengthens the anagen phase of the hair. Male pattern baldness isn't due to some sort of vitamin deficiency, not stress, diet or fucking hats. It's genetic, even the healthiest people can go bald and there's many homeless drug addicts in their 50s and 60s with great heads of hair...it's genetics. If you're having hair thinning due to a vitamin deficiency or something, it's much less common than Male pattern baldness, much different and easier to treat.
Yes, you can use Minoxidil with hair oils, but it’s important to do it in the right way! Here’s how you can make them work together: 1️⃣ Timing Matters: Apply Minoxidil first and let it fully absorb into your scalp (usually takes about 2-4 hours). After that, you can apply your favorite hair oil. This ensures the Minoxidil has time to penetrate and do its job without getting diluted or blocked by the oil. 2️⃣ Light Oils Only: If you prefer to apply oil before Minoxidil, make sure to use a light, non-greasy oil that won’t create a barrier on your scalp. This can help keep the scalp moisturized without interfering too much with absorption. Just be consistent with your routine and monitor how your scalp and hair respond. If you notice any irritation or increased hair shedding, you might need to adjust your approach. 🌿 Mixing both can actually be beneficial, as Minoxidil helps with hair growth, and oils can nourish your scalp and hair. Just make sure the Minoxidil has time to do its thing! ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
What about other doctors saying that it's active for 18 hours a day therefore you only need it once day. Also can you take oral finasteride and oral minoxidil daily?
Hello Doctor, first of all thank you for your great efforts on composing amazing videos. Would be great if you can help me with this question. I am in the stage 4 to 5 of hair loss, and am doing every possible remedies like diet, massage, exercise, mineral supplements EXCEPT applying MINOXIDIL. This has benefitted me in term of stop shedding & regrowth of some new baby hairs. However, my hairs are still thin on crown & baby hairs are trying their best to grow, but I can't see much growth. Can I somehow grow my hairs thicker without using minoxidil ?
Minoxidil, when applied topically for hair growth, is generally localized to the scalp, meaning it's absorbed primarily in that area. However, there’s some concern about potential side effects for glaucoma patients, as systemic absorption of even small amounts could theoretically affect blood pressure or lead to changes in eye pressure in very rare cases. For those with glaucoma, it's best to use minoxidil under the supervision of your healthcare provider, as they can monitor for any potential effects on intraocular pressure. 👀 Your eye health and safety come first! Yes, minoxidil is sometimes used off-label to promote beard growth. Many people have reported positive results, but there are some considerations: Effectiveness: Minoxidil can help stimulate hair follicles, potentially leading to thicker and fuller facial hair. However, results can vary, and it may take several months to see noticeable changes. Application: Apply a small amount of minoxidil to the desired areas of your beard, usually twice daily. Ensure the area is clean and dry before application. Side Effects: Potential side effects include skin irritation, dryness, and in rare cases, unwanted hair growth in nearby areas. Some people may also experience a temporary increase in hair shedding. Consistency: Continuous use is necessary to maintain results. If you stop using minoxidil, any new hair growth may eventually revert to its original state. Consultation: It's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider before starting minoxidil, especially for off-label use like beard growth, to ensure it's safe for you. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
Is this effect noted in your patients? Almost every person on the internet says that regrowth needs to be maintained with minoxidil. However that makes no sense to me, since beard gains are permanent post minoxidil use. It would make sense that with a dht blocker, regrowth on the scalp would be maintained post discontinuation of minoxidil.
You’ve touched on an important point about the difference between scalp hair regrowth and beard growth when using minoxidil. Here's a breakdown of the key factors involved: Scalp Hair Regrowth and Minoxidil Mechanism: Minoxidil works by prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of hair follicles on the scalp, which helps in regrowing and thickening hair. Maintenance: For scalp hair, the consensus is that the benefits of minoxidil are largely maintenance-dependent. This means that if you stop using minoxidil, the hair that was maintained or regrown due to its use may eventually revert to its previous state because the underlying cause of hair loss (like androgenic alopecia) hasn’t been addressed. DHT Blockers: When combined with a DHT blocker (like finasteride or other treatments), you can slow down or prevent further hair loss caused by DHT. However, DHT blockers typically prevent further loss rather than maintaining regrowth achieved by minoxidil. Thus, many people find that stopping minoxidil leads to the gradual loss of the hair it helped regrow. Beard Growth and Minoxidil Permanent Gains: Minoxidil used for beard growth can lead to more permanent gains because beard follicles are not typically affected by DHT in the same way scalp follicles are. Once the beard hairs have matured, they usually stay even after discontinuing minoxidil. In Our Patients Observed Effects: In practice, most patients who discontinue minoxidil after achieving scalp hair regrowth often experience a gradual return to their pre-treatment state unless they continue with other treatments, like DHT blockers or laser therapy. DHT Blocker Use: While DHT blockers help to prevent further hair loss, they don’t typically maintain the regrowth that minoxidil promotes. To retain the hair gained with minoxidil, ongoing use is generally recommended. Why the Difference? Hair Type and Follicle Sensitivity: Scalp hair follicles, especially those affected by androgenic alopecia, are more sensitive to DHT and require continuous stimulation (like from minoxidil) to maintain their growth. Beard follicles, on the other hand, are less influenced by DHT and more likely to retain their growth after initial stimulation. While combining minoxidil with a DHT blocker is an effective strategy to combat hair loss and encourage regrowth, the regrowth achieved with minoxidil on the scalp generally requires ongoing use to be maintained. ➡️Reach out to us at www.advancedtrichology.com/
I'm currently 1 month into 5% minoxidil (twice daily), and expect to remain on it for over a year. Should I expect side effects on the top of my head when I decide to wean off of it? Application is currently only to the face

@@talhakhan842 I havent used on my head but for facial hair. Didnt make it thin. But saw more baby hairs that were thin. Assuming you use it on a bald spot and made those hair come in like baby thin hairs then yes normal. Take a few stages to reach normal thick hairs. About 7-8 months or longer. Keep using and use a full mill. I used about a full mill per cheek and had great results. Use a full mill on head about the size of cheek. Careful about side effects when using a lot. Try a little more or little less. If side effects show. Then use less.
@@talhakhan842 I use liquid currently but foam has less side effects and requires less half a cap full but i wouldnt put it in cap. Wastes some of the product.
Yeah, it sounds like you're having a contact dermatitis to something. Propylene glycol is a very common irritant that's in minoxidil. I've only seen a handful of true, minoxidil allergies, but you'll know if you have an minoxidil issue because of the very dark circles under your eyes and very definitive swelling.
Using minoxidil for beard enhancement is a common off-label use, and many have seen positive results. However, the dynamics of minoxidil on beard growth are similar to its effects on scalp hair. Initially, minoxidil works by stimulating hair follicles, increasing blood flow, and potentially transitioning hairs into a more active growth phase. This can lead to thicker, fuller beard hair over time. If you decide to stop using minoxidil on your beard, you may experience shedding or loss of the hair gained during treatment. This is because the hairs that grew in response to minoxidil may not be able to sustain their growth without the continued stimulation from the product. It's important to understand that minoxidil doesn't cure the underlying cause of hair thinning; it only offers a temporary solution by stimulating hair growth as long as you're using it. To minimize hair loss when stopping minoxidil, a gradual weaning process is recommended, similar to the scalp hair approach. However, specific research or guidelines for tapering off minoxidil for beard use are limited, so applying the same principles as for scalp hair may be a practical approach. Consider reducing the frequency of application over several months, monitoring your beard's response. For personalized advice, especially if you're considering starting or stopping minoxidil for beard growth, consulting with a healthcare professional or a dermatologist is wise. They can offer guidance tailored to your specific situation and help you navigate the process with minimal impact on the gains you've achieved. For female DHT-related hair loss, there are a few great alternatives to Minoxidil that you might consider: 1. **Spironolactone**: A popular prescription option for women. It helps block DHT, which can slow hair thinning. 2. **Saw Palmetto**: A natural DHT blocker found in supplements that some women use to manage hair loss. 3. **Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)**: Devices like laser caps or combs that promote hair regrowth by stimulating follicles. 4. **Topical Anti-Androgens**: Shampoos or scalp treatments containing ketoconazole may help reduce DHT on the scalp.

Or does there need to be a folicle that has once grown a hair but is weak or whatever?

Your hair will go back to how it would be without using minoxidil. You will not lose more hair than you naturally would that is a myth (but if your underlying male pattren baldness has progressed it will be like you never took minoxidil so worse than you remember which is why people take finasteride with it). If you're one of the lucky fews you could keep some of the new hair you grew but you won't know that for many months into quitting.

This here is real, speaking from experience! I couldn't do it no more, by the way it was topical

What are the precautions we should take after stopping minoxidil to keep hair safe
in last month lower the dosage from 2ml/day to 1ml/day.
@@anonymousfx5254 do I need to wean off over 9 months like the doc said or can I do it in less time?
Here is his reply:
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Alternative for it? Yes use rosemary oil with onion oil
I used ketoconozale shampoo for seb dermatitis and it worked for many years but now just makes my scalp horrendously itchy and flaky.
Bro getting headaches from.mino is not okay. Are you using topical or oral?
Will hair loss worsen if you take it and stop? OR will it continue at the same rate as prior?

Has anyone here benefited from using Minoxidil? I'm 20 years old and started using Minoxidil alone for the first month, then combined it with Finasteride. It's been over 1.5 months and I'm experiencing excessive hair loss, making my scalp more visible..
Is it normal..?
Can I get the result..?
Yes, what you’re experiencing is **totally normal** during the first few months of using minoxidil! Many people go through this “shedding phase” when they start using minoxidil, especially when combined with finasteride. Here’s what’s happening and why you shouldn’t worry:
### Why Shedding Happens:
✨ **Minoxidil** works by pushing your hair follicles into the active growth phase (*anagen phase*), which means it’s forcing older, weaker hairs to shed to make room for new, stronger ones.
### What to Expect:
- **Shedding is temporary**: This excessive hair loss should taper off as your hair follicles adjust to the treatment.
### What You Should Do:
- **Stick with it**: It’s crucial to stay consistent with both minoxidil and finasteride, as stopping early can lead to more shedding without giving your hair a chance to regrow.

Here are some things to consider:
Gradual Tapering: Instead of stopping abruptly, consider tapering off to give your scalp time to adjust and potentially reduce any shedding.

15% is very high and I'm making reference in this video to 5%

If it’s blood flow to the hair follicle that we’re after, what about exercise? Would that regrow your hair?

Hello , this steps could be done also for beard growth ? Hope u answer
How's your hair condition now?
The same process has to be done even for rosmarin oil?
No
Rosemary oil is a scam bro dont even use it 🤣

Here are a few things that researchers are exploring to overcome this issue:
🌟 **Biocompatible materials**: Scientists are looking into materials that mimic the body's natural tissues to reduce rejection.

Looking for an alternative to using minoxidil.
i am hesitating to take it but when you say that you have no results, i am so surprised
@@Wayneferreiro feel like the only topical would be a form of niacin which is what his serum has that increases the blood circulation in the scalp, which does help but that’s not really even how minoxidil works 100% it lengthens the anagen phase of the hair. People still don’t even know why it actually even works, peppermint oil is another strong vasodilator when applied topically. I have tried it for well over a year, and I haven’t really seen anything substantial If any at all to be honest. I finally said F it and just started using minoxidil. Figure if I have to keep using it whatever, I already have to keep using everything else to keep my hair anyway what’s the difference lol. I’m just hoping Scube 3 is available soon, that’s what I’m looking forward too. Who knows if big pharma will even allow it, too much money for them to lose. You can find a cure for cancer too, just will cost you your life lol
How do I know which vitamin or mineral I'm lacking in the diet that lead to hair loss
Sir, plz?
Male pattern baldness isn't due to some sort of vitamin deficiency, not stress, diet or fucking hats. It's genetic, even the healthiest people can go bald and there's many homeless drug addicts in their 50s and 60s with great heads of hair...it's genetics. If you're having hair thinning due to a vitamin deficiency or something, it's much less common than Male pattern baldness, much different and easier to treat.

Can we use Minoxidil with hair oils?
Yes, you can use Minoxidil with hair oils, but it’s important to do it in the right way! Here’s how you can make them work together:
1️⃣ Timing Matters: Apply Minoxidil first and let it fully absorb into your scalp (usually takes about 2-4 hours).

@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist thank you sir for your advice 🙏
Hi doctor bro using fermented rice water for hair wash give any good results for our hair please reply dr bro thank you take care stay happy
Sir , Does applying minoxidil cause increase in eye pressure for GLUCOMA patients ?
Minoxidil, when applied topically for hair growth, is generally localized to the scalp, meaning it's absorbed primarily in that area. However, there’s some concern about potential side effects for glaucoma patients, as systemic absorption of even small amounts could theoretically affect blood pressure or lead to changes in eye pressure in very rare cases. For those with glaucoma, it's best to use minoxidil under the supervision of your healthcare provider, as they can monitor for any potential effects on intraocular pressure. 👀
Your eye health and safety come first! If you have concerns, I recommend discussing this with both your eye specialist and trichologist to tailor a safe approach for you.

Can I use minoxidil for facial beard growth?
Yes, minoxidil is sometimes used off-label to promote beard growth. Many people have reported positive results, but there are some considerations:
Effectiveness: Minoxidil can help stimulate hair follicles, potentially leading to thicker and fuller facial hair.

Here's a breakdown of the key factors involved:
Scalp Hair Regrowth and Minoxidil
Mechanism: Minoxidil works by prolonging the anagen (growth) phase of hair follicles on the scalp, which helps in regrowing and thickening hair.
Beard Growth and Minoxidil
Permanent Gains: Minoxidil used for beard growth can lead to more permanent gains because beard follicles are not typically affected by DHT in the same way scalp follicles are. Once the beard hairs have matured, they usually stay even after discontinuing minoxidil.
In Our Patients
Observed Effects: In practice, most patients who discontinue minoxidil after achieving scalp hair regrowth often experience a gradual return to their pre-treatment state unless they continue with other treatments, like DHT blockers or laser therapy.

Doc, did you use minoxidil?
Are there side effects from using Minoxidil?
I'm currently 1 month into 5% minoxidil (twice daily), and expect to remain on it for over a year. Should I expect side effects on the top of my head when I decide to wean off of it? Application is currently only to the face
Bro u still using manoxidil or you quite it?
Is minoxidil stops inflammatory or nutritional hair loss? Im in the second month of using minoxidil and facing a lot of hair loss than before. Is that normal?
Yeah keep using. Probably just shedding. Reevaluate after about 6-7 months.
Minox will make you shed weaker hairs before growing thicker hair sometimes
@@wellutopia2237 Minoxidil makes my hair thin. Is that also normal?
What if the underlying reason is Short Anagen Syndrome that you've had since birth? What can you do then to block the underlying reason?
I've been using minoxidil for 6 months, i got forehead wrinkles and dark circles, my nose also looks swollen has anyone faced these problems?
Yeah, it sounds like you're having a contact dermatitis to something. Propylene glycol is a very common irritant that's in minoxidil. I've only seen a handful of true, minoxidil allergies, but you'll know if you have an minoxidil issue because of the very dark circles under your eyes and very definitive swelling.
What happen u continue using it or u stopped using it ??
What about if I have no hair loss, I’m just using minoxidil to get a better beard? Will the beard hair then fall if I stop using it?

What alternatives do you suggest for female dht related hair loss?
For female DHT-related hair loss, there are a few great alternatives to Minoxidil that you might consider:
It’s always a good idea to consult with a trichologist or dermatologist to find what works best for you! 😊
