+referral madness You won't get anywhere. Do you seriously think sega will be able to do that in the state that they're in right now. It would make more sense for them to just make a new super monkey ball game or some GOOD games for once.
+Kart On Fire! Hey guys, how about a collection of the Sega Dreamcast's greatest hits collection, for the PS4. Here is the question, can they fit a few games on one disc, or would it be put in the PS Store for download? I'm still not all that cool with downloading full games on to my console. I still love having the physical disc. I know in the future we might all have to download our games. I did hear Sony and/or Microsoft, might put their games on SD cards, for the next gen, in a few years. shadowspider9 Hey, when you know it's your time to shine, you can't help it when you beat the competition. Playstation had so many good games too. I am a Sega lover, always will be, but Sega made too many bad business decisions and remember, Sega was proven to be just as ruthless in the past as well with their advertising. It would be awesome if they all collaborated and made a super console.
The Sega Dreamcast is truly a gem in console history. It was advanced, powerful, and had its own network, leading to the advancement of more online networks.
So Sega unintentionally caused Sony and Microsoft to enter the video game market. Huh.. Is it me or are video game companies creating their own competition?
Microsoft yes sony no we have Nintendo to thank for that. Also the PS1 was made to compete against the N64 as more of a revenge tactic against nintendo
@Schweirdo Nooo, the idea for the PS1 came about because Sony had developed a prototype disk-based system for Nintendo, but Nintendo decided to continue using cartridges and develop their own system, so Sony said screw it and released it on their own. PS1 was squarely aimed at the Sega Saturn, quickly surpassed it, then continued to dominate the market when the N64 came out a couple of years later.
Actually, Sony got in because Nintendo stabbed them in the Back with the SNES CD add-on Sony was supposed to make. A Major reason Microsoft came into the Market because they wanted to Compete with the PS2 after realising it was taking over Homes.
For some reason, the Dreamcast feels so... timeless. It has enough graphical capability to not look dated when put next to other next-gen systems, it still has unofficial games produced for it, and most games on the system still justify a purchase 16 years later. ... Dang, I want a Dreamcast now.

Back in 2002 I got a Dreamcast from some random guy staying with my mom along with like twenty games and an internet adapter that's now worth up to 200$. That guy literally disappeared and I've never seem him since.
I have to disagree on that. The Dreamcast had a much, much better starting lineup of games when it was released in the US instead of falling flat on its face the first year, not to mention the DC also had a more varied library of games. The Dreamcast also brought some new features the gaming world instead of a few gimmicks .
On a business point, yeah it fell flat but the process in developing for ALL these new systems are taking a lot more time then anyone expected. But from a gamer's point, some of the grade A games are already here and the rest of the highly anticipated games are coming. People keep referring to the GamePad as a gimmick. If you played with it, you'll realize it is more used as a tool and does not get in the way of gameplay, only adds to it.
Javy G Maybe but bear in mind the DC started well and then the PS2 momentum started going and pretty well ended the possibility of it getting a good foothold (along with wonky biz decisions Sega made of course) the Wii U has been around for 2 1/2 years and started as a fizzle but hasn't died just yet as opposed to Sega's announcement at 18 months.
Dreamcast has a much, much better and more innovative library, with masterpieces in every genre, and the technology was groundbreaking. Nintendo did not innovate with the hardware or software of the Wii U, and suffered for it. They are just now recapturing that creative spirit with the Switch that Sega had while creating the Dreamcast
Why so much footage of Nights Into Dreams for PSN / XBLA ? ... It was a Saturn Game & the Dreamcast sequel never existed and no picture have ever filtered... Re-using footage of the early remake bugs me to no end as DYKG is usually flawless...
Benzaie sur une vidéo de DYKG ! *-* This was probably one of their favorite games which might explain why they chose to show this much footage... But you're right anyway... :/
BenzaieLive At least the Nights footage looked good compared to Phantasy Star ! Honestly the caves were the worst possible choice for showing the game off and could you pick a better place than a doorway?
Actually Nintendo won the console war due to Sega systems having horrible hardware even worse the NES a 8 bit console had better hardware than s 16 bit console the Sega Genesis
The truth is even more ironic, you want to know why Sony came to Sega for a console idea? because Nintendo backstabed them out of the deal. Nintendo first wanted a partnership with Sony to make a CD based console and the first concept looked like the playstation but Nintendo then canceled the partnership without telling Sony so Sony wanted sweet sweet revenge.
Faust Girl From what I remember (I can be completely wrong here) Nintendo contacted Sony to create a CD add on to the Snes much like the Sega CD, but Nintendo backed away and instead went to Philips to create it and shockingly backed away again, thus leading to the CDi as well as the PlayStation and we all know what happened after that.
Home4infiniteLosers I've heared that Sony and Nintendo were working on a new game console, but Sony wanted to support 3rd party developers. Nintendo didn't want that, so they cut the deal. Man, so many rumours xD
Why do I feel like this was more about the Xbox than the Dreamcast. lol. If you make a part 2, you might want to mention how the Dreamcast had a VGA output allowing it to play nicely on computer monitors and HD televisions of the time.
the only flaws i can think of are the design of the controller, and the fact that it didn't have enough of a third party support to stand against the powerhouse that was the PS1.
The Dreamcast, an unsung hero of gaming that was WAY ahead of its time and paid for its predecessors sins. Also, it is MINDBLOWING that both Nintendo AND SEGA played huge parts into Sony making the PlayStation. Nintendo basically forced Sony's hand to make the console and SEGA gave them the blueprint of how to make the PS1. But the additional kicker is that SEGA basically birthed Xbox or GREATLY influenced it as well the creation of Xbox Live. Microsoft was actually AGAINST the idea at the time. All of these were all of SEGA's ideas in addition to other things thought crazy by most to implement then but are standards now. This is all insane. Tl;dr version = SEGA inadvertently created Xbox and PlayStation (at least in the form it is now), Nintendo also inadvertently created PlayStation (as well as Philips CDi) and now both PlayStation and Xbox took the spots of SEGA and Nintendo as the two biggest consoles on the market. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Video game history is so damn exciting since they rarely ever talk about the behind the scenes things back in the day and they aren't constantly documented like they are now. SEGA, it's a pity what happened to you post Dreamcast. If only the world had been ready for you and you were more business savvy. You'd probably be ruling the industry right now.
I’ve always seen the original Xbox as Dreamcast 2 especially when it came to its online functions and Sega sequels like Toejam and Earl being released on it.
Ramon Ramirez But it was still popular in Japan for years and their were even ntsc/pal version on dreamcast being produced along with original Japanese dreamcast releases.
I own a Dreamcast, think it's okay, but I personally stick to my Saturn even more. I love 2D games, loves its even more comfortable 3D Pad and significantly comfier 2D Pad and wish it had homebrew games released for it. I wish it had more games in general, too, but the games that I do own for it utilize the system in the best imaginable way. As revolutionary as it was, the Dreamcast should have came later on. The Saturn needs love too, but SEGA did not think so. And lots of people simply judge it as a failure without realizing the potential it had within. Also, its online still works as well. And I think it has a fantastic library of hits that many people besides myself should experience.
Medachod Ever heard of Bleemcast? The group had figured out how to get it to boot PS1, Gameboy, and some SNES games on it. Not sure about Saturn, but that wouldn't be a far stretch of the imagination. If people could figure out how to beat the devs and pirate cartridge games, it should be possible on the first Windows OS console.
CheffBryan That does sound interesting. If Bleemcast could do just as good of a job as SSF can in booting up Saturn games at full speed (even games that failed to run fast normally, such as Castlevania and Waku Waku 7; both run at full speed on this emulator, but not on a real Saturn) then that does sound interesting.
dang. idk how long you guess take on these but i appreciate it. every video you make is like a slap of nostalgia. havent even been a subscriber for more then three weeks and ive watched all your "Did you know gaming" series.
The dreamcast has better 3d graphics than now days. I think they should bring it back, they make games for it still with better looking graphics than the one
+Michael Pappano None, many surveys point out that pirates in most cases are not potential custommers. That means if they had no means to pirate they would not possess the hardware in the first place nor the pirated software
+Michael Pappano What other information? There is no credible source that says otherwise. All anti-piracy adds and campaigns are done by the producers or lobbyists. In the case of Sega Dreamcast the rampant piracy was the direct result of Sega taunting hackers by spreading lies about GD-Rom technology and claiming it to be impossible to circumvent. Hackers don't take such statements lightly, you know?
The moral of the story is the real world isn't black and white. So circumventing security is beneficial and defeating arrogance through humbling measures too. But most important is the fact that nothing is absolute specially when it comes to hackers and pirates. The harder a company tries to fight piracy the harder these individuals will fight back. It turns out that many GD-ROMS didn't actually use 1GB of data, more like 70-100mb which was just about the right size for people to share the games online. In the end SEGA dug their own grave with their lies.
+LuigiDoesStuff Mexico still make third party OEM Dreamcast up to 2011, and theres more under ground factory all over the world doing the same thing, so it was somewhat like an underground resistent group of the gaming market
referral madness You can order brand new dreamcast and all the parts you need to repair it form sega and there is the proof you need, they came in many place, mexico, china, servreal countries of asia and eastern europe, cuba and south africa. Seen them at a console repair shop next to one of my customer.
referral madness I am not sure about the link, but I know they dial up to sega with phone numbers, tough they won't give it out easily. Cause you know, those are business screct.
The sound of a dreamcast booting up still gives me chills. On a separate note, you know what would be swell? A "Golden Sun" did you know gaming episode
The DreamCast will forever remain high in my heart. It was one of my first game consoles, and I was always more of a Sega kid growing up. I'm greatly saddened by its short lifespan.
The Dreamcast was a total microcosm of Sega as a whole. Yeah, the Dreamcast was great, but did any one of us mourn when it died? Nope. We were all too busy enjoying the PS2 and eagerly awaiting the Gamecube and Xbox. Sega was always the generous well-meaning Joe but just could never get out of it's own way. Their games were always good but were never the best games. Their consoles were strong, but never the strongest consoles. Even before their mediocre third-party days, they always had missed potential. You enjoyed their company, but there was always someone better than them, wether it would be Nintendo, Sony or whoever. When Sega was belting out B-quality games, everyone else was posting masterpieces. We enjoyed the Dreamcast while it lasted, but then came the Playstation 2 and the rest is history. I don't think Sega really had the drive to be great. They were satisfied just being a good option, and I think that's why they always failed. People liked Sega because they always had POTENTIAL. But when push came to shove, they never lived up to it. We all wish that once, just once, they would have the breakthrough. Now, we have Bounce Pads and Bandages to their name.
I mourned its passing. I bought one on launch with saved money from my first job as a mantnence man at a camp for muscle distrophy kids.. it was fuckin great. Nfl2k changed the game. It was a great console. I loved it, right up until i may or may not have traded it for a big bag of ... basil ...
Let's face facts. The only successful Sega console was the Genesis. While Nintendo had success with the NES, the SNES, the N64, the Gamecube, and the Wii and Sony has had success with all it's home consoles. I've seen Sega fanboys say that if Sega makes another console it will destroy Sony and Microsoft and that's sad because they think Sega can actually make another successful console because they've never been able to make a console that's sold like the Genesis did and even then the Genesis still didn't sell as much as the SNES.
Jake Murrin I don't think that's what his point was. His point was that no one cared when the dreamcast flopped and no one cared when Sega dropped out of the console market and got bought by sammy. The truth is the only successful Sega console was the Genisis and all the consoles after the genisis were a failure. Also by saying that Sega developed more good games than any other developer in the entire video game industry makes you sound like a huge Sega fanboy.
Brandon MacLeod The N64 and Gamecube weren't successful consoles. They didn't do horribly, but they were crushed by the Playstation One and Two. The N64 sold less than a third what the PS1 did and the Gamecube sold something like a seventh of what the PS2 did. The Dreamcast wasn't a rousing success either mind you, at only half of what the Gamecube sold. I'm just saying trying to prop up Nintendo like every system they made sold like hotcakes is painting the picture a little skewed.
The Dreamcast will forever hold a place in my heart. I absolutely loved it. Sonic Adventure was absolutely addicting. My buddy got it for Christmas because his parents stood in line for hours, they said. I recall it being very popular on release. I was always at his house playing it until I got my own. Dreamcast is probably my last console that really pulls on my nostalgia strings. It's the last console that really was just so big in my childhood. Still got mine, too. Still collecting games for it.
Wow. Uzume had it really tough. She has been beaten by both Noire and Vert very hard, and then piracy. No wonder that she's living in a shitty world. If I was her, I would be really envious of Neptune.
How many times can you pronounce Sega wrong in 9 minutes? It's say-gah not segga. Have you never played a Gensis/Mega Drive, Brutalmoose? It shows you how to pronounce Sega as soon as you turn it on!
When I saw Aerowings for the first time it changed my life, the feeling of seeing how real that looked hasn't been matched by any system since then(maybe because of age), but to me the dreamcast is the best system I've ever owned.
So, thats two companies Sony fucked over with the Playstation. First they go behind Nintendo's back and gain full rights and revenue from the software/games that would have been developed on the SNES CD attachment, and then they take that same attachment make it a stand alone system and base it on Sega's specs for their console. Shame on you Sony.
Um.....do you actually know the backstory here? Sony didn't screw over Nintendo, it was the other way around, Nintendo decided against using Sony's idea for a CD attachment and partnered with Philips, whom Nintendo also threw under the bus not more than a year or so after Sony. There's a LOT of bad info out there but trust me, I've been into gaming for many many years and was around when this news was still fresh (and sucked cause I REALLY wanted my SNES to have a CD drive). Sony first dipped into gaming as Sony Imagesoft and most of their games kinda blew.....badly. The PS though was a pretty brilliant move though I still thought Sega had a better handle on gaming, not knowing just how badly they had screwed up and how many devs and retailers they screwed over with bad decisions.
I know bad decisions and shady business deals went on on both sides with Sony and Nintendo. What Nintendo did to Sony at CES was a dick move and could have been handled a hell of a lot better than it did. The reasoning behind why Nintendo did what they did was because Sony took claim to all the rights to all software including first party Nintendo titles published on the SNES CD or by this point known as the Nintendo Play Station. This meant that if Nintendo made a Mario game for the Play Station Sony would retain all rights to it. Sony announced the Nintendo Play Station at CES 1991 and only a day later Nintendo infamously embarrassed Sony by not only disbanding their partnership on the Play Station but announcing their partnership with Philips who was Sony's biggest rival at the time. Its moves like this and the regime like control Nintendo had over devs and publishers in the SNES days that has led to Nintendo's shortcomings and lack of third party support in the modern day. So yeah thinking about it Nintendo is more at fault here but Sony were no angels either, and with the Sega thing admittedly I was talking out of my ass no clue why I wrote that.
David Maglioli It's okay, I wasn't trying to be all confrontational, though I suspect I sounded that way, it's just I remember the saga unfolding month by month (after the fact obviously since it was in magazines) and this was my main area of interest at that time. No, Sony are definitely not angels either and I forgot about that whole issue of the IP rights. I do recall the big N being very heavy handed and litigious at the time.
***** And I'm 43 and read about much of this when it was fresh. Not all businesses are simply out to screw everyone else, but I do understand that many businesses do that. BTW what's your point? I do not seem to see anything about the subject other than trash talking two peoples' opinions on the subject matter at hand.
So your telling me, that sega. On its dying breath. After been beaten, and bankrupted by nintendo. Sega Inadvertantly created the only 2 other main console's against the nintendo. Aka they helped sony make the playstation 1, and helped microsoft consider, and make the xbox....... I just imagine the company director......Whispered into the air....... "Slay 1, and 2 shall arise" mumhmhhahahaha.
No because Sega worked with Sony only to improve Sega's products not to teach others about certain things. For microsoft I can't tell the same because they are well known for stealing Japanese and Russian technology and yet still fail to make a decent product. The only time they had luck was with the first xbox, they took as a base everything Dreamcast had and just improved it.
Should have been SEGA and not Microsoft who was the third company... Dreamcast was a better console than that mutated console it the world's shittiest name, Xbox.
***** Well... I assume we can both generally agree that the Xbox One was just a lump of plastic meant for money. It just couldn't outrun PC this generation.
"Partly due to the same reasons the Dreamcast had a Rampant piracy problem" shows skies of arcadia blue rogue ship flying by making me giggle (I love SOA, was my favorite RPG of the early 2000 and still is today)
The dreamcast was so fkn ahead of its time it's almost unreal with motion controls and online capabilities alone. no one was even really thinking about that stuff back then.

North American RUclipsr well, in general Nintendo has money whereas Sega did not.
This was probably one of their favorite games which might explain why they chose to show this much footage... But you're right anyway... :/
That's whats bugging you? Not the fact that they picked the most fucking ugly area to get footage for Phantasy Star?
Bacongeneral At least that was on the dreamcast unlike Nights !
BenzaieLive
At least the Nights footage looked good compared to Phantasy Star !
Honestly the caves were the worst possible choice for showing the game off and could you pick a better place than a doorway?
There was a sequel to Nights Into Dreams for the Wii, actually.
So Sega inadvertently created PlayStation and Xbox, looks like Sega did defeat Nintendo in the long run
hahahaha thats dope!
Home4infiniteLosers
I've heared that Sony and Nintendo were working on a new game console, but Sony wanted to support 3rd party developers. Nintendo didn't want that, so they cut the deal.
Man, so many rumours xD
"I ate a potato chip."
"What flavor?"
"VMU flavor."
CoasterKing it’s so GOOD
3 favorite games that i played in dreamcast:
Soul Calibur
Crazy Taxi
Resident Evil: Code Veronica
Dat Skies of arcadia footage when he talks about piracy...
+CarozQH Such a good rpg, I have an itch to play it =/.
+CarozQH mind blown!!!!
+CarozQH well you play as a pirate in Skies of Arcadia
Tiago Matos
I know, thats why i wrote that comment...
+Tiago Matos Duh
Did you know that this console fell into obscurity faster than Bubsy?
Fuck Bubsy, that cat was the bane of my childhood
Mat Milo But what about Bubsy 3D
Michael Lambert don't mention that....
Michael Lambert those were dark days for us all
Michael Lambert
its in the pit with the last airbender movie
Why do I feel like this was more about the Xbox than the Dreamcast. lol. If you make a part 2, you might want to mention how the Dreamcast had a VGA output allowing it to play nicely on computer monitors and HD televisions of the time.
Anyone remember the Power Stone series on the Dreamcast? Those games were awesome! I still play them to this day
I fucking loved those games!
Powerstone was awesome!!!
Hell yeah, remember mixing the weapons and items in that chamber thing to make dope ass weapons?
So much yes. I loved those games
Fuck yea!! they need to port that shit to the xbox.
3:35 I didn't even know Crazy Taxi had sequels yet alone a 3rd installment.
Ryuichi Sakamoto is my favorite composer. He has the most melancholic piano pieces I've ever heard.
Ah... Grandia II, Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, and Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. Thank you so much Dreamcast.
Man, I loved the Dreamcast. It was so perfect, It was the best console. There were no flaws. I can feel the nostalgia coming back.
(sarcasm intended)
I'M REALLY FEELING IT
the only flaws i can think of are the design of the controller, and the fact that it didn't have enough of a third party support to stand against the powerhouse that was the PS1.
***** It failed because people didnt trusted Sega anymore, and the PS2 could play DVDs.
No flaws? Hahahahaha
Plenty of flaws, sadly. Only one analogue stick and no DVD support were the two biggest, and ultimately meant the PS2 rapidly took over.
6:53 I'm really glad I didn't find that out when I was young. That probably would've given me nightmares for days or even weeks.
Ninjinfox22 I was thinking the same thing. But then again I already had nightmares from Rayman 2 on the dc…
The beginning song is Emerald Coast from Sonic Adventure, and the end song is After the Dream from Nights into Dreams
I can't believe Ryuichi Sakamoto composed the start up music, that guy seems to pop up on any random thing with nice music
Did Sony just team up with everybody until they had learnt enough about gaming to make their own console?
Did you know the Dreamcast' text font is Tahoma from Windows
I still play with my Dreamcast in 2019.
I’ve always seen the original Xbox as Dreamcast 2 especially when it came to its online functions and Sega sequels like Toejam and Earl being released on it.
Hearing the Dreamcast start up sound just brought back so many memories. So much nostalgia.
:)
The sound always brings me to my Pavlovian happy place.
Dreamcast was way ahead of its time.
exactly
NO!!
1999-2001. Too early to discontinue the Dreamcast back then.
Ramon Ramirez But it was still popular in Japan for years and their were even ntsc/pal version on dreamcast being produced along with original Japanese dreamcast releases.
Ramon Ramirez he should discontinue the dreamcast very early because the ps2 killed it
Brings back soo many great memories. I love you Dreamcast, You were a great friend.
Man I loved the Dreamcast and still play it from time to time! What a great system!
best start up sound ever🔊🔊🔊🔊
DYKG: TY The Tasmanian Tiger. Make it happen =)
wouldnt hate it :3
Jak and Daxter maybe?
Hey I've seen you comment on Destinys videos :D
Sly Cooper, too.
Thats one of my favorite ps2 games!
It does. Japanese Saturns use a server for their Netlink, well American Saturns use dial-up.
***** Look it up on RUclips, too! People have videos of them testing it out. Someone was doing a Netlink match as recently as a few months ago! :D
***** I have over a few dozen games for it and they are all pretty memorable.
You guys consistently have the best background music to your facts...Like seriously!
That sound of the GB CD's message..Feels like a teacher. xD
Come on wtf. What is the song at 5:30 that plays throughout the video! Someone deliver damnit!!!!
Dreamcast launch titles > PlayStation 2 launch titles
happy 22nd anniversary sega dreamcast!!! :3
I am very happy to see you used one of my videos (i.e. the one with PSO online gameplay at 2:52) to make your video, which is very good by the way :)
Man, stay off the light speed!
my bad!
Dreamcast was released on 9/9/99, video is 9 minutes long, the square root of 9 is 3; Half-Life 3 confirmed!
WOOHOO!!!
nice logic
hey don't blame me! I want that game!
8:59 actually
Or... Half Life 3 gets released 3rd of march 2033!
NES- Did You Know Gaming?
It's just a suggestion.
The 64th Shadow The SNES isn't the NES you insensitive fuck.
The 64th Shadow Is a SNES a NES
The 64th Shadow Thought I'd point out he asked about the NES not the SNES :)
The 64th Shadow Epic fail tho.
Lmao you guys are assholes but then again how do you confuse a NES to a SNES? ! XD
dang. idk how long you guess take on these but i appreciate it. every video you make is like a slap of nostalgia. havent even been a subscriber for more then three weeks and ive watched all your "Did you know gaming" series.
Anyone know the name of the song that starts at 5:40? Is that by Ryuichi Sakamoto?
Sega needs to stop making stupid decisions and get back to making unique games like the Dreamcast was known for.
Or at least make those games that people loved on the dreamcast for modern consoles
Exactly! Sega has so many amazing IP under their belt and yet all they do is make more bad Sonic games.
Or maybe actually be a sovereign company instead of a division of Sammy. That'd at least be a start.
They actually do, they just don't release them outside of Japan though.
Alien Isolation. Discussion over.
Did you know: people are still making games for release on the Dreamcast; despite it being discontinued the year I was born?
It's in the video m8.
6:53-7:05 I think I'm gonna have nightmares! D: (I have a fear of warning messages)
***** Duuuude same :o
***** I love the rush of tose warning messages. idk why.
Damn what's the music starting at 5:42?
After the Dream - Nights into Dreams
The dreamcast has better 3d graphics than now days. I think they should bring it back, they make games for it still with better looking graphics than the one
Goddamn pirates. Don't they see the damage they do?
+Michael Pappano
None, many surveys point out that pirates in most cases are not potential custommers. That means if they had no means to pirate they would not possess the hardware in the first place nor the pirated software
Other information says differently. Regardless, it's illegal, immoral and shameful.
+Michael Pappano
What other information? There is no credible source that says otherwise. All anti-piracy adds and campaigns are done by the producers or lobbyists.
In the case of Sega Dreamcast the rampant piracy was the direct result of Sega taunting hackers by spreading lies about GD-Rom technology and claiming it to be impossible to circumvent. Hackers don't take such statements lightly, you know?
picketf and that gives them the right to do what they did? Not in my opinion.
*Raises controller* Long Live the Sega Dreamcast
+dandroid98 Well, it didn't really live long...
+LuigiDoesStuff Mexico still make third party OEM Dreamcast up to 2011, and theres more under ground factory all over the world doing the same thing, so it was somewhat like an underground resistent group of the gaming market
referral madness
You can order brand new dreamcast and all the parts you need to repair it form sega and there is the proof you need, they came in many place, mexico, china, servreal countries of asia and eastern europe, cuba and south africa. Seen them at a console repair shop next to one of my customer.
referral madness
I am not sure about the link, but I know they dial up to sega with phone numbers, tough they won't give it out easily. Cause you know, those are business screct.
+Saviliana got a link to buy brand new dream cast?
Should I get a dreamcast?
I still play mine, but then I have a lot of the games and since most aren't available on virtual consoles, it's the only way to play them.
It would be difficult to get nowadays as they seemed to have Disappeared after the PS2 destroyed it, and that was back in 2001.
Jake Murrin Still didn't sell well.
Bought a Dreamcast today!
Hope you're enjoying it!
Nintendofanboy 1889 is it awesome?!
Sucker!
Where's James Small when you need him?
Fapping to Chu Chu Rocket.
All we need is a Did You Know Gaming on the Sega Saturn and the Sega Game Gear, and knowledge of the Sega consoles will be complete.
That is an impressive amount of storage on their disks.
1.2 GB? DVD-ROM discs (PS2 and Xbox) can hold 4.7 GB, four times as much.
doctor345678
Yeah, but the Dreamcast predated those systems.
Impressive compared only to PS1 and N64 standards. Even GameCube discs held more memory
Sjono I mean, for the time.
If it were for the 5th gen yeah, but it'd be already outdated by time its competitors arrived. It'd get worse third party support than GameCube
So Sega partnered with a fighter jet company???Thats cool.
Most video game technology is based on military contractor technology.
+Jack Barrington no but the PS3 was.(that was said in the PS3 video)
Now Sega is just giving us shitty sonic games.
two words:bayonetta 2
And Total War
And Alien Isolation
And Yakuza
And Football Manager
And Hatsune Miku (For some reason)
What do you mean? Sonic Gen and colors were fucking awesome.
I knew my father has flaws. At least his's doing well.
sega is known for arcade games look at japan club sega the dreamcast was just a glorified arcade port machine
This is by far my favorite DYKG video. Some very interesting stuff here. Especially that bit about MIL-CD.
Wasn't expecting to see Brutalmoose on this one lol, always great to see another video with him.
How can a Sega fan not cringe when hearing the word Sony. The Apple of gaming, gets credited for everything invents nothing.
Wow. Uzume had it really tough. She has been beaten by both Noire and Vert very hard, and then piracy. No wonder that she's living in a shitty world. If I was her, I would be really envious of Neptune.
Hyperdimension Neptunia reference right there
Nooooooo
I like the Dreamcast its not the best system but for Sega's last console they left with a bang.
whats that song on 5:44
What is the song starting from 5:40 till the end??? Please answer fast
"Potato chip" I GET IT!
How many times can you pronounce Sega wrong in 9 minutes? It's say-gah not segga. Have you never played a Gensis/Mega Drive, Brutalmoose? It shows you how to pronounce Sega as soon as you turn it on!
It's not pronounced "segga".
No.
***** One 'e'. Like 'Beta'. So it's pronounced 'say-ga'.
mary hadfad no dummy, its a japanese word, and "se" is pronounced as such . you lose .
Louie V. Da G. No, Sega in Japanese would be 株式会社セガ. It was short for 'Service Games' - which is English. Nice try though.
mary hadfad In Japanese, Sega is セガ, 'se', as in sent.
what game is shown at 7:40?
can someone please tell me what the first song they used in this video is from? like, from 00:10 to 3:58? it's really cool and I want to download it.
Sega. Say-guh.
Sony Should Thank Sega for Virtua Fighter
Let's start a thread. What's your favorite Dreamcast game? Mine's either Shenmue or Grandia 2.
sonic adventure 1
Probably Skies of Arcadia for me, but Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur and Phantasy Star Online are _very_ close behind.
It's a toss-up between Sonic Adventure and Chuchu Rocket.
Marvel 2 and Giga Wing 2
Supabacon Plays You. I like your profile pic.
Just curious, but what's that game at 7:39, the highly colorful one with the talking dog people?
***** I'm 23 dude, and I was wrong anyway if you read the comments before commenting you would know that.
Hail Hydra
No because Sega worked with Sony only to improve Sega's products not to teach others about certain things. For microsoft I can't tell the same because they are well known for stealing Japanese and Russian technology and yet still fail to make a decent product. The only time they had luck was with the first xbox, they took as a base everything Dreamcast had and just improved it.
siloPIRATE Cut of one head, and two will take its place... Shoot down one plane, and an entire army will avenge it... HAIL HYDRA!
Should have been SEGA and not Microsoft who was the third company... Dreamcast was a better console than that mutated console it the world's shittiest name, Xbox.
The 64th Shadow No XB360 is good. But it's like a fucking PC with problems and shit. First Xbox had a few good games but console was crap.
***** Well... I assume we can both generally agree that the Xbox One was just a lump of plastic meant for money. It just couldn't outrun PC this generation.
The 64th Shadow Yeah it's pretty useless. Only for people obsessed with XB Live and Achievements. Wii U, PC and PS4 is the way to go. (And 3DS)
***** I wouldn't say PS4.
The 64th Shadow I don't have one but I'd like one because of like... 2 games, and also I don't have a very strong PC.
"Partly due to the same reasons the Dreamcast had a Rampant piracy problem" shows skies of arcadia blue rogue ship flying by making me giggle
(I love SOA, was my favorite RPG of the early 2000 and still is today)
Its my all time favorite game : 3
No way, the people who pirated games are black pirates, not blue rouges.
The dreamcast was so fkn ahead of its time it's almost unreal with motion controls and online capabilities alone. no one was even really thinking about that stuff back then.
99% of people in the comments don't know what they're talking about
No I don't! Your right!
+DHarrFilms That's the internet for ya. But that percentage is usually 35%. Yours is a little bit high. Oh and by the way, nice profile pic.
+DHarrFilms Nice profile picture!
MOE-nado
Based on that statistic, it is very likely you are one of them
