The virtue and reward of patience

- A few months ago, Memphis gym owner Roderick Duncan noticed a homeless man, 24-year-old Bryan Taylor, sleeping in one of his old, unlocked cars. Duncan shooed him away, but Taylor returned the next day. And the next. And the next. Then, Duncan tried a different approach: offering him a cup of coffee. Correspondent Steve Hartman reports on how kindness, and a lot of patience, has helped forge a bond.

Our world needs more people like Roderick Duncan!!!
Never to a fault. It takes a village and, right now, you’re the only inhabitant. God Bless You
True. You're both my heroes -- helping a homeless adult and featuring him in a TV report. Wow! 👌🏼👏🏼
cause you never see homeless people on TV. Why don't you go help a homeless person?
This is a beautiful example of brotherly love. Thank you for this positive story. Prayers for these young men❤️
People may not understand that when someone's been thrown away over and over and over, they trust you even less than you trust them. And they'll test you -- "Is this what will make you throw me away? Come on, we both know you're going to do it, let's just get it over with." It takes a lot of patience to work through that, and a lot of love. Bless both of these men for what they're doing to try to repair that damage.
you're not dispensing any great wisdom here. Everybody already knows what you're saying. Do you act or just talk?
@@gerrydooley951 Huh. Well, all I can tell you is that in my experience on both sides of this phenomenon, no, not everyone knows this. All the best.
True tough love is where there is never a last chance to change.
God bless you for trying to assist someone. If we all just helped one person in this country regardless of who they are and where they come from, America would be the country we once knew.
Thank you Roderick ..you have a huge ❤….Bryan , it’s so good to see the change. Lovely story, thank you CBS SUNDAY MORNING.
your love and kindness brought out the best in this young man, your Parents raised you right and your paying it forward Bless you
Be kind and help shape lives. We are all here together.
What a wonderful story!
The importance of positive male role models in the life of a young man, particularly a young black man, cannot be overstated.
LOVE this! We need more Rodericks in this world!
That’s what happens through love. One kind gesture can blossom into a friendship. We never know the stories. Sometimes just listening and showing kindness makes a difference.
4 things - 1. What a great man to help another when pushed back on. 2. Foster parents do this every day of every year they stay in it. We're on a placement that's lasted 3 years this July 31st. He has broken 5 doors, at least 4 places of drywall, and panicked several people including our autistic son. Today they play Minecraft together and you can see overall a true bond there. 3. This is another sign of the lack of young adult communities in the US. If you are not in college in a dorm together, where do you meet other 18-26yo's? Entertainment venues? Grocery stores? Work? 4. My love of Sunday Morning came about 3 months ago. I've enjoyed your RUclips channel almost every Sunday since. So thank you for being that sleepy "niceness" every week (and couple times during the week).
There are three positive “P’s” I try to follow, thanks to old friends of mine- I really thank them for that. The three positive “P’s”: Peace, Patience, and Prayers (or Positivity, for those who aren’t religious).
With those in mind, they’ll help you see the brighter side of yourself, while waiting for something good to happen, as well as for other people.
Beautiful 💙
It's called AGAPE love
The kind of video that gives me hope. Thx
Southern blacks understand patience more than anybody. Good job Rod!
It defies expectations, considering how many horrible things they have endured over the course of our imperfect country's history. It is good to be reminded of that patient (and forgiving) nature.
Good dude.
Excellent.
Thanks!
Beautiful💙🙏🏼
Way to go…I too help a lot of young guys out there who don’t have anyone to help them. I sure don’t want to see those guys just wandering around, that gets them into trouble. So, help one of these guys or girls, maybe that’s all they need to get where they want to go.🤔
♥️🙏🏽
GOD BLESS
God bless you both ❤
Thanks for great story that did not highlight Race, Gender or the Pride Boys Cult
whatttttt?
Turn to Jesus. Repent and cry out to God.
I’m far too busy this morning to sit through this video.
Why are you even on here?
