  • Evil is a pretty insane and scary thing- but how do we stop it? Just wanted to open up a conversation with all my awesome viewers. This video is not monetized. On the side note, I want to thank everybody who helped and made a difference during these hard times like the Las Vegas police department and EMT's. Thanks for watching.

      We don't see people going to war over the pepsi vs coke debate, so why should anybody go to war over politics? It's just as asinine. An opinion does not define somebody, just as a person should never identify themselves by their opinion.

    You're a great guy David... just watched your "Why suicide is never the answer" video and it makes me think. Somehow many of us manage to feel alone even though we are, some way or another, "engaged" with other people throughout the day. Some people turn that pain inward... some outward. Loneliness is a powerful emotion... seems we've dealt with similar struggles, so I know you understand.
    For those that don't have an outlet, I think it brews evil. Showing people they matter to you throughout your day I think is a good way to start.
    So anyone who reads this, if you can try to say something genuinely kind to a few people per day... I think it is a good start to making a difference. Also, be sure to bring up something to them days/weeks later that shows you remember something you two spoke about. I think a lot of people think no one really listens/cares... these little things help show we do
    Thanks for starting the conversation David

    We as a society are too quick to judge one another and have very little if any understanding what so ever of each other. We're too busy focusing on ourselves to realize that we need to understand and, yes, LOVE each other. All God wants of us is to love each other and love Him. And yet we cannot muster that strength.

    So in med school we talked about columbine briefly. Anti-depressants can cause suicidal and violent behavioral changes in Adolescents. And guess what....the 2 kids in the columbine school shooting were recently put on anti-depressants a few months prior to the shooting.
    My professor told us this story to make sure we always counsel our patients to watch for behavior changes and report back if parents notice anything.

    I think the best way to stop it is to make it easier for people to talk to someone. Therapist can be expensive even with insurance and unless you have a friend or family member you trust with your thoughts, you’re not bound to talk to them. I for one am the type of person who keeps all my thoughts bottled up because it works for me. I rarely talk to a friend about what’s going on in life. I prefer to go sit in the woods and listen to nature and see how beautiful the world is and talk my problems out by myself. Obviously, that’s not going to work for most people so making what does work more accessible is pertinent. Also, turning off the media and doing your own thinking would go a long way these days. Everything is made to be so political now a days and it’s not. It’s not a policy issue, it’s not a gun issue, it’s a what’s in people’s heart and mind issue and until folks stop letting others tell them what to think and just start loving one another, not much will probably ever change.

    Whether you're religious or not. I believe we as people need more love, kindness, laughter and simple respect for one another. I believe in "Paying it forward". The simple idea of when you get coffee, food, etc, etc ... Simple things that may or may not cost a lot and pay for someone else. If you can't do it financial, then mow their lawn, open a door, paint a fence, something, anything no matter how big or small and do it with a smile. Evil will never go away but one day there will just be less of it.

    David I just want to thank you so much for this video. I greatly appreciate all of your videos but it is great to hear a more personal conversation starter from you. When it comes to eradicating evil, I honestly do not know if it can be done. There will always be good people but I fear the same will be true for those who are evil in this world. My way of life is ensuring that good and innocent people around me will be helped in time of need and hopefully protected from the evil people who wish to do great harm. Thanks again David! You are a very wise 27 year old. Personal morals and love in my opinion come from the love of Christ. Life never really gets better over time. People live people die. People get sick with cancer, die in car accidents or very rarely die in an act of evil like Vegas. People shoot each other everyday on the streets for no reason, this was no different. We could live the rest of our lives gripped with fear of things like this happening or we could simply try to be nice to each other and teach them to love the best way we know how. God is love and he loves us and we don't have to do anything for it. I love you all and seeing all that I know accept Jesus into their hearts and feel total love will bring peace. I love you all, and I'm praying for those that lost loved ones and those that are still injured. Take care.

    I think the best way to keep yourself from evil, find something good to put your faith in or believe in. Not necessarily a religion, but something in your life that would make you think before you act. It could be your parents or a significant other, it could be a sibling, friend, or even something inanimate like your car lol. But something that would make you think "well what about _____" before you did anything "questionable"

    Hindsight is not always 20/20, and a lot of times the red flags are not always enough to notice at the time. Trying to be alert enough to see those flags is also difficult. I went through my own suicidal/homicidal thought periods in grade/high school. Like you, I never acted on anything. I also like the idea of teaching the younger ones how to handle and to respect firearms.
    The best thing is to surround yourself with good, life minded people. Yes... Life minded. Those that will love you for who you are and help keep you in the light and away from the darkness of the downward spiral.

If no one were to report on this, I feel as if the people committing these crimes wouldn't get the attention that they want.

    The mental health in the USA is so scary. I feel like people aren't eating properly and that's hurting them both physically and mentally. Your body and brain needs those nutrients and vitamins and minerals to keep functioning properly. Think of you body like a car; if you put bad gas in a car it's not going to run correctly. I like to think of that the same as your body

We have crimestoppers line in the united kingdom where you can report crime anonymously but most people would not think to report a big wig/billionaire, why not? If the big wig/billionaire is affecting your life in a negative way, just make the call/write the letter/send an email.

    We should take accountability and report what we see rather than ignore it. For example, if we go to an airport and see a suspicious person leaving a baggage and walk away.....we report it right?? Because we think it’s a terrorist.
    So why don’t we report people we live with or run into in our every day lives....if we think they might have intentions to hurt someone??
    Why didn’t the wife ask questions like “why is my husband buying dozens of guns?”
    We have to take accountability guys. We don’t have to be Batman but simple awareness and common sense goes a long way to potentially saving lives.

      It's not her fault she didn't know, dude nobody knew what was going to happen except for the shooter. He wasn't your common criminal or gangbanger. He was a smart, cunning, and sick person who was a master at hiding his true intentions. How can you report suspicious behavior if everything seems to be perfectly normal? Guns are legal in Nevada (Their gun laws are a fucking joke) and he had money to blow on whatever he wanted. He was smarter than the average person, had money to waste on whatever he wanted, and took care of his girl friend. On the surface that doesn't raise any eyebrows there's nothing really suspicious. But out of 7.5 billion people in the world there's a possibility that there are just some sick twisted pieces of shit out there who are rotten to the core and are smarter than you, me, majority of the world and know how to hide their true intentions until it's too late.. It's sad, but a real possibility. It sucks that we can no longer go to concerts, movies, festivals, anywhere there is a large gathering or people, etc anymore without the constant thought lingering in the back of our minds saying "I hope nobody target us because we're all sitting ducks here." How do you report if nothing puts you on edge, makes you put your guard up, or seems suspicious? It fuckin sucks man, we can try to do our absolute best but there will always be a sliver of chance that something could go wrong, there will always be some level of chaos that we cannot predict and is out of anyone's control. This whole situation makes me sick to my stomach, those innocent people didn't deserve to die they just wanted to have fun at a concert for fucks sake, and that scumbag is lucky he took the easy way out or he would have gotten a lot worse if he was still breathing and caught..

    I think evil is in all of us. Honestly we all do bad things or think of terrible things to do in some point in our lives. I'm not gonna get to religious or political but think it's about how people suppress the evilness rather than being evil vs. not being evil. Like everyone has a ratio of Angel:Devil. And for some people the devil just out ways the angel more. To stop evil I think we need to bring the "angel" out in people more. by doing so it'll oppress the devil.

    The reality is that people have no natural moral compass. Because of this, evil has always been an issue, and it always will be until Jesus comes back and restores the Earth and universe to how it was in Eden. Why do you think Adam ate the fruit despite explicitly being told it was bad for him? It's a human tendency. Now, some people definitely have worse tendencies than others, clearly. But regardless, the same force of human nature that causes people to be violent can manifest in something like verbal abuse in others. The only way to permanantly avoid it is to allow Jesus, the creator of all things good, to shape our lives and fill the world with more love.

    There are bad people with evil thoughts everywhere. The trick to making most of them benign, is to make sure they can't lay their hands on such devastating weapons legally and easily. Unfortunately America is too far down the rabbit hole of easily available military class weapons and these events will simply become more common. Its too late to change.
    This latest mass murderer was a law abiding citizen with no criminal record and was not mentally disturbed. He bought and owned all his guns legally and right up until he pulled the trigger, he was a good guy with a hell of a lot of guns.
    I'm sorry America, but if you keep your gun culture, you will continue to have these devastating events. If Sandy Hook was not bad enough for your country, nothing will be.
    This statement is from a man who loves shooting guns, who was bought up by a father who loved guns. I am also a citizen who thanks God every day that he lives in a society where a man like this latest mass murderer in Las Vegas, would simply not have had any avenue to obtain such an array of weapons in any legal way.
    In my country, this law abiding citizen would never have amassed these weapons legally, and if he tried to get them illegally, he would have been caught. In my country, his evil thoughts would have almost certainly remained evil thoughts until the day he died, instead, in America his evil thoughts were so easily fulfilled by easy access to such devastating weapons and he took 59 of your people to the grave with him.
    The NRA has your country by the balls and you don't even seem to know it. In fact, It seems you like being fondled by an organisation that has no interest in your well being, and seems hell bent on making it as easy for everyone to kill everyone.
    Look, it's simple... you keep your guns, and you live with the obvious mass murders, that is the price you have to pay.
    or...
    If you have big enough balls, you tell the NRA to get it's hands of your balls and you do something about it.
    The choice is yours America... are you strong enough to do something about it...?

    Following the example of Jesus Christ is the only way in my opinion, unfortunately many people have just taken the name for personal gain, reverting things to make things even worse. And unfortunately not many people are willing to give up their wicked ways to pick up their cross and follow him

    • @jeanboy9108

      The world is the way it is, and it's a sin issue, the pride of life, the love of money, believing that somehow the world revolves around the self, the natural desire to be above someone rather than to humble one's self and accept the fact that we are all humans beings created equal, no one is bigger than the other, but it's a fact of life that not many people are willing to truly accept.

    • @jeanboy9108
      @jeanboy9108 7 лет назад

      And i know not alot of people are not going to agree with me, but hey? That's completely okay, it works for me and those around me. Ultimately, it starts with you. (The reader), what do I mean? Well let's start by loving our neighbor, by being quick to forgive no matter the cost, by loosing ourselves in the service of other, putting others first and putting ourselves last, being meek, humble and understanding, realizing that everyone has experienced life differently and that we won't always come to an agreement, by showing others grace, giving them help even though sometimes it doesn't feel like they deserve it, by turning the other cheek. By letting go of grudges that ultimately only harm us as an individual, you get the picture.

    I will say two things: Yes, there is a thing called 'evil', but it comes in all shapes and sizes. A certain politician who conducts world changing diplmacy through twiiter could also easily fall into this category for me. I think some people have a tendency from the get-go, some are susceptible to influence from others.
    And as a second point: From my german/european perspective, the discussion and general situation regarding firearms in the US is nothing short of absolutely ridiculous. There is no, not a fricking single, reason for the general public to own firearms and even familiarize their children with them. The videos you've shown deeply concern me. It is beyond me how this could be a 'normal' generally accepted situation. I hope you do not understand this as a personal statement against you, it is just a general view I have on the topic.
    And no I am not as stupid to think that stricter gun laws will stop all such attacks from happening, but if it saves just one live (and I hope we can all agree it would save way more), then it would be worth it.
    And just to let you know: Thank you for bringing such topics up. You've always been an honest and upfront guy and this is the reason why I've been subscribed to you since the early days when you had less than 10k subs. Keep things going like this, RUclips these days is full of meaningless stupid content, it's nice to see noble exceptions.

    • @Tunerguy21
      @Tunerguy21 7 лет назад +1

      Markus Krause Not to be contrarian, but as someone who grew up with their father in law enforcement, there's no reason why the public SHOULDN'T have firearms. There's obvious exceptions, of course, but for the typical, regular, law-abiding citizen, why not? There is no reason to fear guns. In fact, the reason why some are taught as young children how to use them is to show that there's nothing to fear. The key is teaching proper operation and, most importantly, respect. You respect firearms. Obvious opposition point: if you have young children who know how to use guns, you run the risk of immature people with killing power. That's why respect is key, and actually where I think the trend of kids who play games centered around shooting is an issue. Despite being a gamer myself and hating whenever games are used as an easy scapegoat, it CAN distort your viewpoint. You don't realize the power you have or the implications of that power. You don't know what its really like to kill someone and have that blood on your hands. That's why PROPER training is important. Hopefully this rant is intelligible in someway, I just typed up what I was thinking on the spot. And just for clarification, I'm NOT trying to undermine your comment. Just offering that other perspective.

    • @markusdd5
      @markusdd5 7 лет назад

      I know where you're coming from. I had several conversations with US Americans about this topic and I recognize that this is a very major cultural difference between our continents. I just feel that there is no open discussion with real arguments on the topic (beside the usual 'It's dangerous!' 'But yeah, it's our right!').
      I think also police work would be much saver if they knew that not any other person is likely carrying a gun. The way traffic controls work in the US is very irritating for me. Someone just drove a little to fast and policemen are walking up to the car with one hand on their gun...not a way society could work for me really...

    • @Tunerguy21
      @Tunerguy21 7 лет назад

      Understandable. I know as far as traffic stops and the like go, based on what I've heard from my father, nowadays its better to be safe than sorry (for the officers). Before, if you would pull someone over, chances are the person would comply and there would be no issues, and no real need for that "hand on the gun", although its something they do as a just-in-case. However, nowadays, while there are still plenty of people who will comply, there are more people than before that won't, and being an officer and having your life on the line, you have to be ready for whatever. Really, so long as you show respect towards the officer and have some open communication, there's nothing to worry about, although if you aren't used to how things go, I can see how it could be unnerving the first time. As far as things being safer without guns, I don't think you could ever really stop people from wanting them. You ban it, and now its a "forbidden fruit" kind of thing (like Skylines, if you want to bring it back to cars). Criminals, whether up-and-coming or existing, are the ones to watch out for, and by definition they break laws, so more laws wouldn't really do much. Would it make it more difficult, yes. But people always find a way. Unfortunately, I think we just have to chalk it up to the US having possibly some of the worst citizens. Its a people problem. They cause the issues.

      Saielb i mean it cant all be solved through weed. weed has done great things but other things need to be worked on, like the general mental health of society. if you pacify a psycho he’s still gonna snap, you’re just delaying it till he’s out of bud.

      metroboomin you're right. Weed would just be a first step. There have been a few interesting studies on ptsd, addiction, and psychedelics. That coupled with therapy might be the next revolution in our society's advancement.

      Max Hardcore. The hood is a financial issue; that's why we need more information. People lack empathy and perspective.
