my eyes turned watered as soon as lanegan began singing the stations... i can't believe i am living in a world without his presence, voice and talent. a true legend. long live to him and his soulful music. helped me through a lot in life.
2+ years later and I’m still not over the passing of Mark Lanegan. I discovered him when I was about 15-16 years old thanks to one of my music teachers. He played Long Gone Day for me and I was immediately intrigued and needed more of that voice. His words, his delivery, everything. Mark was the real deal. Such an incredible singer and songwriter. He’s one of my biggest influences. Rest In Peace Mr. Mark Lanegan ❤ I hope he’s in the afterlife chilling with Layne and Kurt. 😢
I saw these two live with Dave Rosser. The best thing about the show was the Dulli is very showbiz with loads of quips and banter. Lanegan remains stoney throughout which adds a layer of great comedy. Dave Rosser is also an exceptionally good guitarist.
Now with both Dave Rosser & Mark Lanegan gone, no more Afghan Whigs and no more Gutter Twins, very sad perspectives, you are severely missed, guys! ♥♥ There must be great music in heaven!
Now that QOTSA have been remembering Mark in their tour by play the old songs he sang, i remembered about listening to Saturnalia a lot, and found this video. I feel Mark Lanegan was the closest to Jim Morrison in modern times, and really enjoyed listening Gutter Twins again
Shame that the Front Street performance is edited out of this show (you can see Danny Bland come center stage w/ guitar and Greg light a fresh ciggie before the edit into River Rise) would be nice to have a nice pro shot recording for that song. I remember when Paste would share single videos from this show on their site pre YT but one day after the Stations the stream just kept going and I got to see 30 minutes of the set that day before having to leave for work, wonder if the show was intact back then?
Interesting. I've never heard anybody trying to sing out of key on purpose before. Exene cervenka sounds wonderful singing slightly out-of-tune for some reason though
@@ianelliott1557 Yes!! I knew it.. I just heard that intro for the 1st time and I immediately recognized those beautiful sullen violin strings! Love that movie..
Hated this game time like all of the front line workers .,...it was scheduled for the elite .. glad I had dvr ..wrong placement anyway ...one Take : this is a well coached team who knows us ...it's there one of 3 chances to even get into the playoffs ...you don't think this very good team . isn't gonna play there asses off ....come on there season is on the line ...we got there best ..back ups and all ...11-0

Fucking hate it. I hate waking up in a world with no Mark Lanegan. And no Phil Western.

RIP Mark Lanegan. I came straight to this legendary performance as soon as I was ready.
I was actually at this one. it was a great show. I didn't know any of the material but it didn't matter. the show had the magic feel
Gutter Twins songs get even better live. Too bad i never had the chance to see them performing. RIP Mark.
Would love to see this show released on vinyl. Beautiful and amazing RIP Mark... This is a hard one to swallow
Like blood running warm.
Thankful for make this life more pleasant, Lanegan. Rest in peace.
These two made a amazing duo. RIP Mark Lanegan

No, no comedy at all. He has a story of his own. Love him.

Read "Sing Backwards and Weep". There is nothing funny about his life.
@howard bianchi are you saying you think it was an OD?
I saw them in Atlanta. Didn't know that there was a whole show available on RUclips. Awesome.
I was at this show. Certainly a unique moment in time, both musically and culturally. Pretty special to imagine being back there that night.
I was there. Awesome show
This is incredible!
RIP Mark, thanks for the songs and words.
I would have LOVED to have been here. God bless who ever recorded these magical moments to share.
great band live. loved this duo always
What a show!

AW just released a new song and is going on tour.
@@daveblakey5046 Thanks! Couldn't find any tour dates for Europe, but hopefully soon then!
@@daveblakey5046 Saw them in Cologne by now, brilliant performance! Thx again! Would have missed it, if you hadn't mentioned it!
I saw both Hollywood shows, on that tour.😎🎤🎸🎹🎶🎵It's more like an experience.🎼
Awesome, ty so much for sharing.
Grazie Greg, Grazie Mark !
Yup, i was at this show. Amazing
Accurately loose craftsmanship from two masters. D. Rosser largely contributes to this perfect display of maturity.
Ost of film "The Proposition" by Nick Cave and Warren is playing in the begging.

Great insight! Both were introverts who were able to share their darkest thoughts
He hated that comparison
Lanegan survived a lot longer, steady hot burn.
Absolutely brilliant
Just great!
I really hope they will reunite one day. Superb.
Oh wow so glade I found this
💛

Dear mark we miss you
Lanegan elevates everything he does.
Rip Lanegan and Rip Dave Rosser
What a pity that two damn illnesses have deprived us of the continuation of Saturnalia.
RIP GREAT MARK LANEGAN
¡Tocan un cover de José González! 😍
Dig it!!

My word, I miss Mark...
Anyone knows what's the intro?
RexVergstrong it’s the intro music to the Australian movie The Proposition
