Very nice thinking here. It’s nice to see a new concept in furniture design. How rare is that?! I think the lack of mattress could be annoying. Maybe an inexpensive futon mattress (I.e. one that folds a bit) could be added. Perhaps, since this is already a completed build, some framing could be added to the top to support the mattress as a seat cushion.
Just came across your video at 12:40a.m. est. This would be perfect for me in my small RV cargo trailer, I have a folding chair/bed that is 24" wide and about 68" long. I hope that you applied for a patent on your invention, it is a very good idea. If you are still making them how may I buy one and what would be the cost?
Just curious, to make the side rails fit side by side in the box next to each other, did you make the cut on the right further back than the cut on the left of the box?
Very clever! Add some upholstery to the box and it could become a seat when it's not a bed. Multi-functional! Love it!
