Thanks, glad you all enjoyed the run. If you’re curious why I didnt act more surprised at my WR it was because I got to GDQ 4 days early, grinded the heck out of this in the practice room to the point where I was consistently beating my old PB of 8:30 (I even managed to get a 7:58 god run in there) and I also found a new strat for the first boss that saved a few more seconds, so in a way I almost expected to WR on stage given the amount of time I put into practicing this at GDQ.
Me: Having Blizzard's punching arm be red to show his hitbox was was an odd choice, considering that the background is red. Game: Thermite Trashed! I'd say that I wasn't thinking obscure enough, but "supervillain thermite" only brought up a real-life mad scientist.
kandriod What you don’t see from the run however are the absolutely HORRIBLE combat mechanics casually (something I forgot to mention in my commentary was that in a normal 3 hit punch combo, only the first punch deals damage, thr other punches do nothing else), the movement on corners and objects is absolutely horrible and very glitchy, and the final 3 levels (the first two I go OoB on) are an absolute nightmare to finish casually. The final level in particular took me several hours on my first playthough. Great speedrun game though.
PeteDorr My personal favorite 2D Spider-Man is Spider-Man vs The Kingpin on the regular Genesis. Love the music and mechanics in that game. Just feels good to play.
