So Adder gets beaten by a bunch of veterans out of retirement house who apparently keep their old weapons ready for the time this day would come. Reminds me of Spongebob episode when Mermaidman and Barnale Boy called the old fish from the retirement home to beat up Spongebob and Patrick.
@@FrankieMankie Nah, that's just plain wrong. Look I get the art style isn't for everyone, but this Remake is a *great* remake. Gameplay is stellar, some good map/AI fixes, there's a ton of small interactions and bits of love put into the game. I get why some people don't dig it, and that's fine, but let's not pretend this is a bad game. It's anything but.

(I never thought 2D animations would look better than 3D). The map creator is still limited to small maps (Why?). Coop is still limited to 4 players (Why?) Online is limited to 2 players (Why?). Overall this is just a lazy remake in my opinion.

Sensei’s Power theme coming in before his normal theme. That’s how crazy good the electroswing vibes are. Love how the guitars kick in after the sax has had its fun as well as the transmission radio speaker effect for his (S)COP name. I swear it even has some of the GBA AW drums in the brief pause before the sax starts back up.

The specific sax techniques used here are clearly from another Jazz descendant/subgenre called Smooth Jazz. Electroswing is by definition a modern take on the Swing style using electronic instruments, aesthetic sensibilities, and editing techniques borrowed from modern electronic dance music genres like techno, electronica, and dubstep-editing techniques used here. And the drum sound used in the intro/transitions is a direct sample from the original GBA version of the song, part of the reason it’s so easy to classify as Electroswing. All of the labels used are accurate. I would primarily classify the original GBA version of Sensei’s theme as in the Big Band style, but limited to chiptune synth instruments, and Reboot Camps’ Power Theme as an Electroswing remix of that original Big Band theme-so both are Swing, but also subgenres OF Swing with elements from other genres, like Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Chiptune, and EDM. It is swing, but no music is ever fully described by “just” one, primary genre, despite the pragmatic labelling in music store aisles.
Fighters and bombers also dont suffer any penalties. Tho I guess bombers are irrelevant with battlecopters so good, so I guess the occasional fighter to counter their fighter.

Sensei's whole deal is being an old man who everyone underestimates but who used to be a legendary commander who never lost a battle. I'd say this theme does a good job of illustrating that. It starts off sounding old timey, like something some old geezer would listen to, but then it starts to hit really hard.
Honestly, I loved it when, in one of the missions, Sensei said something along the lines of "Back in my day, this would have just been a skirmish." It's just badass.
I can't help but feel a little like I imagine Sensei must when I see someone go hard into battleships or neotanks, or builds a single Missile unit to keep them safe from copters. Kids these days have to learn eventually. And it'd be impolite for me to not teach them today.
Well, past times were often very violent. He has seen things. For some people like Sonja Sensei being a legend is a big deal, for him who knows what war actually brings he'd rather not think too much about said legend, he just wants to protect his people and leave it like that.

@@friendpelle maybe in Campaign and certain War Room maps where the enemy ai typically has more income and will use it to push vehicles out early via base-skipping, I’d argue Assault maybe gives more value (though Command is still not too far off because BCopter FP for two stars is still pretty good). But in Multiplayer, where maps are asymmetrical, income is equal without taking enemy properties and unit count is king, Command is far better since it typically gives you at least 10 Infantry for free. And since Infantry are the single most important unit in PvP and you can basically get it every other turn, yeah there’s a reason Sensei is banned from AWBW’s Global Leagues.
Mechs are still mechs that they are slow. Sure they are in a massive swarm but they are still mechs. Also his CO power is only 2 stars, making it possible to pump up your unit count so early

This is hands-down the best reboot version of a CO power theme. They're all good in the updated version, but the instrumental nuisances in this update are so catchy and powerful. Honestly wish all the other reboot themes had this kind of punch.
i mean... the only other reason to go for airborne assault is superpower bonus and the mechs. the song though, it makes sure you feel like your about to style on your enemy and look funky doing it.
It's easier to shove back a hoard of tanks with Mechs, though I suppose if you needed a boost copter command could give you an opportunity to save up stars for airborne assault. Alternatively if you already have enemy ground vehicles under control there wouldn't be much benefit from the mech units. Tl;Dr: if you are overwhelmed by enemy ground vehicles, use airborne assault, any other case, use copter command

While I'm still a fan of the original, having another theme while powers are up is great and they've still nailed the character. His new theme(s) have military drumming yet it has a somewhat relaxed classic theme over it. His non-power OST feels like he's just going through the motions, the power OST has that drop into "You're going to get steamrolled, kid"
