It's incredible, all that you both have done to make that beautiful land your home. A little oasis. Also, that drone footage was amazing! To think that you have so much beauty all around you! And those cashews! I didn't know they grew like that, amazing.
Please look after yourself in the heat of Sri Lanka . Keep yourself hydrated. Roofing tiles are very pretty and environmentally sustainable but it your house is in a place the moneys are crossing be aware of the damage they may do to your roof.

Lucie greate job ... If you want to keep the roof timber in good condition for anlong time , to protect from termites , you need to apply black oil ( in sinhala "kalu thel") and it protect wood from termites ❤ pls try it. Ask lahiru he knows that ..

Remove the cinnamon plants from your land and plant large cooling trees, like jackfruit trees, mango trees, they can reduce the heat and make fountains, and also plant date palm trees on the sunny side, cinnamon trees are a tree that increases the heat a lot.❤❤❤

Why are you complaining about cinnamon? The best quality real cinnamon only found in Sri Lanka while you guys in Europe inadvertently consider the hard thick bark of cassia as cinnamon. The wild cinnamon in your property tastes sweet and the bark is crispy thin and flaky with a sweet aroma. So don’t destroy them.

I hope you two considered using wood preservatives and a Varnish on the timber being used, it is better in the longer run specially after seeing Lucie pick up a piece of termite infested rafter from the old roof. Other than that the little cottage seems to turn out mighty fine with a beautiful view.

Lovely to see the little house coming into shape. I hope the coconut beams were treated for termites before they went up for the tiles. It is sad that there had been people in that area also, who had not been quite honest in their dealings with the two of you and had messed up the new roof of your house below. I think it is a bull-bull and a white browed fantail nest that your showed Lucie. The nestlings may be quite grown by now. As always, love the way you two work together to get everything right.
