Another good episode... In my early 40s and whenever I bring up new hobbies, art, music, beats, record digging, etc, my friends first questions are about how to monetize, generate profit, or the dollar value of the items, will the value increase etc... No discussion of doing things for mental health, personal reasons etc. I've tried making beats for years, bought/sold equipment etc, 2 years ago I bought an MPC One and have practiced, messed around, and FINALLY made a beat that I was proud of. It cost me money and time, but the payoff was proving to myself that I could make something that I was proud of.
I'm jealous of you Illogic! 😅 I'm still another 8-10 years away from empty nesting. My oldest went away to college last year and I could see certain bills drop immediately 😅 1 down 2 to go. Haha.
