That's the way how to do it! Awesome work with antler, historical solutions, joinery...well researched work before started. Stunning!!! Thumbs upppppp master!!!!
wonderful mongol bow article on exarc you and Jason wrote Zoran. im taking a bowmaking class with Jason right now and just happened to see you in the comments of this wonderful video!
A little late but you're right on! Every bower is an artist and every hand made bow a piece of art...Some are the second graders finger painting while others belong in Fine Art Museums...His are obviously the latter.
From a fellow hornbow maker - its very interesting to see a Bulgarian hornbow and the method you are using. Good luck with the sinewing/tillering. It looks like a beautiful place, I visited Bulgaria once 10 years ago and I loved my time there.
Part 2 please sir!!.... Not only do you seem to make a great bow but your videos are addicting to watch!! Hope all is well with you and life is being very good to you!!
Excellent video. I was intrigued by the log vise and the way you used the wooden tool to apply the role wrap to hold the antler on while the glue dried
Well watching this makes me want a bow like that and since i am going mountain goat hunting in the not to distant future i know what i'll do with the horns now.Great stuff Stiliyan.
Thanks for sharing ,looks like it's going to be a awesome bow. I just started making a mongolian bow like you made previously. After watching that video I had to make one . I'm ready for part 2 to see what it's looking like .
Hello. Thanks for sharing . What I see is very valuable and interesting. I would like to know what wood you are using and how long you have left it in the steamed pot to be able to bend it like that ? Wood had been seasoned? How much? Thanks again.
Incredibly interesting...thank you for making this video. Just a question....the glue you use...it must be incredibly strong to withstand such huge stresses...what is it exactly please?
I sure hope the next part is better than the first!! It went from straightening out the horn to wrapping the other part of the bow. So was you wrapping it with the horn on it. What was the name of the tool you used to wrap the rope with? Enjoyed and gave a Thumbs Up also
What breathtaking journey in the construction of a historical piece worthy of inclusion in a museum. Your ability surpasses any in the old nations that once ruled by their might and arms alone. A spectacle worthy of any true craftsman around the world.
just a hint...back that first bend clip with a piece of banding steel...and actually pull the banding steel so the wood stays in compression....you will completely avoid the splitting as you bend.
