Jamaica was very fortunate to have been spared the brunt of Hurricane Beryl's fury. While we were lucky to avoid a direct hit, the storm still brought significant challenges to our beautiful island. Join us on a drive-through tour of Negril as we survey the aftermath and highlight the resilience of our communities.
    🌧️ Impact on Negril:
Even though Jamaica was not hit directly, there are still families and communities that have been deeply affected by the storm. As of July 6th, Negril remains without power, and the West End has suffered far more severe damage compared to the beach road. This video captures the current state of our town, showcasing both the destruction and the spirit of recovery.
    🏡 Community and Resilience:
Despite the challenges, the people of Negril are coming together to support each other and rebuild. From fallen trees and damaged roads to the ongoing efforts to restore normalcy, this video provides a comprehensive look at how Negril is coping in the wake of the storm.
    🙏 Count Our Blessings:
It's important to remember that while we were spared the worst of Hurricane Beryl, many are facing hardships. Let's take a moment to count our blessings and extend our thoughts and prayers to those who are struggling to rebuild their lives.
    🔔 Stay Updated:

Thanks a bunch, Throp! 💐 Checking in from the Carolinas...family and I really appreciate your (and others') video updates -- especially around Beryl's 'visit'. It is heartening the way the event rallied folks together checking on neighbours, begin clearing the roads, limbing-up fallen tree branches, gathering up fallen fruits, etc. Really appreciate your part in sharing with us through your lens, how your community fared. Continued safety and wellness to you and all at Travellers! 🙏🏾🌞🌴🥑🥭

Thanks, Throp, for giving us a peek at what Beryl has done.
It's hard for folks who are affected, but thanks be to God. It could have been 100 times worse.
Jamaicans are good at bouncing back.
    Thanks.

everytime i see these hurricane videos, i hope that people will build and rebuild houses and structures to withstand these hurricanes better. architects and building laws need to do their best to prevent as much damage as possible. i think it is possible to have much more safety without even having to spend much more money, it is just about being smart from the foundation up or reenforcing the houses and checking how to adress the weak points of the buildings. good luck jamaica ❤

Thank you for sharing the update with me, I truly appreciate it. It was heartbreaking to see the video footage of St. Elizabeth yesterday - it seems that 90% of the area was somehow damaged. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. The people of Jamaica are incredibly resilient, and I have no doubt that they will rebuild and recover quickly. Let's hope there are no major systems between now and the end of the hurricane season in November.

I traveled to Kingston from New York about 2 decades ago …. When working with Airlines . I had stayed for 4 days . I enjoyed the trip …. But never made it out of the resort because the resort was surrounded by sellers and would not let us pass …. It was crazy . I was supposed to stay for 7 days …. But was discouraged from not being able to pass . I cut it short and took the shuttle bus back to the airport ……
Anyway , I never got a chance to see other parts of Jamaica ….. besides the destruction from the storm there …. It looked beautiful there on your trip . Very different from what I imagined …… Thanks for the road trip and thank god you are ok there . Perhaps in another year or 2 …… when things are back to normal in Jamaica ….. I may attempt another trip there .
Hopefully one day I will hook up with someone from there to show me around and hangout with . It’s always nice to have a friend in the country that you are visiting . Although I have a lot of RUclips friends …. I don’t have any from there yet .
But am now tempted to visit there again one day . I prefer to get away from the tourist areas though ….. So I don’t get mobbed again .
Great video ….. I have been following the Jamaican News there and a few of the nearby islands that also got hit .
Stay safe and appreciate the videos from the RUclipsr channels there …. Giving the personal insight …. Instead of media news that is often scripted to their advantages .
    Thanks again ……

Thank you for your continued presentations Throp, even now, circumstances notwithstanding ...
I am hopeful yours, and other businesses, will shortly rebound, better off as a result to this experience 🙏🏽
A suggestion for perhaps one of your presentations with builders, engineers; structural, etc., for Moving Forward ...
The lessons learned as it pertains to, for example, flooding/standing water and how to mitigate or over-all prevent same, including destroyed roofs, electricity, wifi ...
Discussing the importance of hurricane ties or straps, for roofs etc., generators, solar or otherwise, acknowledging the adage which states. Rome was Not built in a day.
Someone may also discuss how to learn of, and from Best Practices of other places that experience hurricanes, floidings, even tornados, including earthquakes and the impcact on floodings, electricity, wifi etc.
Jamaica, despite her challenges have come a long way since I was a child over-all. Currently faring better than other places experiencing similar issues.
We sympathize and pray for ALL Affected Islands and their peoples and that the over-all recovery of each place will be "swift" 🙏🏽

I renovated a resort and of course the Landlord did everything in his power to sabotage me after the renovation so he could get the property back. It was a nightmare and I'm now writing a book warning other investors to stay AWAY from investments in Jamaica. SMH

I keep thinking the fallen trees should be turned into sculptures and ornaments to sell to tourists as products of Hurricane Beryl. I'm sure that would be a unique selling point. Set up a website so it won't just be visitors buying it. Remember I said this.
