I feel like Lorn somehow invented a machine that allows ghosts and other supernatural entities to approach and pass through it. The machine assess their overall vibe, their intentions and mood and the beings can even whisper or speak into the machine. The machine then processes all of this and then it pours out on the other side, our side, as this amazing auditory phenomenon that allows you to barely feel what they feel, for part of you to go where they are or where they've been. I know this is all very hippy dippy and such but I really can't understand how their music makes me see and feel what it does.
You are hearing the sounds from the Void. It makes you feel the way you feel because you know where this sound came from. Their brain pattern transcribed into sound and it's making your understand what happened when this was composed.

Lorn's music is so oddly beautiful. The Tones and bass, the snares and brass. It's like listening to the heartbeat of a monster that lives deep within a volcano. Like listening the the darkest parts of the ocean, and the deepest corners of space. This sounds like something forgotten, A Dragon with no Place.
Bro, everytime I listen to this I get chills listening to that opening 1 minute 10 seconds. Some epic stuff right there. Lorn is highly underrated for such a creative mind.
This is a document of pain real and imagined. Lorn has an ability much like the artist burial to transport you to an endless journey you endure as a passenger in a darkened twilight on a rainy night as you peer listlessly through a rain soaked blurred window searching for an end and a way out of your small confide area of gloom and dread.

I mean no disrespect when I say your interpretation vacillates between beautifully hopeful and hopelessly naive. For our whole lives our consciousness tries to find and assign meaning to this existence through symbols.and creation, only to discover that eternity always wins, and we are all nothing. Our little games are meaningless in the face of timelessness. But we will keep trying to find our way, because it's all we have.
“We are nothing” is the same as saying “we are everything” I get what you mean though, oscillating between the one and the other is -us- On one hand, in a million years no one will even know we were here on this planet. On the other hand we are here NOW in this very beautiful moment, that could not be repeated in exactly the same way even if we tried to (in an infinite multiverse each with infinite timelines), listening to an artist that makes us question existence and interpret it in different ways. That’s some powerful music! And you mentioned games, yes! Lorn plays an exquisite game of “making music”. While we play the game of “what does it mean?” (In between “the work game” and “the family game” and all the other games we play under the umbrella of “the human game” under which the universe plays us - if anyone doesn’t understand go listen to Alan Watts - The Joker and get your mind blown 🤯) Got Damn Lorn! Ripping a huge hole in my existential beliefs!
i get now why everyone loves this... reading the comments shows me thst the music is exactly what you need in that moment ... 1 guy talks about moving on the otherone about holding on ... for me its just a way to get out of my bedroom and start falling asleep while feeling a mild transluscent high generated by my brain being close to falling asleep
The energy and the offset of that sound that sounds like someone hammering tin with a ton of reverb on Upside Down Cops makes my brain melt in the best way.
I first discovered these EP's when GoPro posted a half hour long documentary about the Nissan Le man race car and when I heard the music combined with the shots I was just amazed!!! And now I freaking love LORN's work!

I cannot put words to how beautiful this musical landscape is but I'll try anyway, and maybe that's the point, to go beyond the words, right at which moves and motivates from within, an attack on emotions, off which the surrender is somewhere alongside the blissful planes of pleasures only music knows how to deliver. This maze to nowhere is a trick, the maze is real, how every notes keep one hostage is the trick. Well done Lorn. I am simply put inexplicably amazed beyond what words can express.

I think I've figured out the notes in There Is Still Time. It's got such a haunting progression....something about it is just insanely beautiful. Almost has a shoegaze quality to it. If you want to hear something that has a more dancy, but still incredible sound, check out ZES' Hindsight EP, the tracks on there like Grimm, Bliss and especially Final Decay will blow your mind.
