Well, lets just hope that this gets fixed someday.
The thing I've loved about your channel for the last 5 or so years is your unique builds saint. You can't find much of anything like this in the community. I try my best to follow your example and come up with unique stuff that's still very powerful on my channel.
You simply have the best builds, it's always great to see what you come up with. I'm currently working on a build that uses Vyke's Dragonbolt to tip from mid roll to light roll, seems fun
It's just fifteen percent equip load right? So like five percent if you're tryna get to light roll? The weapon buff is good but ya I wish the body buff part was actually useful, it's such a bizarre gimmick
@@theguileraven7014 At 125 it seems a bit rough because you need so much endurance, but I tried it anyway. My heaviest weapon is the glaive with 10 weight. With a 0 weight seal and the full Nigh'ts Cavalry set, I need 50 endurance, getting help from Erdtree +1 (49 with a +2) and Great Jar's. I recommend dex isntead of strength, as weapons are lighter and you'll need much less endurance to light roll. I love bloodflame spells, especially the talons! That combo from talons to corkscrew was chef's kiss, and now will be used in my repertoire for my bloodflame twinblade build
This is why I love Saint, amazing build that I never would have thought of, we should all copy ish this build and name ourselves different prisoners so all the people only have prisoners invading them I’m definitely making this build, you make it look so damn fun
Very nice build! I think I might go about making one of my own like this at level 125 instead, centric around light weight and maybe without the poison, as cool as it is. Light rolls, Blue dancer + Rotted Winged + Millicent's + Lord of Blood should deal some significant damage. Perhaps toss in some black flame for area control and percentage based damage, plus you can add the flame tear in the flask to boost both your bloodflame and blackflame. It also negates as much need for a bow, giving you weightless ranged options that still enable the use of light weight benefits.
I'm still super bummed out that fs patched out the briars chaincast. The two spells worked well together to bait other players in. Plus if you did the one that fires out a trail and then charged the aoe briars to the max you were stunned into an animation for around 1-2 seconds (approx)
This is the first time I've ever seen someone land poison moth flight, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you. Edit: Ah man... I really miss chain casting briars. Slicer into briars was so good, and if you hit late with the briars you could chain cast combo into comet. Good times.
I was just about finished with my new dedicated blood caster. Just got to mountain tops at lvl 40 and got the second briar spell. Next day the patch rolled in, been trying to work around it ever since, still a bleed build so it can do stuff but the chain casting would have helped greatly. Copium that the next patch brings back some chaincasting and buffs weak spells.
I've been playing through and invading with an arcane build myself lately and also stumbled into this combo. It's hard to land the claw strike spell sometimes, but when you do it's extremely satisfying. I haven't messed around with the briar sorceries at all yet, cool to see them getting some love though.
Funnily enough, Briars of Sin (the thorn ring) was one of the few spells that had hyper armor before the patch (1.04 I believe) that gave spells like Gavel of Haima and Ancient Dragon’s Lightning Stake hyper armor, so that was neat. In terms of chaincasting it, I thought that it could only be chaincast after Briars of Punishment (the thorn tracer) until after the patch that removed 95% of chaincasting. Honestly, if they gave that property back to follow Briars of Punishment into Briars of Sin in a later patch, I would love to use it more.
Any idea how the hyper armor works? I thought that hyper armor begins once the animation starts where the thorns around the staff pop up above your head. However, sometimes I can tank an ultra jump r2 and other times I get staggered out of if by a straight sword. It‘s super inconsistent.
Poison Moth Flight is actually all three of the things you think it is. Alex ran the numbers. 1. Motion value multiplier of 1.25, so ironically you want to use it on a weapon not infused with poison. 2. Flat damage of 100 3. 5% of target's maximum HP I'm not sure how the maximum HP portion is modified against PvE targets (in DS3 bleed did like 7.5% of the target's maximum HP instead of 15% in the case of players), but it's still the main reason why it chunks down big HP targets so easily.
i actually was making an arcane archer build using the serpent bow. through this i found that poison was a lot better than people think. i was using the serpent bow with a poison infused antspur rapier with poison moth flight. though it would probably be better occult infused. the thing about serpent bow is it scales your sleep build up. I have half a mind to use the serpents fang, poison infused (because poison infusing it increases the duration, but keeps the deadly poison damage) and trina's arrow sleep into the claws. I havent tried it but i want to test it out
@@zawarudo8991 yes, the arcane stat doesnt increase damage, just the effects. the problem is that it has really low scaling, and arrows fire really slowly and both bleed and sleep decay faster than poison iirc.
Used to run moth flight on my arc build but got rid of it for bloody slash on side arm. Poison over time is actually good in an invasion setting and if they heal their poison it just lets you activate exultation again.
Isn‘t a full poison proc over a 1000 hp on average(mid lvl)? I always thought that if you let it tick out it‘ll be most if not your entire health bar. Wish poison moth flight would proc ALL the poison in one swing making it a one shot on hit, considering how hard it is to hit that‘d be fair I‘d say. Or is it weaker with deadly poison, since it does less overall damage?
@@zawarudo8991 It’s about 800-1000 damage. Deadly poison overall does the same damage but at a faster rate. Honestly I’m not sure anyone actually knows how moth flight calculates damage. I think it’s bugged personally.
Made a similar "arcane knight" build at Lv76. With 17 fth and 30 arc I get to u magic dragon breath, lightning spear, catch flame, flame of frenzy. Really pretty casting all those colors, plus I have morgott cursed sword and regalia, serpent bow etc. Really fun
If I remember correctly, Poison Moth Flight deals the poison's potential damage. So it is basically "Finish the poison right now" AoW. Also, I am faily certain that even if you cast it against the same target, the damage differs based on "how much poison is left" on the target. That is, the damage of Poison Moth when you cast it immediately as the target gets poison is different from that when you cast it 30 seconds after the target gets poisoned. That's why in PvE where bosses have much higher HP, Poison Moth deals quite hefty amount of damage, because poison damage in total is calculated based on total health. So it may be the case that in invasion, it only deals like 800 damage, but against Rykard, it may deal like 2k damage. Overall, it is must-have AoW if you are planning to build a poison build. It makes the poison go way quicker and allows you to reapply poison immediately. The only problem is that this is basically just bleed with extra step. And this AoW does not have hyperarmor and is a bit slow start-up, so you have to find a good opening. My only complaint is that the AoW does not pop rot status, which would make it much much much much more valuable.
A major correction regarding this build at 3:00 The kindred of rot talisman (and lord of bloods exultation talisman) do not make you do more damage to enemies that are afflicted with the status. When the effect is proced and you are nearby you get a damage buff for 20 seconds. This has some pluses, but probably a significant negative in relation to this build. Pluses: you can poison yourself to trigger by eating raw meat dumplings, or use area hazards, or use deadly poison as it has a short duration. The major minus however is that regular poison has a very long duration, meaning that 1v1 you're only going to be able to get the bonus for one proc as you'll need to wait for the poison to fade off. Like I said, deadly poison can offset this but only for the bow, serpentine blade, fetid pots, or venomous fang. I'd replace the talisman with the rotten sword insignia though your build is becoming kind of redundant and already done at that point I guess.
You could probably Throw in the coiled shield into this build. Another way to apply poison, it has pretty good poison build up and no one really expects the coiled shield.
Hey saint i was wondering if or when you would make a guide like the ds3 one on upgrade level and invasion level matchmaking seeing how it isnt as simple as ds3 thanks to the plus 25 mechanic
At some point but I'm hesitant because they may change matchmaking with a patch like they did in later DS3 and Bloodborne and the video would be wrong then.
It’s more about if the invaded is running for the upgrade shop item before any bosses that causes some weird stuff making low to mid lvl invaders. Lvl 10-20 is usually +3-6 normal and 1-3 special depending on if you want to limit invading to limgrave lvl 20-30 is +9-12 normal and 3-4 special. lvl 40+ is +12-15 and 4-5 special but try staying at +12 or 4 weapons until lvl 70-90 cause most people won’t have the +13-18 stones of sale until then lvl 100+ just max the weapons that’s what I found works well with the most common invasions being lvl 40-70 + 12 or +4. If you go to 70 +15 or +5 is a good option
Anyone else reckon poison moth flight is dealing a certain % of the remaining poison damage which is why it seems to hit hard in PVE? Makes me wonder if applying a deadly poison would substantially buff it's damage, especially if you apply the Poison Infused Venomous Fangs which is deadly poison, but lasts 90 seconds.
Holy shit I've been working on exactly this build lately! Was worried it wouldn't be able to work once I finish leveling, but it looks like it'll slap as much as I hoped.
Two things, I like that you use that goofy ass shield. It’s cool to see other shields lol. Also, is the Blood Talons into the Dancing Blade a true combo?
Do think youre right, i was planning on using moth flight specifically because i think its percentage based, has a base damage added to it but not much.
practically gasped when i saw this vid pop up, I've been using this exact combo on my own Arcane build for months and it's probably the most fun that I've ever had in a game where you create your own character. Arcane "bleed builds"? naw man, magic corkscrew sword go brrrrr
Supposedly the poison moth flight damage is all the damage the poison tick would have done but all at once. Meaning however much damage your poison would have done, i think plus a small amount. This is what ive been told and what fextra life seems to imply.
Thank you based Saint Riot for actually making an effort to use Poison Moth Flight instead of assuming it's complete trash without doing proper science. Now you KNOW it's not great because of that phantom proc that removes poison and knowing is half the battle. I salute you, sir.
Oh man I made a build JUST like this except with the Marais Greatsword instead of Regalia of Eochaid, like same idea with the Winged Sword Talismans + Milicent's Prosthesis. You were asking if the Winged Sword damage buff is a flat number or a percentage, in my experience thus far it's very much a percentage buff. It also buffs ALL of your damage, so the spells I cast after landing the Dancing Blade all of a sudden do 40% more damage, making small stuff like Swift Glinstone Shard or Star Shower hit really hard. Fun build and really great fashion, I love how the Hood of the Guilty meshes with a ton of fashion.
Just an FYI, Eochaid is an actual word like Siofra. Pronounced "Okh-id" in the least pedantic terms. In the most pedantic, the "ch" is a "k" sound spoken from the back of the throat and the "aid" is spoken more like "idge"
Yeah, but I will say Malenia, Radagon, Margit, Morgot, Bell Bearing Hunter, Noble, Apostle and a few more are like right under my "Best Boss" tier. Way better than I expected in a Souls like.
Yeah I don't know what it is about Elden Ring but for some reason I can't help but want to make new builds and play with em. I don't remember having this feeling with any of the other Souls games, it's odd and interesting
Think you'll try an arcane/int build using a similar setup but with the Albinauric staff? I've been using it with the regalia of eochaid, ripple blade, and ripple crescent halberd, trying to make that work.
The sword of regalia has the eochaid's dancing blade ash of war Maria's executioner sword has eochaid's dancing blade ash of war Somehow there are both equipped with the exact same skills the only difference is one of them is a great sword
Hey saint, how do you decide when you have enough stats or what level to stop at for a certain build? I feel like I’m always over leveling builds just so I can get past certain bosses but then get into invasions where people are just one shotting each other
Idk if it helps but here's my process of planning: decide on what weapons to use, don't be too generous. Take less weapons/variants with lower requirements on low rl builds. Settle for an approximate rl. Minimum requirements for the weapons/spells, a good amount of vigor, enough endurance to put on the armor you like alongside the heaviest weapon you plan to use, factor in erdtree's favor/arsenal talismans. What you did not use in levels yet can go to the scaling stats until you reach the desired level. A buildplanner helps alot with this. For the actual buildmaking look up bosses weaknesses and potential cheeses, also you can respec if a certain build greatly helps against a certain boss. If you plan your build organically my best advice would be to rush the recusant finger and invade while you progress, and just stop progressing when your invasion experience is fun. Hope I could help :) Edit: just saw this video by saint: ruclips.net/video/xJXEb-LraQg/видео.html
All this combo talk and now you're using Arcane but no Communion. I now know what my mission is. To find a combo involving Dragon Claw to bait Sane Ryan to make a Communion build.
I'm pretty sure the amount of damage poison moth flight does is based off of how much damage the total poison would do; and because poison does percentage+flat damage it wont be as effective against low health targets. That's why it was doing "chunks of damage" to the fire giant, while not performing as great against players in invasions. What I would be really curious to see is the serpentbone katana paired with another katana or something with poison moth flight, because if you were not aware - the serpentbone katana's poison is what toxic is in the dark souls franchise (pretty much budget scarlet rot). That being said its poison does damage a lot quicker instead of a lot of damage over time, so im not certain if it actually does more total damage compared to normal poison. The only issue I see is proccing the serpentbone poison as it cannot be infused with poison or occult and scales with dex not arcane, then again it has its unique charged attack and a decent ash of war for proccing poison.
Really love how the build turned out and poison moth flight looks really stylish. I've been meaning to do an eochaid cosplay, like a str/arc, but derusting on Bloodborne is taking awhile.

That's wild I just got back from there and they said E-o-kade
The glingstone pew pew at 5:56 😂😂😂
Poor host 💀
Man, that Bloodflame Talons + Eochaid Dancing Blade is an awesome combo.
Damn. That's a beautiful build man.
Love it.
Saint I was rewatching some Scrub Dojo and I was curious. Is Corrupted Monk still your favorite boss fight, after Elden Ring?
Yeah, but I will say Malenia, Radagon, Margit, Morgot, Bell Bearing Hunter, Noble, Apostle and a few more are like right under my "Best Boss" tier. Way better than I expected in a Souls like.
Yooo the thief hood + vulgar militia drip was my fashion on my first playthrough. Rep that
Yes, can confirm, if you spec for the briars spells, it does do a shitzillion damage. I've not done it myself, but I've seen it.
Yeah I don't know what it is about Elden Ring but for some reason I can't help but want to make new builds and play with em. I don't remember having this feeling with any of the other Souls games, it's odd and interesting
So glad you pronounce Eochaid correctly
Hey saint did you hear that waves of darkness got fixed?
The first half second of the video somehow reminded me very strongly of the "40lb. box of rape" clip.
Best PVP vids on YT. Love you Saint;hoping we get DLC.
this is one of the most creative builds I've seen 👏 try the blood slice instead
Anyone know if the combo works with marais? Would be bonkers for a higher level variance
I wanted a low level arcane build that's just awesome thanks!
Think you'll try an arcane/int build using a similar setup but with the Albinauric staff? I've been using it with the regalia of eochaid, ripple blade, and ripple crescent halberd, trying to make that work.
Saint is it safe to say RL 80ish is your favorite level range?
It's fine. I just like invading the Capital and Volcano Manor.
Cool. I just noticed many of your characters finish off around 70-80.
What armor are you using in this build? I've never seen it before. Looks cool.
There’s a guy named gigasthiccas on YT who might give you some good ideas for combos to try 👍🏼
Thank you Saint, very cool!
Poison Moth flight just looks so cool. I should have kept using it on this dex/arcane build I was crafting but decided to dump the character.
The sword of regalia has the eochaid's dancing blade ash of war
Maria's executioner sword has eochaid's dancing blade ash of war
Somehow there are both equipped with the exact same skills the only difference is one of them is a great sword
Moment of silence for the man in the academy that got ganked by you and four sorcerers
Wow I never knew the hood of the guilty looked cool. These are some crazy discord strats.
Omg I need to try this on my dex arc build 🤩 thank you
Can you play around with the bloody helice? I'm using it with a dedicated arcane build and its a lot of fun, the weapon art has a nice skill ceiling.
Poison Moth Flight just got a buff in the new patch - Fuck yes!
I like to use the guilty hood with the jester guy’s armor from the radahn castle
You can chain the ranged briars into swirly briars
Can double slash combo after a bloodflame talons? Could be a cool reason to use the serpentbone katana
Aochaid such an awesome weapon and it’s incredible how you can get it. If you just do a little Skyrim wall climbing
Hate to get caught in a dancing blade with a fell god barrelling down on me
It's nice to see someone utilize blood flame talon
Do you think level 713 good for this build???
U can chaincast briars ring thru carian slicer jump attack into it.
Hope I could help :)
Edit: just saw this video by saint: ruclips.net/video/xJXEb-LraQg/видео.html
All this combo talk and now you're using Arcane but no Communion. I now know what my mission is. To find a combo involving Dragon Claw to bait Sane Ryan to make a Communion build.
Too late.
The coughing when you kill someone with poison is too much 🤣
New Sane Ryan right as I'm watching Saint Riot
poison moth flight is the ethical version of bleed
Posion moth flight is my favorite ash. You stud.
would adding the upgraded version of the winged sword insignia mess with matchmaking at all?
The only thing that affects matchmaking is your level and your highest upgraded weapon.
1:25 carian retaliation works on blood blade?
what is the music that is playing at the beginning?
Only Saint will make an arcane build and refuses to use any bleed or rot…
Does this work with the marais executioner sword tho?
oh hell nah, that's a terrifying combo
I didn't even know this weapon existed till I happened upon it by chance last week. On run #4 btw 🤦🏿♂️
2:56 Scarlet Rot always taking a massive L. Miyazaki hates me...
Ten outa ten: would totally rip this build off if I could at all be bothered to do another build
Yo what is that song in the background?
I'm glad they got rid of chain casting, that was super OP and ridiculous.
Someone tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Saint's character looks exactly like Daryl from the Walking Dead 😆
I tried really hard to get poison moth flight work. I wanted to love it so bad lmao
