I live near Fremantle and recently served in the navy. There's certainly a historical navy presence in Freo including a small base deeper up the Swan River which is now an army base. The main navy base is south of Fremantle on an island but they occasionally dock a frigate in the port for training reasons. Foreign navies sometimes choose freo over the navy base because obviously a navy island isn't very entertaining lol.
Another great build OE. You may have stopped taking suggestions for Thessia by now but I was fortunate to travel/work Australia for over a year (I'm from the UK), and one of the locations was a beautiful tropical island hotel resort called Dunk Island (QLD). Its just off the mainland of Mission Beach, about an hour south of Cairns. Years after I worked there it was decimated by cyclone Yasi (2011), which wiped a number of those island resorts. It was stunning!! Its was served by a small water taxi to the mainland, (ran by a great dude call Nate who used to do us late night bottle-o runs for beach parties), and a light aircraft runway. The main resort spanned the beach and a secluded road ran up the hill into the staff accommodation. There's no obvious island I can see in your map but you should definitely check out the before and after images.
Ugh. When that toll booth aligned perfectly with the fence you put in just before. 🤤 It's always a pleasure to watch your detailing. Truly masterful. 🙌
One of the best things to look forward to on Fridays brother. Another fantastic episode. May be this cargo area can merge well into a railyard inspiration for a well blended industrial vibes.
Here we go again! The industrial complex is continually taking shape. I'm pretty sure Australians can agree that this looks just like the real life location of Clairemont-Fremantle, WA, Australia.
ohmigosh, egg! When you zoomed out (around 9:15-9:30) to look around the different towns, the overheads looked SOOO GOOD! For a moment, I wouldn't have known I wasn't looking at Google Earth. You're really killing it on defining "regions". As if killing it on single cities wasn't enough.
Awesome. Love the factory/train warehouse fusing. Looks great. And you can never go wrong with a bit of grown-up, weedy green space in an industrial build.
I used to live in Mandurah for 2 years like 11 years ago, love the memories of going fishing in Fremantle and exploring the harbour. God I miss Australia, greetings from the rainy Netherlands
I love that swooping interchange at 0:16 looks soo good! This was a really cool build OE, and I truly miss these epic detailing time-lapses. They just hit different than the lackluster CS2 ones. Would it be worth it to make that first left into the cargo ports a one way to help keep the traffic moving smoothly through the area? Pumped for the next town build!
Freo! Love how you put this together. (Fun Fact: Fremantle is at the end of the aforementioned "Highway to Hell" from the AC:DC song. The highway actually ends on the southern side of the port) You see the red (North Mole Lighthouse) and green (South Mole Lighthouse) lighthouses flanking the harbour entrance on Google Earth? Plus another interesting thing; the ferries that leave from Freo to the holiday island off the coast; Rottnest.
Loved this port build. But I think with all the new jobs, thessia has a housing/worker shortage. Perhaps a residential development episode is in order?
Never disappoint again Mr eggzy the professional ports builder it also would be wonderful if you extend the port to include a shipyard of sort and sea mining asset which goes well with the port and some sort of navy facility if it's possible. Thessia needs a protection 😅
City Skylines 2 is so undercooked and bland I'm happy you still make content for the og city skylines. Cs2 has the potential to be a great game but I reckon it'll be years before it gets there.
You should make a bridge to one of the islands around the main Thessia and make it a tourist destination/town with a tollbooth where you have visitors pay. There should be fishing industry there too.
Looks great!! You really are detailed and I love to watch that. Great first mod port build 🤩 Jeez I need to get my computer fixed! I am missing not being able to play!!
Hey OE, love the build! Thanks for sharing it. Have you considered replacing some of the cartoony vehicles with other vehicles from the workshop? Is that the mod where you can change all types of vehicles (planes, ships, trains, motorcars)?
I recently went and watched some of Eggs old vids... the way he has improved his city designing and planning is amazing to watch. Now vs Then. I bet he will argue its the increase of new/different assets at his disposal but I would agrue its both. Well done mate x
I am so happy that you are continuing this series. I just can't get excited by CS2 content from anyone. Until they add more detailing CS2 just seems meh.
It also has the maritime museum there too. Good place to hang out at 12am watching the ships coming in and out
We can get the boat musuem in here somewhere as the harbor grows!
Especially on the more inland part of they bay which has the quays but is otherwise empty

Thanks for the local tips, for sure more inspo to be taken from Freo!

Thank you Sailesh! Lots more industrial spice to be built over here!

Straight to the pool room!!!
If you know, you know.
Always love Thessia! ❤

Thaks bro! Yes that makes more sense 😁 Appreciate you mate!
Always appreciate a harbour build! Love the fusing of the warehouse with rail connection into the factory
Great port build! Happy to see CS1 modded build going strong
The graphics, the colors and the joy of playing with all the cool mods, are still greater in SC1. Maybe next year SC2 getting closer

She needs a HUGE population influx, maybe time for the Cairns inspired town!
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG yes please 🥺🤗
Love it in the night with those yellow and white street lamp lights ! Really cool industrial city place

Always look forward to Thessia Fridays!
Loving this series, I'm almost disappointed I caught up... but now I can go watch Ilos!

My Friday lunchtime viewing has arrived, looking forward to finding new things to add to my version from it!

Any chance at a racetrack ..Aussies have a bunch of good ones, Bathurst at mount panorama is a famous one ofcourse.
Ngl this is the most satisfying channel I've ever watched especially Cities Skylines too 😭💕
Love it 💕
Very kind! Appreciate the kind words :)
Egg casually placing 12 for disabled people reserved parking spots at an ore mine XD
Friyay with Thessia!
There should be a fishing industry nearby. Take advantage of the water and create a fish market and industry.
Solidarity with the longshoremen of Thessia, whose closest option for when packed lunch was not brought is half a country away.
😀 All ways entertaining! Thanks for you time!
This turned out so good Egg. Maybe more in the future, I hope you'll be doing CS1 content for a long time to come.
Who knew that a cargo port could be so sexy! 🤣😎👍
ROTARARY KILN! You said it wrong 😂
I am so happy that you are continuing this series. I just can't get excited by CS2 content from anyone. Until they add more detailing CS2 just seems meh.
