I was looking at getting the Faderport, but was unsure if everything would work in Logic Pro without having to tweak/reprogram half of its functions to operate Logic in the right way … Your vid goes someways to answering that for me ( thank you 😉 ).
@@leonbarton2766 No problem at all! I did get the SSL UF8 & UF1 in the end (expensive, but the gear is really good.) You can find them secondhand every so often, you may want to keep an eye out. They integrate almost seamlessly with Logic Pro...
I’ve got a guy that’s offered me the Faderport for a crazy good price of £150 - about $190 US ). Did you find that the FP worked well out of the box with Logic when you were using it or did you have to faff about a lot to program the thing ?

Absolutely loving your content and channel brother. Recently I got the UC1 and the UF8 still not fully integrated them into Logic, it’s a bit complex. I got the Behringer whatever thingy for transport it has a nice big jog wheel 😊

Hey Filipe! Thanks for dropping by the channel! The channels were clipping because I just pushed the faders up, I wasn't really mixing at that point was just showing how it works. Also Logic Pro (and most DAWs) use the floating point system which means you aren't really clipping the channels with a tiny bit over. If I was actually mixing I would pay much more attention to the individual volumes as well as the buss volumes. So to the best of my knowledge if you don't hear clipping you should be ok with a bit over on the channels, I would absolutely NOT go over on the main outs though! Andy Scheps has limiters all over the place just so people don't see the clipping! haha! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great, love your approach, simple and down to earth, although a bit spacey, lol, i have the same general tastes when it comes to the Faderport and the UC1, which i use extensively, wondering if you resolved the issue of ganging them together to look more fluid. Also do you mix entirely "in the box" or are you a bit Hybrid with analog.

But one thing I did do was use angled rubber door stops under the FaderPort to stop it sliding around. Works a treat! Yeah, spacey! I've been a musician for over 40 years! haha! and as the inimitable Sun Ra said, "Space is the place!" 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking at various control surfaces for Logic (after being less than thrilled by the Behringer X-touch). This Presonus looks promising. Also, what a fantastic sounding track, man! In addition to my solo work, I also play guitar in a free jazz improv group and this music reminds me of some of my favorite Norwegian jazz artists. Will definitely check it out.

Killer new track!!!!!!! Man someone's got some chop's.... I have the Behringer X touch and I can't see spending the $$ on the UF8.. I use it much like you do your presonus. I think the UC1 is a killer tool... I would pick up the UC1 100% if i did not have the console 1. But would have to think long and hard on the UF8..... Stay Safe !!!!!

Hey Greg! It was pretty easy and seamless to set up, around 5-10 minutes. Nothing complicated, just follow the FaderPort setup video and you'll be fine! I have to say though, I'm considering getting the SSL UF8 because I have the UC1 (they are designed to work together). Hey Jeff! I would save the extra money and get the SSL UF8. Although I loved my Faderport while I had it, the UF8 is a superior bit of kit. I know it's a bit expensive too but I think the quality is worth it. Haha! coming from a video talking about the Faderport! @@SonnyGreenwichJr Good advice! After the FaderPort I created custom midi mapping and cc messages on my Novation LaunchKey 49 MK3 to add ‘zoom’ and other HUI functions that I liked on the FaderPort. The faders on the LaunchKey exceed my expectations in terms of throw, range and accuracy - they’re just not motorized. So I AM in the market for a serious control surface, and the SSL UF8 has been at the top of my list. Any thoughts on 8 versus 16 faders?
I have a problem I can not figure out with my faderport 8. Underneath every chanel in LPX there is colors. 8 yellow then 8 red. My faders control the red but the 8 yellow are iffy Wich does not allow me to control the first 8 channels how to correct this? Any advice would help
Hi Sonny, do you know if the Faderport works well with controlling the volume of track stacks? Some of the midi software drums that come with Logic use track stacks, and I use stacks to group the instruments of my mixes so it's easier to navigate. My Behringer X-touch one gets confused and sends the vol up/down commands to multiple tracks at random when I try to adjust the track stacks, so I can't mix with it. Does the Faderport work with them? I just subscribed. Thanks!
Sorry for the tardy response! I sold my FaderPort & bought an SSL UF8, so I can't try this for you. I was able to send track stacks to a VCA channel and (even) automate the volume from there. It did work for a while then a firmware update stopped it for me. I did everything the guys at Faderport asked me to do but it never worked again. This was one of the reasons I switched to the SSL UF8 Thanks for visiting the channel AND leaving a comment! 🔥🧨💪🏽🤠👍🏽🧨🔥
You probably already know this by now - but if you hold down “Shift” on the console and press that center scroll button wheel (blue knob) at the same time - it will show you the levels. Took me forever to figure out as I just got a Faderport 16 . It should have a way for that being the default setup, but unfortunately haven’t figured that out.

Thanks for the Input and Demo but Faderport doesnt work for all of us. It has glitched continuously with Logic Pro. Clips than stops working having me reboot my system constantly. What a waste of effin time... When this was suppose toaccelerate my workflow... Nah Bruh... Unfortunate that Presonus doesnt Give a Shit about Logic Users or else these issues would not occur. Spent countless hours reading forums and most Logic users say the same. Presonus Tech Support is like Casper. SO at this point no other choice than to return it. OH Well. They say X Touch is THAT much better with Logic. Ciao Presonus...
I had a small problem with mine and got in touch with customer service, they were OK but never resolved my problem.
