I’m in my upper sixties now, but when I was a teenager, my brother and I took SCUBA lessons. We drove the instructor crazy because we were excellent swimmers and snorkelers, absolutely no fear of the water. Would practice/compete at treading water for hours at a time. Could hold my breath for 3 minutes and actively free dive for over two. To this day, wish I had joined the Navy or Coast Guard. Would have loved doing this test.

Nice uniform, Lt. Chops! Oh, wait. I don't know Coast Guard rank. Lieutenant Junior Grade, maybe?
I was in the Marines, but I still wouldn't come into this overestimating my ability.

Looks like fun! I was a navy rescue swimmer, the under water egress was my favorite in the helo dunker

Don't you wish you could have been a USCG AST ("rescue swimmer")?!? 😉😂✌️

@@gus473 hahaha i totally went to the coast guard recruiter and it was 9 months to go to basic and then they explained how it would take 2 years of service then i could go to rescue swimmer school. So i talked to the navy guys and they got me in right away with a swimmer contract. In Hindsight i should have gone to BUDs first when i was young instead of when i was done with my first contract. I just didnt know what i wanted at the time 🤣

Wait seriously? 75 yard swim and a 2 minute tread water? That's like the test to be able to swim in the deep end of a pool
