Great video as usual Les and very timely. Since upgrading to the pro version and switching to the TDS version of the GTN in the supporting aircraft, I have been using it in the JF Turbo Arrow III (...which I have jumped back into as I was getting a bit bored of the fully automated G1000 equipped GA aircraft). While one has to manually manage VS in the Arrows, the concepts you outlined in this video are equally applicable and therefore extremely helpful in my understanding of the VNAV features and functionality of the TDS GTN. Many thanks!!

It is very applicable to all aircraft that use the GTN Xi for sure.

Awesome video thanks Les! Picked up several useful improvements, great to see that APR mode transition work so smoothly when below the glidepath!

Can't wait for the new SWS update to come out soon as well!! The posted a nice update shot today and it included some of the AP mode behviour changes and thus display on the EADI.

Good morning Les, this was another unparalleled beautiful video that helps me to use my new TDS Garmin 750 Pro correctly, I certainly enjoyed watching it and the pace at which you share your wisdom with us. I really like sharing.
I hope that you will help us in the future with this beautiful GPS.
Greetings from Jack from rainy Netherlands.
I wrote this response using Google Translate.💗

Very interesting, I never thought about manually managing VS to follow VNAV with altitude constraints. I'm not sure though I'd do it in real life (as a single pilot) as it increases the workload, there is an increased danger of busting an altitude constraint and finally I'm not sure ATC would like descent rates of 100 fpm. Anyway, overall, very instructive video!

It’s the only way to do it in the PC12. I do it every day for work. That’s the job of a pilot

If your Cleared on the STAR then it's about making the constraints ... If you want to level off below 5K (so going west say 4K) and then wait before getting below 3K so you can descend at a higher rate that is up to you the pilot.
No where on a STAR does it specify "Minimum Descent Rates"... If ATC wants something more they will ask you to expedite your descent but at that point they would have not just cleared you to descend as per the STAR. ATC is not going to micro manage you...

Thank you Les for this video. I would be interested in how you control the 750 knob with your spadster or knobster. I have tried event viewer with no luck. This video does help a lot.

I have videos for the TDS using the RSG 750 bezel. It shows the commands to use. I also think that the events were added to the most recent manual. I also have been meaning to post my PC12 stream deck config. But it’s not yet complete with the quadster knobs working. But all the buttons are done with the same events.

Hello Les, me again, I have practiced a lot with this video but I still have a question.
Before I land, I get the message 500, just like you did, and then you hear 50, 40, etc. I don't hear this with my Flight Simulator, is this a setting?
By the way, I also use the DAH for landing.

haha .. sorry the 50/40/30 etc is SPAD.neXt playing out Audio Clip files that I made my own Callouts Scripts with :). Only the 500 will come from the TDS or the SWS-PC12.

You might want to make sure you downloads the new Manager. Make sure all services are closed (including in the System tray) -- maybe do a restart of the machine to be sure and run it again -- might also have to do as ADMIN depending on where the sim is installed and the "ownership" rights of user accounts.

why do i get an cabin pressure alarm?

    • @LesOReilly
      @LesOReilly  4 месяца назад +1

Because you did not set your cabin altitude dial to your cruising altitude. I would recommend reading the SWS PC-12 manual.
