I like the pillar candle holders using spice jars/cans ❤
The paper mache vase and cement beer bottles vases are fabulous!🤩 très chic 👩🏼🍳💋🤌
The vase looks great both ways!
Very creative!
I personally liked the vase better white, I'm not a fan of gold. I also like the candlesticks because of the unexpected shapes of them. I hope your move is going well. ❤
I liked the cardboard vase in white and the glass and concrete bud vases best. The clay vase will be cool when you figure out how to keep the clay from cracking. I can’t decide on the spice candle holder - cool idea. Thank you for sharing the complete ‘good and bad’ process with us. Ruth.
That vase was unbelievable, great job!
What a great way to recycle, outstanding! Oh and just a quick tip, peanut butter removes labels like a charm! Let me know if you try it 😉
Actually, I loved the candle holders, they are unique and different. ❤❤❤
Love that candle holders very creative
The cardboard, paper mache vase is pretty. I like it plain white. The beer bottles turned out really nice too.
I think I like it better white also
You could cover your pillars with joint compound to give them texture and disguise? 😊
You need to glue the clay down and painting while damp will reduce additional cracking. If there is any foil on the label, soaking doesn't work. It's so interesting to see your original designs!
I liked the vase solid white. I'm so sorry the clay kept cracking because I love the look. When you figure it out let us know. The candlesticks IDK...undecided on the look. I once made candle holders out of stacked baby food jars. Angela thank you for showing us what works and what doesn't. You are a very determined lady!
Great projects! I kinda like the candlesticks-in the right place, you’d never know what they are😊
Hi
Like ur ideas & vids 😊
An idea for the cracked clay.. Maybe a material that can fill the cracks & is metallic gold colored. Like how the Japanese fix broken pottery. John St an idea that popped in my head wen seeing ur struggle 😉
Or I wonder if using a glass jar instead
Absolutely loved the candle pillars. And that gold vase...... Chef kiss 🤌
I love the candle holders. The only thing on them that would make me think they were made from recyclables is the tin can, because of the ribbed sides. I don't care, I love them anyway.
I am so thrilled I found you’re channel! Why? It drives me crazy everytime I throw these items away. I know with my creative skills I can start using some of your techniques as well as solutions offered by your viewers!
Btw I loved the candlesticks! I personally love a matte finish.
Thank you and now a new subscriber! ❤
Thank you so much! I have a few other videos just like this on my channel and I love making them. I agree it drives me crazy to just throw things away
I liked the left (taller, I think) candle holder the best. Maybe spraying them with the texture first and then black, and if you wanted the color on top, spraying the texture again?
I love these so much!! I need to get me that clay block!!!
You need to use a really quality air dry clay like das or sculpt then put a wet paper towel over it I do this all the time but I also glue it it the surface it really really helps. You can also paint it first this also helps prevent cracking.
Thank you I love DAS and sculpy those are my favorite air dry clays
I wonder on the candle sticks, if you wrapped them with cording, twine, lace, etc in spots ow the whole thing and then painted it, if it would help make them look more carved. Or, modpodge on tissue paper or newspaper pieces over the whole thing and then paint when dry….
Now I need to go raid my kitchen and trash bin and craft room and experiment myself…
lol
Thanks for the ideas ;-)
Yes those are great ideas! I think I’m going to retry this one with some of the suggestions I’ve received. Thank you
All nice, the candle holders made from many pieces looked good flat black! They lookes industrial! Nice use of trash :)
I’ve been looking for a channel that recycles into treasure great!!!
I’m so glad you enjoy it I have a few other videos just like this on my channel 🥰
Very inspiring 😊👍
I don’t think you would know what they were made out of, but I like them black instead. They turned it great. I’m going to save some containers and try it.
I think you can get away with the taller, thinner candle holder but the other one, I totally agree with you.
I liked the first vase in white I can use it in any decor, with the gold is nice as well but limit to use it in other decors. Also the gold area can be repainted as a desire color for different rooms decor. Agree with others ones mentioned that the candle holder using the spices container gives an industrial look I believe you did a great job with the idea. The concrete ones awesome as well, but I wonder the top part make them easy to be knock down, maybe addind sand to tbe bottle part to add more weight. All your ideas today I like them to be use on my patio this summer and dont be worry about the wind etc etc.
I agree with you on the white vase instead of gold! Also on the cement bottles I thought about them being too heavy but if I added anything inside you were able to see that through the glass unfortunately
Try using a cardboard container that you can remove before the cracking starts...just a thought
You can tell that the candle sticks are random kitchen items but it adds to the charm.
I love the candle holders, the cans look like big bolts and screws, steam punk! You are so creative, good job!!💕💕💕
Yes I can see that!
I liked the vase solid white better
I agree
Cool trash to treasure diy's Angela❤
Try wrapping the clay around a balloon used for balloon animals. This could allow for shrinkage.
That is a fantastic idea!
I think if the clay is glued down while wet it reduces shrinkage
The vase was my favorite. I might try it. I like it better with the gold but both ways were stunning.
Love the base with the gold accents! Do you think a different clay would work better? I like DAS.
Haven’t even finished watching yet, but I knew I’d forget if I waited til the end -
That vase is brilliant! Great end result and you’d never guess what it was made of. Also - Mad Elf is my favorite! I like a bunch of their other beers too.
You can also use benzin to take the glue off❤❤❤
What about using plaster over the candle sticks
I thought about that. I think plaster would definitely help make it a little less obvious. Or paper mache even
I really liked it white for the vase I think it was too striped with the gold.
I agree I prefer it the solid white
Actually the candle holders were the best one.
90% Rubbing alcohol for labels. Breaks down the glue. Then use Goo Gone if needed.
What about something cardboard that will give as the clay dries
That’s a great idea never thought of using cardboard
